"En garde!" Peter shouted loudly, puffing out his chest as he bent at the knees slightly and held out his sword. There was a boisterous grin on his face as he threw back his head and laughed loudly, the sound echoing throughout the small clump of trees they were stationed in. "You there...do you accuse me of such lies? Do you have proof that I--Peter Pan--would twist the truth so? There's absolutely now way--not now, not in two minutes, not even by dusk."

Peter jabbed his sword forward slightly, grin only growing in width as he stepped forward. There was challenge in his eyes--a playful, exciting challenge. "I'm telling the truth and nothing you can say will change it--Moira will tell you, won't you? You'll tell them I'm not lying, right?" Peter looked to her with wide eyes before he dropped his sword and shoved it back into his holster.

He crossed his arms over his chest and propped his chin upwards into the air as he looked down at Slightly, one of the Lost Boys he had long ago taken shelter with. They were his friends, they were his family--if any part of Peter would accept responsibility for something, it would be for the lives of this boys.

"I have met her--the queen herself, from the stories we heard so long ago. I have!" He said as he strutted forward, moving around Slightly in a circle before he stopped suddenly and jerked his head around to face the younger boy. "And is she beautiful...better than all the stories we heard, better than any of you could imagine...she is, she really is. I swear it!" Peter told him as if he had questioned his words a second time. "I have met Queen Cinderella--she is as real as the fairies. I can show you too--I can prove it!"

Peter moved quickly to climb up one of the trees, swinging himself up onto a large branch and peering down at the group below. "Listen I tell--listen to me, all of you--now!" Peter balanced on the branch before swinging down to sit on it, leaning far down onto his stomach as he grinned. "I spoke to her--right to her face. And you know what she said? Do you?" Peter moved again, sitting up straight and puffing out his chest.

"She said that I was the best boy she had ever met. Did you hear that?! A boy! The best, in fact. And then she gave me this--" Peter pulled something out of a leather pouch attached to his waist. It was a flat red stone that glistened as he held it up, rays of light passing through it. "It's magic, she said. And it's to keep us young--" Peter paused for a moment in the silence around them before he grinned again. "Forever."

Slightly, being a smaller boy, slim and lithe by nature slipped through the tree branches. He liked to linger up there - in the trees. He was small and agile. There he could rule the skies. He could make himself seem bigger by shaking the branches or he could be so tiny he went virtually unnoticed by everyone because of his size. He stopped though when Peter got serious. He threw his legs over the edge of he tree branch and looked at his leader.

He jumped out of the tree and was immediately approached by the fearless one. He rarely took time on the ground so it was with a bold approach that the little boy tried to look bigger than he was by puffing up his chest - proving that he could be one of Peter's best soldiers. His curious eyes turned back to Moira. "Really? Truly?" He asked in awe. "You saw her too?"

He whipped his head back around to look at Peter as if at attention he even slapped his hands to his sides a little. His eyes only strayed away from the forward look as to seem like the braves and most disciplined soldier to look at the item that Peter held out to them. His mouth fell open. "Forever? And Ever?" He asked leaning his head forward on his skinny neck in serious awe.

"Can you take us there?" He asked curiously. Slightly, if anything, was a question machine. He would accept answers sometimes without further poking, however it didn't stop him from asking. Sometimes more than once. "Can you show her to us or us to her? I'm brave enough Peter - I can brave the dangers of traveling there. I can even lead the team." He said with a raise of his chin. "Pick me." He said with a sturdy nod.

There was nothing more that Slightly wanted to do than meet Cinderella. In that moment nothing would be more amazing, the next minute there might be something neat to distract him -but Peter had him completely roped in.

"Can I?" Peter repeated, flicking the stone up into the air before catching it quickly in the palm of his hand. He moved his legs to swing down from the branch, holding tight to it with one hand before he dropped to the ground with bent knees. He puffed out his chest and brought his fists to rest against his waist. "I can do anything,"

"I don't know...are you brave enough? Can you fight through jungles and through deserts that don't ever end..." It was in Peter's very nature to move quickly on the balls of his feet, coming up from the ground ever so slightly as he moved--there was never a moment where he wasn't moving, where he wasn't taunting and teasing through both words and his actions. He skirted around Slightly a second time in a small circle before rounding on Moira.

"What do you think--can he lead the team through scorching heat and wolf bones?! Moira!" Peter said excitedly, bounding over to her and landing softly in the spot beside her. He threw an arm over her shoulder, looking exciting at her. "Do you think he can be braver than me!?" Peter asked--there was no way, absolutely no way, that she could say yes. No one was braver than he was and he knew it too.

"NO!" Peter shouted out before she could answer, moving away from her. "No one is braver than me but...you can try. I will take you to meet Cinderella. " Peter's grin grew as he held the stone out flat on his palm. "Come here, touch the stone. You want to be young, don't you? You don't want to become a man...ever. Touch the stone!" He told them all excitedly as the boys rushed over to him, reaching out their dirty hands to touch the stone.

Once they had retreated, his eyes fell to Moira and a smile crossed his face again. He held out his hand for her too, a hopefulness in his eyes. "You don't want to grow up either, do you?"

"It is and she was so wonderful. Kind and beautiful, and wise. Just like we had heard." Moira clasped her hands together, hurrying forward a few steps to Slightly. Her eyes shone bright with the memory, her head filled with another story to tell them later that night as the boys fell asleep in their beds.

She had little time to speak more though the boys rushed towards Peter and she moved out of their way, watching them from a distance as they all clamored to touch the stone he held, the one they had travelled so far to get. And she was beyond thankful to see them all when they returned, having worried endlessly over their welfare with Peter gone and Hook on the loose.

They seemed to part as one by one they touched the stone until Peter was left standing alone, the boys taking their places amongst the trees and stumps of the area. Moira watched him as he held out the stone, her child's face doing its best to hold the emotions of a mother.

"But, Peter," She insisted with a shake of her head, taking a step closer to him. "Everyone must grow up at some point." The disappointed voices of the Lost Boys could be heard moaning in the trees around them. Looking into Peter's eyes, she finally relented. "But I guess a small touch won't hurt." And as all the boys cheered, Moira reached out and touched the stone herself smiling as she did.
