Lies do not become us.” –The Princess Bride He felt a pleasant sense of satisfaction as the male left. He felt he was somewhat responsible for it. He’d triumphed; he’d made the male go away. That was what he’d wanted from the start. But now there was another stranger to deal with, the big golden fae. Judis turned to look up at her warily. She’d helped him get rid of the male, but now she was here to stay. It struck him to wonder why she had wanted the male to leave too. Was there something sinister about her wanting to be left alone with him? He’d picked her over the male, but she was only slightly better. Judis was leery of her too. From the look on her face, she wouldn’t be as easy to get rid of. Judis pursed his mouth at her command. He could play hard to get with her the same as he’d done with the male, but he risked looking stupidly stubborn. Now that he’d picked her, he had to stick with the adult he’d chosen. But he didn’t have to be sweet about it. Insolently, Judis stood up and took one step forward out from between the rocks. He stopped there, looking up at her challengingly, as though saying, Now what? He was ready to slide back between the rocks again in a hurry if she tried to grab him. |

Posted: Mon Aug 31, 2009 6:48 pm by Em Harper Kravir Harper watched smugly as the male left. He left without question or arguing with her, something Harper actually quite enjoyed. She loved it when others followed her orders, her directions. Oddly colored teal and black eyes returned to the small winged brute, not motherly or overly warm like most faes would be. She frowned at the little creature, wondering what she should do with it. As far as she knew, the wolf - bird - lizard - thing didn't have a name. Harper looked off into the distance and squinted, pensive. The wolf pup had come out of his hiding place and was staring up at her, trying his best to look fierce. It was all Harper could do not to laugh. And at the same time, his gaze irritated her. There was something about his insolence that annoyed her beyond belief. A few crows flew overhead, large and black, cawing loudly. Harper wrinkled up her nose as though she had smelled something foul once more, and then looked back down at the pup, narrowing her eyes once more. "You keep looking at me like that and I'm going to leave you here," she said, her voice a soft growl. She was not a fae to be toyed around with. Harper looked back up at the birds flying overhead, then looked back down at the winged pup. Could he fly? Harper pondered this for a moment, then decided that the pup probably couldn't. If he could, he'd probably be long gone by now. Definitely not hiding under some rocks, anyway. Slowly, Harper sat down across from the pup, pulling her tail over her sunkissed paws, eyes both thoughtful and frigid. The older fae looked down at the pup and tilted her head to one side, regarding the strange creature with subtle curiosity. Harper knit her brow and blinked a few times, thinking. Then, she spoke. "Mmmm... give me one good reason why I shouldn't just leave you here. She didn't know who this pup's mother was, and because she was not its mother, she felt no significant attachments to it. Therefore, she had no qualms about leaving it for someone else to find. Afterall, she wasn't in Caelum to take care of orphans. |

Posted: Mon Aug 31, 2009 7:59 pm by thePenDragon ooc: Sorry, super short. We can end this anytime if you can think of a logical way to do it, I dunno. I was thinking about bringing him to the thread with Nora and Ajax. He doesn't want to come, though. ;) Prejudice – “We are men of action. Lies do not become us.” –The Princess Bride Prejudice’s ears lifted hopefully at the female’s threat. Good, leave. She would go away, and he’d take a nap, and when he woke up, Mom would be back. But it did seem like she’d been gone a long time… His ears drooped a little. She’d be back any minute, he told himself stubbornly. He knew it. He saw the way she looked at him. He remembered what his mother had told him about four-limbs, how they would never accept him because of their hate and fear. He sensed that the fae was wondering what he was, and she wouldn’t feel kindly about him or his mother if she knew. His mouth turned downward sullenly. Well, he didn’t need her anyway. He didn’t need anyone except his mother. When she asked for one good reason, Judis rolled his shoulders in an elaborate, insolent shrug. Inwardly, he was laughing. She was going away now, wasn’t she? Couldn’t she see that that was exactly what he wanted? He’d won. A grin pulled at the corner of his mouth. He sidled slowly back between the rocks again, inch by inch. He could go back to his hiding place, since she was leaving anyway... Edited by Keno Yasu Kedieo, Sep 3 2009, 12:32 AM.
