Genre-specific Character Forms; We should have some

There should be genre-specific character forms. :/ A general one works fine in general I suppose, but how about those roleplays where there are more facets than just what is put on the general form?

For instance, a Naruto character should have the type of jutsu they excel at, their elemental affinities, specific ninjutsu they can do, and whatnot.

A Warrior Cat should probably have their clan, and title.

Uhm... A fantasy character should probably have their class (ie. warrior, mage, thief, etc.), magical ability, fighting style, armor preference, and whatnot.

I'm sure there's more but my brain isn't working at 100% right now. xD

That's actually a good idea, it would save the hassle of heavily editing the current template to be able to get everything in for a specific genre...

That is a nice idea that would probably help many people.

The general form was to give people the ability to shape whatever they want on it whenever they want too, but it never occurred to me to actually create separate forms for different genres. It probably should have at some point, but never really did.

Does anyone have a template that should be made first?
I think a fantasy / medieval character actually would be the best first choice to make a form for specifically, since they're used often.

Should we just make a board or something and start with one genre, have everyone pool their ideas together for it, create it, edit it, and then move onto the next genre?

I'm not explaining this very well. xD

Like, say we did start with Fantasy.
We would then have people come and suggest what all should be on the template.
Then put it together.
Then stick it up for everyone to see.
Edit whatever needs to be edited.
Then on to the next one.

That make sense?

...
Well if it does, I'd suggest that for a fantasy character, you should include:

Class (i.e. Warrior, Thief, Sorcerer/ess, Monk, Cleric, Necromancer, Elementalist, Ranger, etc.)
Weapons of choice
Magical aptitude (What kind of magic and how well they can use it)
Armor class (Heavy, Light, Cloth)
Artifacts (As in enchanted objects possessed by character)
Fighting Style (Hand to Hand, Ranged, or something more specific)
**Kingdom hails from
**Where their loyalties lie
**Who their underlings are (if applicable)

Why make another board? That's what this one is for. xD
We can just use this one.

That is a good start for a fanstasy character. Does anyone else have anything to add to it?

But I wanted to start the Warriors one first. I actually made a sample myself, so let me grab that and edit this post.

That sounds a lot like a Dungeons & Dragons template. I would just file stuff like that under 'Other', because I really wouldn't know otherwise. I haven't had my fantasy charcater long, so she's not developed enough for that. O_o

That's true, but you don't have to add them all until you know what to add. If they're new characters they won't have all of those things, but as they grow you can add them and get better ideas.

But you do have a good point, but most characters from that group have those characteristics.

But now I want to go to finish this Warriors template. I'm new to it myself, but tell me how you think this template is. This is what I've been using for my characters. Meant to post this before, but here it is!

Picture:

Optional.

Full Name:
Nicknames:
Race: Feline
Genres: Warriors
Kittypet/Clan/Loner/Rogue:
Position:

Since the cats do not have full names, place the names they will have throughout their entire lives. (ex. Pebblekit, Pebblepaw, Pebblestream, Pebblestar.) Also, describe the positions they have, according to their names. (Kit / Apprentice / Warrior / Deputy / Leader.) It's pretty easy to tell anyways, but it's still alright to have. Pick if they're in a Clan, a loner, or a rogue. You can describe if they've left a Clan and rejoined one.

Age:
Gender:
Birthday:
Sexuality:
Apprentice:
Mate:

Place their age according to how many moons they have and what age you roleplay them at during that phase of their life. (5 / 8 / 21 / 30 / 44 Moons. Looking at the Positions will make more sense.)

Talents, Hobbies, and Interests:
Likes and Dislikes:

Physical Appearance:

Mini Description: Your cat's one-line description.

Head to tail-tip descriptions. Coat color, eyes, size and height, wight, facial expressions, voice, and other acessories are possibilities.

Personality:

Habits, feelings, and acting toward others are all possibilities.

History/Background:

What lead them to who they are today. Where they were born and what it was like, lived, traveled, family, past experiences are all other possibilities.

Character Relationships:

Keep track of all the cats your cat comes in contact with throughout all your roleplaying here. You can put the other cat's name, how they know and met your cat, and any details past that. You can even describe the cat's family tree, if you want, from grandparents and so forth.

Other:

Anything else?

Here's some sample ones for Pokémon RP characters. It's very similar to our previous templates, so let me know if anything needs to be added, removed, or just changed. The first is for humans/Pokémorphs, the second for Pokémon.

Picture:

Full Name:
Nicknames:
Gender:
Race: (Should probably be either human or a Pokémorph of some kind. xD)
Age:
Birthday:
Hometown and Region:
Sexuality:
Romantic Interest: (Hahahahah. But writing boyfriend/girlfriend/crush/etc. is far too unwieldy!)

Career: (Trainer, breeder, team member, etc.)
Starter Pokémon: (if applicable)
Current Team: (I thought it might be good to list the team of Pokémon they were currently traveling with; it would require a lot of editing as the roleplay progressed, however.)
Badges/Ribbons: (Have they won any awards? It’s likely that this will begin blank, and will need to be filled in as the roleplay progresses.)
Affiliations: (eg. Are they a member of a team? An upstanding member of some town? What organizations, if any, do they have connections with?)

Talents: (What are they especially good at? Try to include something not directly related to Pokémon/your characters career, to give them more depth: it’s more interesting to know that a character is a good painter, even if they never paint, than to simply hear that they’re one of 100 people with a talent for battling Pokémon!)
Interests: (What does your character enjoy doing? Again, try to include some unrelated topics – your character’s career is their career, but we want to know what they like to do when they have some free time!)
Dislikes: (What does your character loathe? I suggest including both the mundane and the more idealistic: let us know that they feel that all teams should be obliterated, and follow it up by saying that they hate spaghetti! It’ll make the character more of a human, and less of a cause.)

Physical Appearance: (Describe your character as best you can, from head to toe. Good things to include in this section are things like hair color, eye color, skin shade, height, build, usual clothing, and the impression their appearance gives. However, in all cases, more is better! Give as much detail as you are able to do.)

Personality: (The big one. Describe how your character interacts with different types of people, and how other people view them. Are they charismatic, intimidating, shy? Let us know here! More detail is always nice, but remember that your character doesn’t have to be confined by what you’ve written – don’t be afraid to have them act a bit differently than you’ve seemed to portray them; characters themselves will evolve and not exactly fit their original templates. You may wish to edit your template to reflect this, if any major changes in view occur.)

History/Background: (Describe the important parts of your character’s life. What caused them to be the way they are today? Why is it their dream to pursue this specific career? What kind of life have they known? *sings Phantom of the Opera*)

Character Relationships: (Does your character have connections with any other people? You can include family/friends not included in the roleplay, but most importantly be sure to include other characters your character has interacted with!

Other: (Something you wanted to say about your character, but it didn’t fit into any of the categories? Stick it here! ^^)

Picture:

Type of Pokémon:
Name:
Nicknames:
Gender:
Age:
Trainer: (unless they’re wild)
Homeland: (where did the Pokémon come from? Can be left blank if you’d like.)
Where Met: (where did it meet its trainer? Include location and level.)
Sexuality:
Romantic Interest:

Level: (include current level and level raisers: for example, you might say 6, 8/10 for a level six Pokémon with 8 of 10 level raisers.)
Type: (Fire, water, etc.)
Ability: (What ability available to their species do they have? One only.)
Battle Moves: (List all attacks the Pokémon currently knows.)
Hold Item:
Awards Won: (Do they have any ribbons, etc.?)

Talents: (As with the human characters, try to include something more than just what they’re good at in relation to battles/contests and such. Are they really good at finding the cookie jar? Make it so they don’t just live their life from battle to battle.)
Interests:
Dislikes:

Identifying Traits: (Anyone can look up what a Pokémon looks like, so there’s no need to write a whole description out. However, if your Pokémon has any unique marks (or if they’re a Spinda o.o), then tell us here. Many Pokémon will have this section blank, or with just a short note – remember that most Pokémon follow the general appearance of their theme. We don’t need a ton of Bulbasaurs with star-shaped spots, or anything!)

Nature: (Describe your Pokémon’s nature in a few words.)

Personality: (Expand on the traits you gave above. What is this Pokémon like? How do they react to humans? To other Pokémon?)

History/Background: (If desired, include a bit about your Pokémon’s life before meeting its future trainer. Be sure to include anything that shows why its personality is as it is (if it were mistreated and thus didn’t trust humans, for example).)

=o I like those forms a lot. x3
I don't see anything missing or anything.
I think we can add them as the official templates if a few more people like them as they are.
