Last night you know who deleted a number of posts/threads relating to the charity. He also deleted the justgiving.co.uk/lmzf page (the one you visit to donate) I have had it restored and all funds are still intact. In light of recent events and due to the fact that marcusabacus controls the account we are going to have to shut it down and ask for the funds to be released to the stroke association I will set up a new LMZF charity donation page on justgiving later. My question is and i'd like responses and suggestions: A. Do we setup a new one and continue with the stroke association? or B. Do we set up a new one and link it to a new charity? If answering B, then please suggest a charity and reason excuse me for editing this: suggested charities strike association(current) cancer research alzheimer's air ambulance http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/?gclid=CIrN27mwvJMCFRWT1QodSTujBw Edited by Ivor_Bigun, 23 May 2008, 11:16 AM.

This was one of my 1st thoughts when I read who had done the damage and I am glad you have manged to check it all out. My choice would be start another as we had reached the target. Suggested charity - Cancer Research UK. It has probably touched most of our lives in some way. Edited by HitWman, 22 May 2008, 08:53 PM.

I think the original plan was to let the strokre association charity donation run until augaust, and the target was reset to two thousand pounds. I vote to continue with that, but will obviously go with the majority. |

My life has been touched by both Stoke and Cancer victims. As the original target was reached I say switch to cancer research. |

1000 wasn't the original target. it was just changed as we went along. originally it was only 250 but we reached that within a week so upped it. The plan was to up it to 2000 and let it run till august but we have no control over that particular page now. we can just start a new one though and let it run alongside the existing one. |

Might I suggest we put it to a poll once we gathered enough suggestions. For the record I'm all for a Cancer Charity, I lost my mum to Cancer a year ago this month. |

We raised £1000 for the stroke association, which is fantastic :gr8: . And maybe £1000 can be the goal for each charity? I'd say Cancer research too, cos pretty much everyone has been affected by it or has someone close that has been affected. After that I'd the altsheimers (bad spelling I know) research. The author Terry Pratchett has been recently diagnosed with it and said that even though nearly as many people get it as cancer, there is virtually no funding for research into it. And it's got to be one of the worst things to be affected by, both by the person with it and their family. |

^^ Agree with the Alzheimer’s suggestion too, loads more funding is needed, especially as 'they' seem to think that a cure should be achievable. |

The £1000.00 limit for each charity sounds a great idea. I would be happy to give to the majoriity decision but would put forward a vote for Cancer research as I lost my mum to it. |

i personally would like to keep it to a smaller charity (along the same lines as the stroke association) £1000 is a drop in the ocean to cancer research whereas £1000 to the stroke association does actually make a difference. will add poll now. Keep stroke or start another edit: i'm not saying cancer research isn't worthy of our money as i too have lost several family members to the worst of the worst! edit: poll now added...please vote accordingly yes, yes, i know i should have started poll before asking for responses :$ Edited by Ivor_Bigun, 23 May 2008, 10:45 AM.

B. go with a new one will go out on a limb here and post the following link. its a charity to support all our servicemen/women who suffer horrific injuries whilst defending our right to play ps3 in peace and reasonably apt given the game we are playing. http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/?gclid=CIrN27mwvJMCFRWT1QodSTujBw sure its not the only one but it was the first i found :gr8: EDIT: just had a scour round the site and they are associated with the 'JustGiving' website as per our last charity http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/knowledgebase/questions.php?questionid=174 Edited by gazeele, 23 May 2008, 11:23 AM.

Kind of mixed feelings about this. Stroke Association chosen because of SG's situation and seems to me to have been a major part in creating the cohesiveness of this community, other than COD4. Not entirely sure as I wasn't around at the time but this is my take. If a decision had already been made to go for £2000 then I say we honour that. Once achieved we maybe look at other charities or a basket of them. There are a number of other charities/causes that our community are affected by and can rightly contribute towards so I'm torn As I stated in the now gone earlier thread re fundraising drive a structured approach will give us as LMZF a strong charitable fundraising base that goes beyond immediate Clan members. If so we can benefit loads of causes. Once we get current difficulties out of the way let's push on with the drive |

I.... like gazeele.... think Help for Heroes would be a great charity.... if not the next one..... definately one for the future..... since we play so much... and this site is geared mainly around COD4..... And i guess all those guys and gals that fight and come back need all the support that they can get.... especially if they're not getting what they need from the government... Cheers Adam P.S. i voted for a new charity...... be good to spread the love around i think..... Edited by CabVol, 24 May 2008, 11:26 AM.

august is here and it's time to change charity. Please keep your suggestions coming and I'll start a poll. I'll give an update soon on what we raised for the stroke association Big well done to everyone who donated and took part in various events. I believe the amount raised is close to 2000 but will confirm later |

i dont know what charity to go for next but i do think it should be a small one that needs help rather than a massive well known charity that gets thousands of pounds a week anyway!! |

I voted B, in the past year my Gran died from cancer, Sunday my aunt died from cancer, but i feel the service men and women deserve our support, being as they get peanuts from the Government for their injuries. |
