Four brown splotches decorate the egg, the same shade of brown as on the Pokémon itself. The egg is rather plain, there is nothing really much to say about it... Physical Appearance: Hamsomon is about the same size as Rattata, but maybe a bit smaller. It is usually a golden color, with large brown spots here and there on its body. Its eyes are a pitch black color, like that of a moonless sky. Hamsomon are usually a little chubby, for they need the extra body weight in the colder seasons, and it adds to the cuteness factor. Usually, wild Hamsomons' coats are darker than ones in captivity. Why? Because the dirt from their digging gets into their fur, darkening the color. Though their fur is smooth, at first, it can get scruffy and uneven through normal dig Hamsomon's tail is short and stubby, with a little fur on it, but not enough to cover the pale peach skin. Its teeth are long and sharp so it has to chew on things to control its tooth length. Hamsomons in captivity usually get little wooden blocks to chew on, but in the wild, they chew on sticks, bark, and other pieces of wood. Their ears are large and round, good for hearing with, though their sense of hearing is second to its sense of smell. They can smell a favorite berry from a half mile away, so they can find food pretty easily. So when they get the food they like, Hamsomons stuff it into their cheek pouches, which appear bulky, and quite cute. Its paws are little and dainty, but their claws can get quite long. In captivity, their nails don't wear down like they do in the wild, from digging and scurrying. Personality: As noted before, Hamsomon are usually quite shy. They like to hide underground or in small, tight spaces, where it feels safest. They don't get along well with many other Pokémon, not even of their own species, but that's because Hamsomon are pretty territorial. They will defend their territory with all their might, but only if the other Pokémon attacks first. They are quite peaceful, most of the time. Hamsomon raised in pet stores or as pets will not get many of these traits, though. They will still be shy, but they will also be very calm when picked up and petted. They still won't get along well with another pet, like a Skitty or a Poochyena, but instead, if another Pokémon, not the same kind, offends it, Hamsomon will attack first, trying to frighten the other away. History/Background: Hamsomon originated in the deserts of Moon Forest, and lived there since it had been discovered. Back then, the Hamsomon were quite large, a foot and a half in height, and twenty pounds in weight. They were terrifying beasts, not adorable little pets. They lived in a pack, about fifty to each. But then came the great famon, and food was scarce. The babies of the monstrous Hamsomon were a little smaller than their parents when they reached adulthood. When they had children, their babies were smaller still. And this cycle continued for half a year, until most of the Hamsomon were the same size, and the food returned. Soon after the Hamsomons were restored from the starvation, Trapinch found their way into Moon Forest. They started to invade the packs' territory, and steal their food. The Hamsomon were very unhappy about this, and fought back. The Trapinch were stronger, though, and drove the poor Hamsomon from their land. The packs then started to merge together to make the almighty army of Hamsomon. There must have been five hundred altogether. They returned to their land, and finally prevailed over the Trapinch. When it came time to split up the territories between the packs, there were arguements. Each pack wanted more land for themselves. Blood was spilt, and soon, packs even fought amgonst themselves. Finally, each pack leader decided that the packs should be disbanded, and just to live alone or with a small family group.
