There was no doubt in anyone's mind today was unbearably hot, even to the regular Moon Forest residents themselves. Moon Forest's temperature was usually cooler in this portion of the region, but with the canyons of Catalcis so close by, it wasn't difficult to imagine the heat flooding over at random intervals. Nieyena and the infamous seaport Port Senna possessed a calmer temperment to weather patterns, so it was one reason the Port Senna volunteers for the event were slow to meet the demands of each of the trainers at once. The place itself was so busy and the air practicely suffocated them; the trainers had not been the ones setting the equipment in the early hours of the morning. The volunteers were either sweating or panting, fanning themselves off with mini fans on the edge of the tables and loose-leaf scrapes of paperwork.

Indeed, there currently was both a man and woman behind the long table of Pokémon Poké Balls, racing around to please each of the trainers gathered at the edges. It was all a difficult process, though taking faster than some might expect under the beating waves of heat. Whoever had planned to put this event in the lush field of grass without any tree canopies to cover from the blazing sun obviously had not tuned into the weather channel before arranging it. There were the thin-cotton tents, but they hardly sufficed for themselves, heat flooding in the entrance way and pouring through the roof. The people crowded outside werenot even provided this small comfort, their own presence continuously adding fuel to the area's heat intensity.

Somone back at the office was going to have some serious consequences for this ghastly labor, but at the moment, the workers and trainers alike had to lift their chins high and bear with the misery. Maybe the toughness would prepare trainers for hardships and journeys ahead. After all, the canyons were pretty dry in Catalcis, and just about this hot each and every day. Without some meat on their bones they would have no chance of walking a few mines inside. But for the workers, it would just g,ive them a nasty sunburn for a few days, along with the trainers.

Moving into Nieyena Forest nearby would have sufficed better, though by the time the workers had realized the heat index would kick to about 100 degrees they had setup half of their equipment already. The early morning had been cool enough, contradicting any later warm weather. At first it seemed as though it would be a perfect day to bask in the rays of little light and perhaps a chance of light clouds with scattered breezes. However, that gravely was not the ending case.

But in any case, the two were desperately working hard to get their trainers attended too. They appeared hot, but weren't slowed down as much as the other workers.

It was the young man who first noticed the little Sandshrew holding out a Poké Ball to him, slowly have gazed over in its direction. He had spotted its curiousity towards it while handing a Poké Ball of someone else's choosing to them first. Shuu appeared to not be sure of what to do with the ball, and the man briefly wondered how it had gotten on top of table. He had short black hair and one of the worker's yellow shirts, so he was easy to spot amongst the grassy area as a worker.

The man blankly blinked at the little Sandshrew in front of him, watching it hold out the Poké Ball to him. Why was it doing that? Slowly, he walked over towards it, stopping at the edge of the table next to it. "Do you want to know what's in that Poké Ball?" he asked it. "Your trainer might want to look at it to make sure it's the one you want."

The woman, meanwhile, also had a yellow work-shirt and brown hair placed into a long ponytail, gritting her teeth slightly to the heat. Clem and Zoe's bickering for the last couple minutes had continued to grit those bristled nerves, but she kept it to herself. It wasn't that she was a bad-tempered person but the weather did make her testy. She turned to Clem a moment after he spoke, pointing to the boxes on the table. "Alright, all you have to do is pick one of the Poké Balls in one of the boxes."

(Kale was ignored.. :( )

Sarin was startled to hear her name, and at first wondered if she might have misheard - there weren't that many people she knew in Moon Forest, after all! After a moment she realized that she did indeed recognize the voice; and turning, she saw Olivia's waving hand to confirm her guess.

Before she could move, Gyera was already hopping and flapping towards the table. With a final stroke of his wings, he popped past Olivia and landed on the table next to Shuu. He began to coo a greeting to the other Pokémon, but didn't finish it before he was distracted by all the Pokéballs. He excitedly bounced back and forth from ball to ball, chattering to himself eagerly.

Meanwhile, Sarin had trotted behind him over towards the table. She returned Olivia's smile shyly, her eyes flickering between all the people at the table. Well, at least most of the people were in the tents!

The hotheaded redhead wore a smug grin for her first victory. She listened to his point on cold climates, and saw a minor flaw in his argument. You can get sunburned in hot weather, but you can't get frostbitten or hypothermia! Zoe opened her mouth to rub it in his face, but she figured they could go on with it all day. The girl waved their little debate away, and nodded. "Yes. It's a big city with a TV station and a math genius as a gym leader. I've never seen her in person before, though. She is always in her gym, which is big and dark like a castle. I've tried to climb up the side of the wall, and I only got up to the first set of windows. They're really cathedral-looking and fancy. When I looked in, it was only the first floor so I didn't see Fantina...but I've heard she uses Ghost-types." she said, beginning to miss her hometown. Zoe was suddenly quiet, and looked back at the person sitting at the table.

"So can I just take this and leave?" she asked, picking up the Pokeball she wanted.
