Posted: Mon Jun 29, 2009 10:28 pm by Lunarcat7 Clan wolves were so arrogant and conceited. Velocity limped through the slush, seeking a higher altitude and cleaner air to clear her head. She'd accidently tramped into an alpha's territory and the stupid cur, furious that she wouldn't join, decided to attack. Of course she licked him good. Then for some reason the pack members expected her to lead them. Velocity shook her head. She just couldn't understand clan wolves. Her journey had taken her south into a mountainous area. She'd been looking for a group of loners to join. She liked to be around others but she wanted nothing to do with clans and so far most of the loner's were...well, loners. Velocity turned her head and nibbled at the shoulder wound. It was healing but the itch was driving her nuts. She stretched her legs and carefully leapt onto a ledge. She was a large, arctic wolf with a muscular build and thankfully the ledge was thick enough to support her wait. The last thing Velocity wanted to do was make an idiot of herself. Not that there was anyone here to see... Oh, she needed company. Hopefully she didn't look too much like an alpha male...well, that wouldn't matter right? These lands were unclaimed as far as she could tell. Good. Velocity would keep it that way. Any fool trying to start a clan here would be turned into mincemeat...yea, that made her feel better. She laid down and rested her head on her paws. Ears alert and eyes open for any sound as she rested. |

Posted: Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:03 pm by Ze Paganator -=Ertigan Rorschach=- Ertigan kept his eyes open observing the southern scenary with slight awe. He kept track of the smells that filled his nose. Everything was so teaming with life, unlike the forzen Arctic. Sure the summers were beautiful, but not nearly as fertile as down south. He had hit south hard he guessed. The place was full of the scents of wolves. Their smells mingled in the air, the old with the fresh, the pretty with the ugly, the strong with the weak. He could almost see the wolves who had passed by here. He could almost picture them going about their lives. For him, his life had come to a standstill that night he had been aducted by.. gods knows who even. He had barely got a glimpse of his attackers before he passed out. For months he wandered aimlessly, his identity floating in limbo. He had never been anywhere except Vatari. Down here, he was..nobody. Vatari wouldn't miss his absence. Those occurred quite frequently. Ertigan didn't care much about the rest of his family. But he did miss Kit. Deeply. He could imagine her, with that cocky grin telling him to forget her and start a new life. Ertigan sighed softly, hardly even realizing he did. This was his new chance. It struck him as interesting that most of the smells were female. Hopefully he had not trudged upon some amazonian territory, because he knew such places existed. Judging by the fact that there were no strong scent markers made by any alpha, he was on some neutral territory shared by the local packs. Ertigan caught a fresh scent, very fresh. Having not met anyone except two indecisive, clueless loners, he hoped his next encounter could be someone a little more..knowledgeable. She was a fellow Arctic, resting. Ertigan approached loudly so she wouldn't think she was sneaking up on her. He halted a few steps away. Ertigan smiled pleasantly. Dusty brown ears perked up confidantly in interest. "Good day ma'am" He cleared his throat. It was strange, speaking to another wolf now after weeks of solitude. "Do you happen to know where we are?" He asked casually. The lithe brown Arctic would pause, faded orange eyes resting on hers. Ertigan Rorschach couldn't care less if it made him too oblivious or naive. She smelled like a loner as well. Ertigan had his mind set on a pack. If only she'd point him in the right direction. |

Posted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:19 pm by thePenDragon ooc: Btw, this should take place after Shadowfire's fight in Lone Terra. I'll edit it later with updates if need be, but I'm assuming he'll have injuries. Jester Pied – "When beggars die, there are no comets seen." –Julius Caesar Shadowfire – “Fearless to the strong, humble to the weak” –Arthur & George All his instincts were pulling him back to Sirya. He had to be there when she gave birth. Nothing could be more important. But after he left the madness in Thunder Clan, he decided to make a very brief stop in the mountains, just so he could say he’d tried to keep his date with Shadowfire. Who was to blame if the Arctic wasn’t there? But Jester immediately smelled two other wolves, and one of them as injured. Jester sighed. He’d been here before. Well, third time lucky. He decided to go see. The male might even be Shadowfire; Jester couldn’t say he’d marked his scent that closely. They were both loners. And as for Jester, he was an oddity. He carried the scents of River, Wind, and Thunder Clans. He rather liked it. He could be a wandering mage, knowing and mysterious, a creature of nowhere and everywhere. With his strange multi-colored coat, he could play the part too. He smiled to himself as he padded quietly up to the two loners. He was in time to hear the male’s question. Jester said, “You’re in the Caelum, friend, in a place called Glacier Mountains where elderly megalomaniacs come to start small, rebellious packs. Or so the wind tells me.” He smiled, taking in the female’s shoulder wound at a glance as he lay down on the cool ground like a cat. “I’m Jester Pied. Have you two seen an ugly black bruiser of an Arctic with a downright unnatural mark on his face?” “I heard that,” Shadowfire said amiably. He emerged from the shadows downwind, soft on his fee in spite of his healing cuts. “I’ve been tracking you since you got into the mountains.” Jester eyed him. “What happened to you? Someone else take dislike to your face too?” Shadowfire laughed. “No, it was more heroics.” His eyes softened at the thought of Loki. He pricked his ears, looking at the two strangers. More fuel for his chivalric schemes? Shadowfire’s encounter with Victoria had only made him more determined to create a new kind of system. Even if he was the only one. To Jester, he said, “My offer still stands. And you two, maybe you’d be interested too? It would be a pack for loners who want to look out for each other, with no leader but ourselves. I’m Shadowfire.” He paused to lick a cut that was healing itchily. He sat back. On spur of the moment, he lifted his head and howled a curious, questioning howl, just calling for anyone else who might be nearby. He looked curiously at the two unintroduced loners, waiting for a reply. |

Posted: Fri Jul 03, 2009 12:00 am by Lunarcat7 Velocity Antioch The sound of steps alerted Velocity to the approach of a male arctic wolf. Well, well, company. She looked him over. He had fur that was a mix of earthy tones and pale orange eyes. She wasn't sure what to make of him and waited for him to speak, the tip of her tail twitching ever so slightly. "Good day ma'am. Do you happen to know where we are?" He was polite enough to warrant an answer but she had to think about it for a minute. She knew a lot of geography but she rarely bothered to put names to places. "Ahh...we're in the Glacier Mountains I believe. North of the clan lands of Caelum. But don't quote me on that. I tend to go where I please and I, uh, well names aren't my thing." She smiled and was about to ask him what he was looking for when another wolf approached. She stood to her feet. Finally things were getting interesting. The oddly colored male confirmed there location and added more information. But was was up with the "wind tells me". The only thing the wind ever told Velocity was that she was either running to slow or a storm was coming. She smirked though when the insulted the black brute that emerged. She could appreciate a sense of humor even if she wasn't very good at exercising her own. Hmmm....hopefully some females would show up at some point. Velocity didn't take to swimming in a sea of testosterone. It would be a pack for loners who want to look out for each other, with no leader but ourselves. I’m Shadowfire.” Lady luck was smiling on Velocity today. What were the odds? Maybe spirits really did exist. Hopefully this wasn't a scam but if it was she was sure she could handle herself. Velocity leapt down from her perch, flinching slightly at the landing. "Well, Nameless One, I almost wonder if you're psychic. If what you say is true I'm interested. I was looking for such a pack myself. The name is Velocity Antioch." |

Posted: Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:51 am by Ze Paganator -=Ertigan Rorschach=- So he'd only have to go south to reach the clans. Ertigan smiled to himself. Well his journey wasn't far from over, he supposed. The Glacier Mountains itself did not seem like a bad place at all actually, chilly yet sustainable for most lifeforms. But Ertigan had qualms about the summery heat of the southern packs, surviving the drought was his biggest concern. Kit despised the heat. “You’re in the Caelum, friend, in a place called Glacier Mountains where elderly megalomaniacs come to start small, rebellious packs. Or so the wind tells me. I’m Jester Pied. Have you two seen an ugly black bruiser of an Arctic with a downright unnatural mark on his face?” Ertigan's eyes followed a calico-coloured male as he approached, listening to his words. He wasn't so much interested in rebel groups, as well their giant opposites themselves. However Ertigan allowed himself to entertain the idea for a few brief moments. Approaching from the trees, his orange eyes detected a male who matched Jester's description, accurate albeit grotesque description. "I suppose there something the wind forgot to mention, sir." The dusty-brown Ertigan mused, with a chuckle as Shadowfire made his entrance. He nodded in greeting to the other. Then Shadowfire spoke. The two seemed to know each other, his orange eyes glazed over began to turn back to Velocity as Jester and Shadowfire began to chitchat. It wasn't that he was impatient to continue on his way. First perhaps he'd take some time to see the Glacier Mountains for himself, he didn't want to be dragged into some small defenceless rogue pack where he'd catch fleas and all that good stuff from the measly maggots. Velocity seemed very eager to join in Shadowfire's idea. Eyes turned on him. Ertigan wagged his tail slowly, an interested smile on his face. "I'll say.. I hate to commit myself so early, but this seems almost too good to pass up", honesty, good-naturedly. Join this Ertigan, and the next thing you know will be taking orders from loners who think they're too good to take orders. Well it was something his pessimistic mother would have told him anyway. "Ertigan Rorschach, if anyone's interested." His coutenance brightening slightly. "What brings you'll up here looking for such a place? Not a bad run-in with the clans hopefully. Tired of saving damsels-in-distress?" In Shadowfire's case he sparred a weasel-like grin. "Or just the opposite?" |

Posted: Fri Jul 03, 2009 7:46 pm by Hamico Loki Loki climbed slowly. Her shoulders and back still hurt, but her ribs were healing nicley. Other than that, she was just weak with dizzy spells every now and then. She came to a band of wolves, and she recognized one. Her ears immidiantly shot up, and her tail swooshed from side to side. She quickly made her way up to the others, this set her back on fire. She winced, and breathed heavily. These wounds were such a burden... The red and black speckled fae looked toward the brute who had saved her. She remembered it too clearly. The coldness and darkness that over came her thoughts as she almost died. She shivered... She was now beside the other wolves. She took a deep breath,"Um...I heard a howl.....?" She bowed her head at the familiar wolf..."Um...I'm Loki..." She wondered what was going on. At least she knew someone here. A very cool someone in her opinion. |

Jester Pied – "When beggars die, there are no comets seen." –Julius Caesar Shadowfire – “Fearless to the strong, humble to the weak” –Arthur & George Psychic? Sure, he’d take it. Shadowfire smiled at Velocity, then to Ertigan: “No, I’ve never even been to any of the Clans. There’s no reason it needs to be confined to a place, either. It can go wherever your loyalty to the…order can go. I don’t care if you join another pack, so long as you’re there when your friends call you. The leaders will be only our equals, whom we elect ourselves.” Shadowfire looked away, not sure he was making himself clear. He didn’t have such a way with words as Jester seemed to. But speaking of damsels in distress… “Loki!” Shadowfire got up and nuzzled the fae behind the ear. Her injuries had healed enough that she could walk. Shadowfire had gone ahead to find Jester, but he was glad she’d followed him. It had been a few weeks since she’d been attacked. Shadowfire had taken care of her, feeding her, guarding her, and doing his best to treat her wounds. He didn’t say anything about rescuing her, but he felt almost proud as he sat down beside her, like he was showing her off in front of the others. Why not? She was his lady. “You hero types sure know how to get yourselves beat up,” Jester said. He padded over to look at Loki’s healing wounds. With a mischievous grin, Shadowfire said, “I propose that Jester should be our first Master, since everyone knows of his skill, his fairness, and his never-failing gentleness, especially with words.” Jester snorted. “Why don’t we just declare ourselves all Masters? It’s our pack, after all. Or declare ourselves all ducks.” Shadowfire frowned. “I won’t take the title of Master until I’ve earned it. I’ll be a Knight. I offer as proof of worth my recent battle with Victoria Rasha, of which Loki is witness.” Good grief, he was serious. Very well, Jester could be theatrical too. “Alright, if everyone else here will elect me Master too, I will accept that as proof. But you all have to swear that you will hold your loyalty to the wolves gathered here above all other loyalties, that you will defend them like family and will come whenever they call you; and that you will never tell another living creature about this order unless they ask you specifically. Anyone who breaks the oath will be hunted down by all the others and banished or killed.” There, how was that for theatrics? |

Posted: Sat Jul 04, 2009 3:44 pm by Lunarcat7 -Velocity Antioch- Ertigan seemed to be a full-blooded clan wolf in Velocity's eyes. A bad run-in with the clans? Pfft. You could say that. Though she had to agree with Ertigan's damsel-in-distress comment. Shadowfire seemed to be a rather debonair rogue if she'd ever seen one. She' preferred her males a little grittier but then she wasn't picky. Of course...perhaps he was already taken. She looked up to see a fae with a red and black peppered coat. She seemed very shy and timid and while Velocity tended to harass this type of wolf she held back, pleased to see that there was another female in this group. Velocity eyed the wounds and grinned. Well, well, color her impressed. So this shy little fae was a fighter? Looked like her wounds were fairly fresh. Velocity's shoulder wound and mostly closed and the bleeding had stopped but the area was red, inflammed, and sore. She'd have to find a cool stream to deal with the swelling. Maybe the water could help Loki clean some of the blood from her fur and the two could bond a little. She listened to Shadowfire and grinned. The description of the pack sounded a lot like her old pack where a wolf was in charge because the others respected him and it wasn't just who was strongest, character, wisdom, strategy, and kindness all played a role. It cut out the heir system and ensured that a bad seed wouldn't inherit the leadership role. Of course in her old gang they weren't given the option to join clans unless they were spying and she guessed that this one would be a bit more high class. Velocity's old gang fought over everything, constantly, mostly for fun. She guessed that the same thing wouldn't fly with Shadowfire. Shadowfire nuzzled Loki confirming that there was definitely something between the two. “I propose that Jester should be our first Master, since everyone knows of his skill, his fairness, and his never-failing gentleness, especially with words.” Wow they were quick to chose. Velocity figured they would live together for awhile and just let the natural leader rise up. That's what they did with old Korbin and it worked out fine. Yea, this group was definitely way more organized. Ok, she could adjust...maybe. She snorted. "Well, not everyone. All I know of Jester is his name....however...I despise clan life for personal reasons and having a group I can really trust is to good to pass up. I'll give him a shot." She nodded to Jester. Shadowfire continued and declared himself a knight. They had ranks? She was beginning to wonder how different this really was from pack life. At home if there was a job to be done someone was asked to do it. They covered all ranks. Well...at least it looked like she got to choose her rank. After all, no one knew Velocity's skills better than herself. "Ok, guess I'll be a knight too...that's a fighter right? Fighting's all I do. And I, Velocity Kyrie Antioch, swear my loyalty to the Rogue's Guild this day etc, etc." She sucked a vows and formalities. |

Posted: Sat Jul 04, 2009 7:18 pm by Hamico Loki Shadowfire had nuzzled Loki behind the ears. She felt her whole face heat up. She nuzzled him back, under his jaw. They were getting rather close. Loki sat next to him, and shivered. Even with winter mostly gone, these mountians were cold. There seemed to be a nice little gathering of wolves, but this Jester was an odd character. When shadowfire reccomended him as a leader she tilted her head. Did they know eachother? Speaking of leaders automaticly reminded Loki of her sister. She wondered how she was doing. Was she ok after the fight? She wanted her sister to be ok so badly. She wanted her sister to have a mate, and pups too. She wanted her sister to be happy. Loki was just dissapointed that it was the darker side that provided that for her. Loki seemed to be concentrating very hard. Her mind was still just a tad foggy from her near-death experience. Thinking so hard made her mind spin. She closed her eyes tight, but still toppled over towards Shadowfire. "I'm so sorry Shadowfire! I-I just got dizzy...." She hoped he was ok. She didn't want to hurt his wounds too. |

Posted: Sat Jul 04, 2009 7:51 pm by Ze Paganator ((Gah, this thread is moving too fast for teh Pagan..)) -=Ertigan Rorschach=- Ertigan listened politely as the rules of the Order (is that what Shadowfire had called it?) came fully into play. It might seem as if they were jumping the gun a little but perhaps they've waited too long to this brainchild of theirs to come to life. Ertigan could only oblige by listening. “I propose that Jester should be our first Master, since everyone knows of his skill, his fairness, and his never-failing gentleness, especially with words.” Master hmm? Ertigan smirked, willing to play along. It didn't seem as if he had any other choice at the moment. "Certainly, I bow in humble reverence of Jester's... many skills." What specific skills the calico wolf had eluded the lanky Rorschach. However he supposed it would seek pertinent to ask when they were only forming the rules of their little order. Shadowfire declared himself a Knight. His description of Knights perked the dusty brown Arctic's interest. "I can fight, how 'bout that." Ertigan mused silkily. "Don't mind if I honour myself with that title as well." If they were all in the business of nominating their own ranks that was. Oh Gods, hopefully this wouldn't come to some disastrous end. Then Jester spoke, a beautiful little speech, he would have thought had his full attention been paid to it. However his stomach was calling for his attention. Did he smell rams near here? Jester looked expectant, a good degree proud of himself. Very well, the Rorschach would humour him. After all he was only swearing loyalty and secrecy to this newborn order, how much worse can it possibly get? So he began in a grave, soprano voice. "I, Ertigan Rorschach, solemnly swear my first and foremost loyalty to the Order and that I will defend its members with my dying breath, and will never breathe word of its existence unless specially called upon to." His tone and choice of words almost fooled himself, it was perhaps the most formal-like thing he'd said in a long time. "That being said, let this order be guided by justice. A high degree of moral standards is.. expected. We may protect the weak or punish the sinful but only as.. guardians if you will. If the order's members dabble in senseless brawls I may be a dead wolf before long." Ertigan spoke ended with a chuckle. His long brown tail swished from side to side. "Dinner anyone?" Lets just say lamb chops were an irresistible delicacy for him. He scented the agile furry little beasts from miles away, and had no qualms about going after them himself if nobody else was interested. |
