There were two fronts to Caley--two personas she put forth when the time called for it. She was rough around the edges, gruff and violently loud in company of the commoners. That, as it stood, was the form she was most comfortable in. Even if it marked her slightly off kilter, if it made her less noble in the eyes of her fellow, Caley enjoyed that scruffier sort than she did the staunch noble she was supposed to be.

But it was moments such as this one, as she stood within the castle, that Caley opted for the royalty rather than the rougher side. She stood up straighter, she spoke with less force than she normally did. It wasn't to say that she kept her mouth shut and stood idly by--she just did it with a little more class and dignity than she offered on the streets with the rest of the kingdom.

Caley gave the smallest nod to the guard that stood before Queen Riding Hood's door, almost blocking the entire path. "You know, if you move, I actually can speak to the queen herself. It tends to make these callings go a lot easier on my part--I don't have to shout through thick wood." Caley arched an eyebrow and smirked wide the moment he moved to the side. "Thanks love---I appreciate your ability to step off to the side. It's absolutely dashing." She told him with a wink before she snorted quietly and knocked before opening the door.

"Your majesty, I came forth as soon as I could. There was a few mishaps along the way but the moment I got word..." Caley started off, taking a few steps before she offered the queen a moment of quiet. She had served the woman for a rather long time, underneath her mother's shadow and now emerged out into her own. Caley liked to think Red Riding Hood trusted her too--as much as Caley herself trusted the queen, even.

"What ever it may be that brought me here, I am now ready to aid you in anyway...not that I haven't ever been ready before." Caley smirked slightly before she shifted in her spot. "Please, whatever you need, whatever you seek...your majesty."

"Caley." Hood got to her feet the second she was in the room. Hood immediately began to march back and forth across the floor. She was a little beyond concerned and that turned into anger. "Thank you for coming so quickly. Listen and listen quickly, " she paused swinging on Caley and taking her by the shoulder leaning over to look in the girl's eyes. She was serious about it, there was fire in her eyes. "I know that your strength lies in the people."

She released the girl's shoulders. "I have it on good authority that Wendell White is aiding that; that creature to the south." She spat the words out venomously. "Showing favor to her enough that he is present at a gala thrown solely for he and his soldiers."

She was livid even if she kept herself composes as she began to march again. "I think it's fair to say we've lost him as an ally. I have no interest in playing niceties with her on behalf of him. Suggestions - I'm willing to hear them." She told Caley pointedly. Hood often did this, she knew what she wanted but she wanted to hear someone else say it. "I've suffered that animal who calls herself royalty for long enough."

She sat lightly on the edge of her chair. "Gretel might hold corn as a stock, but we have wheat fields. I think first could constitute a seizure of all trade in the market. Wendell might have things we like for fineries...but he has nothing we need." She already considered the king an enemy by proxy, he never should have aided her - furthermore he shouldn't have entertained her by attending a party in her kingdom.

It was only when Hood let go of her shoulders that Caley relaxed--considerably so. She could handle anger--disappointment, annoyance, fear. Those things were not Caley's forte. But this she understood--this she could even try to fix. Therefore she was less staunch and less uptight in the presence of her queen--although she still stood up straighter than she normally would.

At the news, however, Caley frowned--she hadn't heard anything of the sort and for a moment wondered if his aid was known through out the common people. She was aware that many she had once used for information and accuracy were dwindling in rumors but she had hoped it was because there was nothing to tell. But this seemed to be something that someone--any of them--would have heard too. Even if it was a rumor without creditability, Caley was certain she would've already heard it and the fact that she didn't was unsettling.

"No." Caley said quickly, more as a reflex than of her brain working the situation through. She shifted in her spot and drew up to her full height, eyes set on Hood. "You ask for my opinion, your majesty. Therefore I know you will hear it fully--he hasn't a thing we need, no...but he does have something we want."

Caley stepped forward, her hands resting against the hilt of her sword as she spoke. "I speak not of fineries or jewels and clothing...that is all moot point, just as you said. We can get by without those luxuries--what he does have is an alliance with her. And although I wouldn't imagine you wanting to play nice with that sort of rubbish, I do think we must still play nice with Wendell himself. If only to get to her."

"Wendell's alliance with her means one of two things--we end up severing all ties and she wins. We are no longer associated with the man or the 4th Kingdom and no we've lost a rather powerful ally against her in the first place. Or..." She was growing more comfortable with her words, a little more arrogant about them as a smirk crossed her face. "Or we use their alliance to our advantage. Wendell is an arrogant man, we both know it first hand. There is no telling what amount of ego stroking could get us--there is no telling how easily it would be to manipulate the king. In fact, I can almost guarantee you that we can."

"Now that there is an alliance between him and Gretel, we have information we need from him--secrets, plans even of those to the south. I can only imagine what will fall out of his mouth once we've managed to remind him just how brilliant and fantastic he really is." There was the smallest hint of sarcasm to his voice. "Because he is now in allegiance with the enemy but that only can do us good. He is an oblivious enough to not even realize what would be happening to him."

"For the sake of your kingdom, I accept the apology...but a word to the wise, Marquis. I am not an enemy you would ever wish to have--it would do you well to remember it." - Wendell White
