A work buddy of mine kept trying to talk me into read these books but since I'm not really a fan of vampires or of cheesy love stories,I always had to pass. A couple weeks ago i finally gave in and borrowed the whole series from my buddy and read all four of the in one weekend. Now I'm as obscessed with the whole twilight world as any hormonal twelve year old girl. |

I love books about vampires. But imho the Cullens aren't exactly "real" vampires. They don't even have fangs! Now, don't get me wrong, I love the books. But "real" vampires are supposed to have fangs and they DON'T walk around in the daylight. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah as far as "real" vampires go the cullens were a bit unconventional, although that didn't bother me too much. I did like the whole extra abilities angle though. Some of those vamps powers were kinda freaky! |

Oh, yeah, the extra abilities angle was pretty cool. I can see that happen with "real" vamps. It makes sense in a way. |

It does. And its a shame that we didn't get to spend a lot of time with some of the more talented vamps. I would have liked to seen more of them. |

I liked Twilight, but not so much Twilight fans. They kind of scare me, with their girly shrieking and raving about "Edward Cullen". Maybe scare is not the right word... more that I want to stab them with a stick. I have great antipathy for fangirls of this mindless nature. HOWEVER, it was a well-written (like everyone says) and surprisingly broad series. I liked it. I'm not sure I would classify it as "real" fantasy, however... it is hardly hardcore. |

I really liked the series. It was a fresh take on vampires. I'm glad someone finally mixed it up a bit. Yes, it's sugar-coated but that's because Stephanie Meyer was smart enough to target the right audience. Now she has a massive fan-base of both young and adult much like the Harry Potter franchise. |
