Morrigan looked over at the little girl in the corner. She was so meager and scrawny. Forget the fact that Morrigan and Rosalind would look just as tiny and insignificant without their corsets and crinolines and fluffy yards of fabric - the point was that she wasn't in them. Morrigan got up and went over to the girl. She knew her - she had been the one that often served them - she seemed to be everywhere. That annoyed Morrigan all that much more. "Make that two." She told her. She glanced over her shoulder at Rosalind. She smiled at her friend widely. "I only heard they were seen together - I didn't realize it was more than a few words. Had to be pity." Morrigan dismissed it quickly with a wave of her hand. "Right? Really he couldn't have given her more than a fleeting glance. He has to know she's not really a princess - that you're more of a royal than her and certainly that I am. That we are." Morrigan came over and sat near her friend. She too raised her chin. "Wait, you really do think so - pity..." she repeated, just to be sure. Morrigan simply wouldn't be able to live with herself if that thing got more more attention than she did. Princess or not. "It's pity." She said again, unconvincingly. "Water!" She called shrilly over the shaking of her voice from a moment ago. It was the only thing she could do to get her mind off the silly little princess and the most amazing king in the land; or at least amazing since five minutes ago when she realized again that he was a king and that he had been paying attention to someone else. The fact that the water wasn't there yet gave her the right to howl for it, or so she figured. |
