Wendell sighed heavily, turning on his heels to face the group of people behind him. It was the oddest expedition he would personally accompany--at least second. He simply relished in the fact that he stood on two leg for this particular trip into the 10th Kingdom. But to bring along a fairy, a woman with more fire and wit he could have expected, a native, and a maidservant he had little desire in establishing distinguishing features, Wendell was absolutely certain this could go completely out of control in a matter of moments. He had insisted for all of them to change clothes and rest up before leaving--although 'resting up' had only lasted an hour before a certain endlessly bothersome vixen demanded to leave then and there. Wendell had taken less grandeur clothing but still prided the fact that he was wearing a sash of silks and crisp, white trousers that put him miles ahead those he ruled over. "We cannot stay long. Only long enough to prove Wolf's existence--" He eyes flickered absentmindedly towards Jasella as he held his hands loosely in front of him. "I'd much rather not visit this place again--how you ever tolerated it, Anthony, I will never know. I admire your valor." Wendell uncovered the large, polished mirror and carefully rotated the round engraving on the frame. The surface of the mirror sparked to life--their own reflection faded away to reveal the grass and trees of Central Park. Come--ladies first." He said with a slight bow, not at all hiding the small amount of taunt in his voice--it wasn't entirely common to the king but just being in Jasella's presence completely skewed a majority of his normal emotions. He found himself trying to irritate her in the slightest--without even realizing he was attempting it in the first place. |
