Baton Pass? Need help.; New to little cup, and this forum.

This is a baton pass team, built by someone who knows almost nothing about Little Cup; that would be me. I definitely need help here.

Aipom (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pickup. >_>
EVs: 236 HP/36 Atk/236 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Agility
- Baton Pass
- Taunt
- Substitute

It's my current lead. It was designed to pull off at least one Agility, or more depending on the Pokemon. If the opposing pokemon is a known Taunt user, Aipom can hopefully Taunt it first, Agility, and pass it on.

Mime Jr. (F) @ Oran Berry
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 196 HP/196 Spd/116 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Barrier
- Baton Pass
- Psychic
- Calm Mind

A shield for Roar, and it can pass Barrier and Calm Mind. Not much other than that.

---

Spinarak (F) @ Salac Berry
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 196 HP/116 Def/196 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Baton Pass
- Spider Web
- Substitute
- Endure

I think I need to replace this thing with something more useful. The idea was that it could pass Spider Web and maybe even pass a Salac boost after Enduring or using Substitutes.

Gligar (F) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 236 HP/236 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Baton Pass
- Rock Polish
- Taunt
- Earthquake

Second speed passer, and it has Taunt. It's for trying to wall physical attacks before I have Mime Jr. Barriers. I don't think I'm using Gligar here to its full potential, though.

Drifloon (F) @ Ganlon Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 28 Atk/4 Def/196 Spd/36 SAtk/244 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball

It can pass Substitutes and Calm Minds. It can also substitute down enough to use Ganlon Berry, and pass a defense boost.
---

Wailmer (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Veil
EVs: 36 HP/76 Def/196 Spd/200 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Hydro Pump

The end of the Baton Pass chain. High HP after having been passed defensive boosts sounded good. It's also not specifically weak to any priority attacks I can think of. >_>

Not a very good team, however you see it. I need your help!

Lead with the Spinarak. Focus Sash + Agility + Insomnia = awesome.

PHazing does not exist in LC. Any team is going to pound you directly into the ground before you can start to get things going. Single BP chains are pretty useless in LC.

If you must, use Venonat. It can BP Agility, and has a 97.5% accurate Sleep Powder.

mm.. full BP chains don't really work in LC.. You just don't have the time as almost everything can be 1KOd by a nutral STAB attack.
However a quick Agility pass can be quite effective.

Back. Will see in the next week or so how much I can contribute.

If you still want to keep the BP theme going, I'd suggest you have a plan b in case a random explosion or whatever fucks you over. I'd also suggest a Compoundeyes Venomat for the lead for agility passing - but beware fake outers.

I'd make Gligar more offensive, SD / EQ / Stone Edge and Baton Pass which means you can still hit stuff hard without needing the support of other team mates. You already have unburden Driflim which can pass speed in a pinch.

I'd also include a Murkrow or Elekid or something that can make use of boosts on both sides whilst providing instant offence and an ability to revenge kill in a pinch.

Mime Jr and Spinarak don't do much here, so look to replace them with the aforementioned pokemon for a bit of offence, Murkrow in particular has a strong Sucker Punch to stop your opponent's sweepers as well as superseding potential Ice Shards etc and gives you a secondary sweeper.

Munchlax could be a decent option for you too, just to give some bulkniess as well as ability to sweep with some speed EVs when passed an agility.

Wailmer is a decent primary receiver, but Staryu does the same job pretty much with HP Grass/Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Surf and doesn't need boosts to threaten as much.

Thank you all for your awesome reviews. I'll get started on replacing my pokemon immediately:

-I like the sound of the Venonat. Perhaps Protect for a Fake Out problem? Or maybe put Endure on it, slap on a Salac, and wait for the opponent to attack?
-I actually put Mime Jr. there because it's the only thing that can pass +2 defensive boosts. If I have to replace it, maybe I'll get a Bulk Up user. Buizel?
-I agree with making Gligar more offensive.
-Spinarak can be replaced, too, I guess. This is where my second potential receiver will go, if that's the case.
-Not sure about replacing Wailmer with Staryu. It doesn't have as much HP, and doesn't get Water Spout to abuse with an Agility.

One thing, though, for Dixie; as far as I know from using Drifblims, Unburden can't be passed. D:

Water Spout Wailmer only works well as a lead. Staryu/Buizel are almost always better in the circumstance you want, unless you're going to be heavy on the spin support, in which case I'd suggest a Sandshrew for it.

Defense boosts aren't that good in LC, because most things 1-2HKO before you can set up.

I'd suggest a NP Pass Apiom > Drifloon if you want to pass SPAtk.

Also, yeah, Venonat is an awesome Agilipass lead.

EDIT: Also, Oran is better than Leftovers for recovery.

Protect would work:

Something like protect/sleeppowder/agility/baton pass although you would have to beware of taunters. You'll just have to live with that, but as I said something with a strong priority move like Murkrow or Buizel can function well without speed boosts and gives you a back up plan.

I recommend Swords DAnce BP Gligar to Buizel since you can get Buizel in easily on the likely Surf or Ice Beam and you can use Aqua Jet on anything faster.

Defensive boosts are a waste of time really, although you could dualscreen with Mime Jr if you so wished. I'd run light clay in that case.

And with regards to Staryu and Water Sprout, Staryu has 19 speed to begin with and doesn't need Water Sprout if it is passed CMs as after a +2 boost you are OHKOing everything not named Munchlax who takes 70%ish without Life Orb from Surf

I'll try out the Nasty Plot Aipom in place of Drifloon, then, seeing as defense boosts apparently suck.
About the no attack Venonat; I keep ending up with it as my last pokemon, and it's useless. Any way to fix this?

I was actually considering putting Earthquake on the Wailmer. Maybe I will try Staryu anyway.

After incorporating the changes, this is what I have.
Code:

Venonat (F) @ Focus Sash

Ability: Swift Swim

- Aqua Jet
---
Murkrow (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Insomnia

- Pluck
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

Gligar (F) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 236 HP/236 Spd

SR screws most of your team over, pack a good spinner, like Sandshrew or Anorith, or take Sash off of Apiom, and Venonat likes Bug Buzz or whatever a good STAB is for him. Bug bite might work to steal Orans from Bronzor and gang. Buizel wants to be Return or Quick Attack/Aqua Jet/BP/Bulk Up also.

Timid Staryu and max out Gligars atk but keep the Jolly nature. Overall looking much better although Buizel will want to be able to make use of the bulk ups itself; perhaps waterfall over sub or aqua jet.

SR isn't too much a problem since there aren't many suicide SRers and you can sleep the lead Bronzors and Hippowdon Jrs.
