I'm entering this baby in a Poetry Slam: Blank expressions stare at me They claw at my every being They blow me over They push me back They pull me toward them They never seem to look back The emptiness in their eyes The emptiness tells me to listen But they can’t seem to speak So I can’t seem to hear Their words are lost with the wind But maybe they’re just taken away By the people who have caused the pain I can’t really tell Not anymore at least Maybe they never lost their voice They’re just afraid to speak up To speak out Because “The Man” will shoot them down Their freedom is lost at sea Their pride is hiding Their smiles have disappeared Nothing will bring them back Or so it seems As emptiness seems to wander As gray as it can be I can see a single color It flourishes in front of me It is the color of hope I can see it now Barely out of reach I try to grab it I try to bring it close But the hope keeps falling It is falling Falling into the sea of gray Forever it is lost But forever it will stay //Tell me what you think and be HONEST. No fluffing me up. >:/ |

You mean a poetry contest? Good luck with that. =o Mm, interesting. What's it about? Someone that's sad and is trying to be happy again, but can't because of the people around them? |

it's about how hope is there, but we can't find it in our hearts anymore. |

because of what the world has come to now-a-days. we have pollution, we use violence tactics to solve everything, people are dying for no reason, and one hundred dollars to the Cancer Society is only a minute of research. |

Not exactly a contest, no. We have to perform it sort of like a monolouge in drama. I got in Surperiors (the highest rank), so I think I did well. : D |
