“Thank you.” He gave a small nod. “I only hope I can maintain the same amount of conviction that you’ve shown me in my new role – as you have in yours. Conviction is an important thing to me.” He smiled lightly and looked toward the ground briefly. “If it wasn’t already abundantly clear. If you’re going to do something, do it and mean it. There is no middle ground or room for wishy washy behavior.” He once more drew her to a stop. “My you are a curious one and quite willing to challenge. Don’t mistake me – that’s a good trait. It’s better to question things and to simply accept them because someone else said it was so. Have you not live a moment in which you a memory made you hesitate? Have you ever found yourself welling with tears at the very image of something that is not present but something that you experienced and hold in a memory? That is what I speak of. True, it can make us ten times the person we are, but – if you let it – it can hinder you as well.” He smirked and have a half hearted laugh with the shake of his head. “Not the masses my dear, the ladies and gentlmen of the court. The people on whom we stand, our very roles are based on them, they are to be commended. I meant the court itself and the majority of the people within – they choose to be pretentious and self-important. I would love to see one of these courtiers try to survive a day beyond their pampered selfish lives.” He shook his head again and this time reapplied a stoic face. “I should not have spoken so bluntly, you must forgive me. Here I am spouting ideas about behavior and how to maintain an image among those who have the power to eviscerate you proverbially among your peers and I’m simply speaking truth from my head and heart. Forgive me.” He once more glanced down to her and again began to walk. “Oh you speak of memories and admitted that your great grandmother was Arielle – I was under the assumption that she had no living family. Clearly I could be wrong, because here you are. I merely took what I know of you and what I know of her to deduce that. Now deductions can be wrong – please tell me I didn’t come to the wrong conclusion and I’ve offended you.” |

Danielle nodded,"Your quite welcome. " she replied back,"Me? do something? I will not do that behavior that I showed you in the ballroom." Danielle looked at the Court as they passed to her he almost looked and acted like her grandmother. She turned away to face Barron once more,"Do you have any plans on when your coronation takes place?" she asked. "I'm always curious about things that I don't or do not quite understand. Yes, I have more than once, but it think it was depression that I was going through." she said when they stopped,"I think I now what you speak off." She was finally understanding on what her question was, but was answered different. At least she understood on what he was telling her. Which was a good thing. Danielle looked at him when he spoke of a topic he asked her before,"I'm not Catholic. Oh? I'm sure if they lived outside these walls they wouldn't last not even a single hour." she said laughing towards the end of her sentence. "I forgive you. It's not like everyday you met a person, who different than yourself. I forgive you for your bluntly." Danielle looked out a nearby window for a moment before returning her gaze back to him,"Princess Ariel? The Little Mermaid? She married Prince Eric of Whitebrook long ago and had a daughter named Melody, who my material grandmother, but died just before my parents were assen. My mother was the daughter of Melody, who married a Duke to become a Lady. That's the story behind my family, it justs has some mystery in it." she said with a smile. |

Aemelia had worked her way around the room, dusting off every availabe counter and surface with the small rag she carried in the front of her apron. Compared to the gilded elegance of the room, she stuck out like a sore thumb in her patched and tattered clothing. Her dress was made from bits and pieces of old scraps, the occasional piece of fine fabric hidden in that she had snuck from Maggie's old clothing as her older stepsister would rather burn them than actually pass them down to give her something nice. She went over the whole room once again, looking everything over to make sure it really was dust-free. It took a keen eye and a few times of going back over it with the rag but it eventually looked up to standard. That didn't mean her job was done, though. Far from it. She had only just begun, having had a morning already of darning and cooking she now looked towards an evening of dinners and laundry as well as the floors to Maggie's room that had to be cleaned before night fell. Amongst other things, she noted, as she pulled out a long list from the front pocket of her apron, pushing a small strand of hair from out in front of her eyes. Next was the sweeping of the front hall. She sighed as she stopped in front of a small mirror, taking her hair out from its hold only to put it back up again in its low bun. It was always important to try and look your best as you never knew when your Prince might arrive at the castle and you wanted to be ready if he ever came. "I think that will do nicely." She said to herself as she turned her head back and forth to check and then moved out to the hall, shutting the door quietly behind her. She hadn't expected to see the new King and Princess both standing there and it gave her a start as she turned, taking a second to regain her composure before curtsying to them both. "Good afternoon, your magesties." She greeted as she raised her head back up. "Is there anything that I may get for you?" |
