I'll have the steak, rare, with the baked potatoe and a glass of your house wine." Virginia's foot snaked up behind her leg, itching at it as she wrote down the man's order. Any moment now the hand of the clock on the wall would hit the twelve and she would be free to head out and back home and away from the nauseating fumes of the restraunt that she smiled through, at times speaking solely through her teeth when certain customers decided to take their time. "Virginia." At her name, she turned quickly, seeing one of the other waitresses standing nearby. "You have company." "Oh, okay... I'll be right back." She assured the people at the table. "Let me just handle this real quick." Backing away from the table, she turned on her toes and headed into the main area of the restraunt, stopping dead in her tracks for a moment before a wide grin crossed her face. "Dad?!" She exclaimed, her voice incredulous as if she might be seeing things, before she rushed to him, her arms out to give him a tight hug. She had known that she would see him again, that he couldn't stay away forever. "I hadn't expected you so soon, not that I'm complaining, of course." She turned at the sound of a throat clearing, the other waitress motioning back towards her table. "I'll handle them for you. You go." Mouthing her thanks, she worked at ushering them all back outside, thankful for the fresh air. "So..." She started excitedly. "How are things? And Wendell, how are you?" Her eyes settling on the rest of the group, none of whom she knew, she reached out to shake the hand of the nearest one. "Virginia Lewis." She introduced herself as she stepped back next to her father again. Edited by Virginia Lewis, Jul 11 2008, 01:40 AM.
