Another day had sprung up against the sky as a royal hunting party took to the forest nearby. It wasn't the King's, but a prince of a providence in the 4th Kingdom. He invited several court members from the 1st Kingdom including that of Princess Danielle, who was glad to come up to the place where her father had been raised and so far she loved it here. Riding on her mustang Beauty, she thanked Duke Brendenton for his lessons before she came up here and to know the fact she was now getting notice by not just the Royal Court, but everyone. Danielle smiled at the fact as she heard the hound dogs howling up ahead as the party pressed onto their hunt. It was peaceful here inside the vase canopy of the DisEnchanted Forest and by the looks of it she wouldn't mind coming here everyday. She sat up straight and tall hearing the arguing of the ladies in front of her. It was getting annoying, but she didn't let it show. As the party stopped in the clearing she stared up through the trees to seeing it was nearly midday. Time had passed by so quickly and she loved it. The rest of the party had stopped ahead and looked for a place to eat lunch. Of course Danielle wasn't hungry at the moment so she ventured on into the trees next to her trying to not get lost or a hunting party from both the party she was with and the Royal one would send out a search party to find her. Coming up to another clearing with leafy brushes that her horse trotted through and got down to guild her horse to the nearby tree and tied her up before she at down on a rock to listen in on the forest itself. She was glad that she came with the Court even though that the ladies argued in front of her. Hearing many noises as she sat there was indeed beautiful other than that it was enchanting to her. |

His fingers plucking at the strings, Marcellus listened closely as he set to work tuning his lute amongst the pots and pans left out still from breakfast. Florizel had wandered down to a nearby stream to bathe and would return soon to help pack up camp and take their small caravan farther along the road. He figured if they made good time they could make it to next village by nightfall and be stay there for a few days to make enough money to buy some food and head out again. If it was a particularly generous town maybe even enough for a night at one of their inns and not having to wake up cuddled up against Florizel in their small tent. It was not a pleasant way to start your morning. The sound of horses nearby had him turning, the string he was on snapping in the middle as he accidentally tightened it too much. That was just perfect, it really was. Replacing it in the back of their carriage, he set to work rolling up the blankets to make room for the few things they carried with them from town to town. The horse hooves grew louder and louder, stopping nearby and he walked around the large carriage spotting a girl sitting nearby in the difference. He looked quickly around for Florizel, she had money, her apparel giving her away, and might like some entertainment. But his fellow was nowhere to be seen. His curiousity growing as he picked up a large bucket of dirt and sand they had gathered the day before, throwing it out over their fire and watching it die. When he couldn't take it anymore, Marcellus dropped the bucket and moved through the brush to where she was sitting. "Amazing, isn't it? All the sounds. Inspiring even..." He voiced as he listened to a nearby bird singing and he hummed along for a moment, melodies and lyrics filling his head. "Do you hear her:? How melodic as she calls out, guiding her young as they venture off for the first time from their nest home?" There was an oddness to him as he quirked his head to the side, continuing his humming. |

Danielle had been setting on the rock for a while hearing the voices of the nature around her. There was hardly any forests in the 1st Kingdom, just alot of villages plotted out near each other. It wasn't a heaven to get away the busy life of the 1st Kingdom even though she wouldn't tell it to anyone, but herself otherwise. Pulling out her locket from behind her coller of her riding dress to studying the pictures inside. She smiled for a moment before a noise alerted her from behind makign her snap the locket shut as a voice spoke making her turn around. Seeing a boy about a year younger than herself and thus dressed as a gypise. She never met one and knew that some of them were bad by the breifing this moring. "Yes, it is. I never heard anything like this." she said in return still behaving like a princess, but being herself in the process. Looking up in the trees she saw the bird, who was singing. "Yes, I do hear her. She's such a beautiful creature." Hearing the birds song as the tiny birds flew out of the nest was not like the birds at home. This birds had a song to be heard then a calling song. Danielle smile faded as she saw a little bird who was trying to take off fall to the ground. She caught the tiny thing in mid air,"Poor thing. Are you alright?" she asked the little bird, whos colors were beautiful. She smiled as she walked towards the nest to place the bird back with it's mother,"Be careful next time. You'll get the hang of it." With a smile she placed the bird back in the nest with loving care. Danielle showed compassion to a few animals all, but snakes, spiders, skunks, etc. "Let me introduce myself," she said with a smile looking at the boy,"I'm Danielle, Princess of Whitebrook Providence, 1st Kingdom. May I ask what's your name?" she asked. |

"This -" Marcellus said quietly as not to disrupt the natural rhythms of the woods all around them. "This is real music. Not what I do. The way it all melds like the King's orchestra but still so pure and natural and organic. Even Bremen town cannot say that they have such music as this. Someday, though..." He told her as he suddenly switched sides and speaking over her shoulder and into her ear in his interesting and maybe slightly crazy way. His job was to entertain and even in this setting, he worked to bring out the intrinsic beauty of the moment. "Someday I shall discover their secret." He added almost inaudibly as he let the music sound as his eyes flicked quickly all around the ceiling of leaves above them. With amazing quickness, the woman had sprung from her rock and caught the falling bird to which he quickly slid into the spot she had just taken, crossing one leg over the other and using the moment to dust off his vest as she went to put it back, running his hand over the worn but rich brocade. Once it had been nice but time had taken its toll on the fabric, wearing it down so that it had become nothing but his travelling vest. "That is a mouthful." He said with an odd grin as he stood from his rock, moving quickly towards her and bowing deep in front of her. He had assumed she had money, she had the dress and poise of those that had been blessed with riches, but with a title to go with it, he knew he must pay his proper respects as well. Plus, there was no telling when she might need musicians for a party. Taking her hand, he offered a small kiss on the top before using it to spin her in her spot and stepping back. "Marcellus Derosio is my given name. Musician of the Fourth Kingdom, originally from Kissingtown but now the whole of the Nine Kingdoms be my home as I travel them bringing my joy of music to all that shall listen." He introduced, slipping one hand into his vest proudly as he stood a little taller. "My dear princess, this wonderful music around us must not go to waste. Would you humor a poor musician as myself with a dance?" He asked with a grin as he bowed again. Edited by Marcellus Derosio, Jul 17 2008, 01:45 PM.

Florizel stared into the water, wiping away any lingering dirt and grime on his face and hands. It was important that they were clean--it was the only thing that distinguished them from common gypsies was the crispness of their performing clothes and their hygiene. Florizel took careful precaution to look perfect in every way--to have his hair combed the right way, to have a new vest to wear, for his trumpet to shine underneath the sun above. If anything was put off, anything was wrong, on his person, Florizel would do anything to fix it. They couldn't get good profit if they looked like a bunch of beggars placing on the side of the street. "Marcellus, my friend--" He called out as he ventured back from the small stream of water. He absentmindedly tugged on his own travel vest, this on battered in comparison to the floral one he wore while they played. A frown crossed his face as he stopped before their tent, still erect, and the rest of their belongings gathered close to its edge. He poked his head into the tent for a moment before the frown deepened and his eyes ran the length of the rest of the forest in search of his friend. They had grown up together, Marcellus and Florizel--it had been Marcellus that taught Florizel all he knew about the world of music, about the magnificent nature of song. It had been only a few years before that they began their journey, entertaining all throughout the 4th Kingdom and many others beyond that. Although a majority of their performances consisted of music, songs either requested by passerbys or ones they had written themselves, they would often venture out while the other set up camp. Florizel had a slew of 'magic' tricks up his sleeve that he would do for young ones and Marcellus' was known to offer miniature lessons on the lute he played so flawlessly. But Florizel hardly thought that his friend would go off on his own when they were so far into the forests--there wasn't enough people passing through to perform for. However, a moment later, Florizel could heard the distant sound of voices and his eyes cut towards the sound amongst the trees. Easily abandoning his spot by the tent, he caught sight of Danielle and Marcellus a moment later, a smile crossing brightly across his face. "A dance indeed--surely you won't let the music of nature fall away like water between your fingers, will you? And luckily enough--" Florizel's eyes cut to Marcellus before he offered Danielle a small wink. "Luckily enough, Marcellus is a brilliant dancer. But if the music around us--from the birds and the sway of the trees--doesn't capture your attention..." Florizel reached into the pocket of his vest, drawing out a silver harmonica that was kept there. He was putting on a show--even caught off guard--for this woman. In just his friend's presence, his words weren't as choreographed. But with the prospect of a few gold Wendells, he was flowering up his words and actions. "...perhaps I can help persuade you. I'm Florizel Iris, a musician of the same stature. Although I am not a dancer by any means." Florizel told her before he brought the harmonica to his lips, blowing out a soft tune, slow tune. |
