"Well I thank you for the acceptance of company then." He said pulling up a spot opposite her on the well. It didn't phase him in the least that he might not have needed an invitation. To Dexter he did need that invitation and when she offered the agreement of company he took the opportunity to seize it. "I don't mind if I do." He did give her a demeanor a passing moment's thought; as if it might be in such a way that she was uncomfortable with him or that she didn't want him there. Had she not wanted him there he accepted wholeheartedly that she would have told him if he were not welcome.

"Ah - that's all details. We owe each other our lives, I suppose that allows us some connection we might understand - or perhaps we'll never see it through to fruition. As it stands I'm simply thankful to be alive and breathing. I'm equally as happy that you're here so we can even be having this conversation. Therefore the point might be moot. Either way, I thank you - you thank me and we both appreciate it. I think it's fair to say that's where we stand." He smiled at her as he leaned over and looked down the dark well.

His head popped back up to her as she went on - speaking of her lineage. He gave her a small nod. "I understand. A noble line and profession to be sure." He nodded looking back down into the dark depth below. He was sincere in his meaning however he went on in a curious voice while still looking below. "I couldn't help but notice that you have a heritage that you hide. That's the only reason I ask. I thought perhaps I over looked your family Ms. Copeland - as you share, at least partially, my race." Slowly his head turned back up to her and he issued her a typical mischievous grin.

He leaned over a little and innocently touched her hair near her ears. "Physical appearances don't lie." He rocked back on the well and looked skyward. "I hold you in the highest regard, understand that. I wouldn't misjudge you based on anything as trivial as bloodlines. I'm simply not that person. Beyond that, proof further, the fact remains that you still saved my life. This is a noble land and your people here are braver than almost anyone I know. Yourself included."

"For the sake of your kingdom, I accept the apology...but a word to the wise, Marquis. I am not an enemy you would ever wish to have--it would do you well to remember it." - Wendell White
