"It's not crazy." Gwen said for the second time, her eyes lowered down towards the ground for the briefest moment. She was seated, with her legs crossed underneath her, on one of the beds in the room they had been given. Although they were guests of the queen, there still stood rather large and bulky men outside, guarding their door in case they tried to take a run for it. Gwen ignored it though--she was looking at all the good in this situation. And she was certain there was quite a big of good in it.

The Ice Queen had offered them wealth, protection, shelter...but all of that was moot point to Gwen. The most important thing they had been offered were titles--she wasn't a power hunger woman by any means. It was a matter of recognition--a matter of people know who she was and knowing that she had an important job to do. Gwen's worst fear was getting lost in the swell of crowds, stuck in the back corner for the rest of her life. Therefore she sought after bigger and better things all the time--something that would get people to remember her.

"Hear me out for just a second, all right? Have I ever steered you wrong? You remember that restaurant we went to? You didn't want to go because it was new and 'scary' with it's big pillars and fancy lighting. And because you had to dress but that's so not even close to the point--I made you go, right? And you liked it--and then when we went back a few months later, you suggested it." Gwen's eyes had lit up as she told the story, a smile crossing her face at the memory.

"This is practically the same exact thing. No, it is the same thing. That orb is the scary restaurant and all we have to do is go get it...and once we do, it won't be scary anymore." Gwen told him, not even convinced by her logic. She tipped her head to the side before shaking her head and giving a soft sigh. "All right fine, that is just retarded.....just come with me, Gabe. It'll be fun--I can promise it. And you heard what she said--we'll be helping out all the kingdoms." Gwen reasoned.

She knew he would probably catch onto her underlying meaning as it was who she was. She had done it before, chasing a big dream in the hopes of being noticed--it had been the reason Gwen left Gabe in the first place.

"No, no Gwen I definitely think it's crazy." Gabe said honestly. He was rolling over her words as he paced back and forth in front of her perched on the bed. "It's not not crazy. It's all crazy."

He took to pacing a little faster. He was freezing and had been since they arrived. Even in the room where there was a fireplace he still found it impossible to shed the chill. There was always a nip in the air no matter how many clothes you put on or how big the fire got. He pulled his arms tighter around him. "Do you really want to talk about this?" He asked. "About who's steered who wrong?"

He didn't like the feel of this place. It was physically cold but there was something emotionally cold about it too. The Ice Queen was the only one who had seemed remotely kind and even that was contrived. He hadn't seen another woman in the place, even the servants and chamber pot people were men. It was odd. It was almost as if the Ice Queen either feared women or loathed them - perhaps both. However she had taken to Gwen. That made Gabe very uneasy.

"Gwen listen, there's scary - then there's this. Did you see the icy blades those dudes had? Swords man - swords that could chop your head in a heartbeat. Look I say we say - thanks for the cruise, it's been real - it's been fun - it's been real fun but we want to split now." He told her. "And if I recall it was you that got us lost downtown because we hadn't seen that one club and so we went looking for it and we ended up in every back alley we could and only managed getting harassed by bums. Turns out the club didn't exist. You have steered me wrong Gwen."

He couldn't deny that it had been fun when they'd gotten lost or on some misbegotten adventure - however that didn't mean he wanted to do that here...in this strange place. Truth be told Gabe was a little intimidated by the grandeur of it all. "You want me in on this...you're going to have to do better than that."
