There could be alot of reasons why this keeps happening to my PC, I just don't know why. It is almost like it's being switched off at the wall, no warning just goes off :( Could be 10 mins after switching on or a few hours and it can't be switched on immediately after. Can anyone one point out any reason why this would happen? Cheers Gaz Edited by BadManGaz, 6 Jun 2008, 08:57 PM.

Usually shutdowns like this are caused by excessive heat build - take the side of your case and check your processor fan for dust. Get the hoover out :) Other than that I'm not sure could be a driver issue or anything else... Has it just started doing it recently or has it always done it? If recent then I suspect dust if always I suspect driver conflict or something Let me know how you get on :) |

Thanks for the responses lads :) @Rascal Turns out a hoover collects dust  It was a bit clogged up with dust around the fan inside so I've given it a good going over with that hoover thing and see what happens. @shane it's not raining here mate :D @pot no messages, just straight off |

i have this problem, and as the_rascal says take the fan/heat sink off and clean them, reapply the compound between the heat sink and processor also check the fan on your graphics card. |

my house mate had a similar problem and i think he said it was something to do with the power supply breaking down inside the pc.
