You play as the leader of a small undeveloped caribbean island during the cold war. The game focuses on the various stratergies involved in staying in power, the population grows over time and each citizen has a mixture of desires based on what they want to do or what they believe in. Their are about eight factions like the capitalist faction and the religious faction and you need to gain enough support from the people and their social leaders to stay in power. One of the big focuses is on how to develop the island and another is which side to take in the cold war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropico http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/tropico/index.html |

Sounds interesting. Now I really want to play Tropico! I wish NS were like that so that my nation can fight in wars and I can overview life in the NC. If NS were like that, it would be a mix of Flight Simulator, Grand Theft Auto IV, all of the SIMS games, RPG and shooting games in one. The only bad is that I would have to download it onto my computer and it would take up a lot of memory. |

In tropico your military is only potent enough to fight rebels, the U.S can end your regime by sending a destroyer should you upset them enough. |

Cool, I can work with that. Online game or store bought? If online, where do I find it, if store bought, what store sells it (if you know). |

I searched for an online download but all I could find was the demo. As for store bought you might try a used game store; since it is an older game. But I am not sure where to find a new one. Although amazon.com does have it new. There is an expantion pack for it: Paradise Island, but I don't know anything about that. There is also A Tropico 2 which takes place between 1500-1700's (I cant remember exactly) but is basically the same thing except you control a pirate settlement. |

I've not played the sequel but the guy who got me into it said it was disapointing, didn't like how unpredictable the looting was for your economy. I bought my copy on Amazon, it came with the expansion pack and was bundled with fortress, I think I paid about $20 for it. |

I think the second one is not all that disappointing. Its not a fun as the first but still entertaining. (Personal Opinion) |

As I said, I've not played it so I'm just relating someone else's opinion. |

Now that we're talking about this, I'm thinking about the XBOX game Just Cause. Has anyone played it? A friend of mine told me about it. |
