(Before I got ridiculous luck and didn't have the time to continue playing as much any more and thus slid to 2nd) And so here it is, my main team, which I am thinking of retiring with Platinum out, although being the lazy bastard I am, I probably will end up using it again. This team has its roots in the earlier stages of DP Little Cup but has you can see some of the influences of recent thinking of this team. I like this team because it has a lot of flow and everyone's favourite word "synergy" in which my next move is often really obvious to me because my team can handle pretty much any threat in LC and then turn the tables on them. There is a certain degree of unorthodoxy here which is pretty cool as well. And without much further ado... ![]() Bronzor @ Oran Berry Ability: Levitate EVs: 4 Atk/228 Def/252 SDef Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd) - Stealth Rock - Gyro Ball - Reflect - Earthquake Bronzor. Generic lead just like his OU counterpart Bronzong and he functions in a similar way. Gets the rocks up quickly as well as taking on those fake out leads pretty well. Crucial defensive pokemon, particularly as a solid Murkrow "counter" or "check". Reflect really helps my team out as well as laughing at Gligar all the while. Not too much to say here, but he's a good sacrificial lamb at times. As you can see, Bronzor lead screams EARLY LITTLE CUP BATTLE and as such it does fall to some anti leads some of which I have used / semi-advertised (fuck off CB Fire Punch Nosepass) but does a good job of luring certain attacks out so prediction is easier. ![]() Diglett (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Arena Trap EVs: 240 Atk/236 Spd Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef) - Earthquake - Sucker Punch - Hidden Power [Ice] - Shadow Claw Erm lol...what the fuck? This is where all that unorthodoxy crap is coming in lol here is my specialised scarflett who does a great job at just picking off little things that threaten to sweep such as your Dratinis, Staryus etc. This thing has enjoyed a renaissance since most Murkrows aren't CBers coming to Pursuit you as soon as you kill something. Let me explain the moveset and EVs. I go with a +Atk nature because I like maximum damage and am not scared of random jolly scarf digletts etc and most speed boosters won't get near 28 speed unless it is Gligar or if it gets two free turns which I deserve to lose if it is the case. Earthquake is self explanatory as is Sucker punch to an extent. Hidden power Ice is mainly for Gligar who is OHKOed/near OHKOed by it since I am shit scared of a SD-Roost Gligar. I had Pursuit>Shadow Claw but most Misdreavus and Gastlys are cocky and like to stay in where once they would have fleed. Shadow Claw stops them from sweeping my team since I don't have a ultra solid counter for them. ![]() Gastly (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 118 HP/196 Spd/196 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Substitute - Shadow Ball - Thunderbolt - Hypnosis This set is pure and utter rapeage and is one of the reasons why I haven't posted this team before because it is damn hard to take down. I always Sub first turn and I would say in 50% of my battles someone blindly switches in a Murkrow on me and then I fry them with Thunderbolt. If they switch in a slower and studier counter like say Munchlax I put them to sleep and proceed to pound it down with an intact sub preventing revenge kills. Munchlax can't even do much to me with a 40 BP pursuit so I usually have 3 attempts minimum to put it to sleep. Any faster pokemon usually get hit hard by Shadow Ball or whatever. This is more deadly than Murkrow IMO, try it if you haven't yet although 60% Hypnosis may prove to be gay in Pt. Chinchou (M) @ Oran Berry Ability: Volt Absorb EVs: 62 Def/220 Spd/228 SDef Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Surf - Thunder Wave - Thunderbolt - Confuse Ray Generic set but nonetheless crucial in crippling random special threats that may pop up as well as sponging fire moves aimed at Bronzor. Has IMO the second best set of resistances in LC after Bronzor. I prefer speed to beat fellow Chinchous to the Confuse ray as well as random 14~ speed pokemon. ![]() Murkrow (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Insomnia EVs: 236 Atk/192 Spd/80 SAtk Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def) - Sucker Punch - Dark Pulse - Pluck - Icy Wind Wouldn't be an LC team without this...I remember the days of CB Murkrow annihilating everyone with Sucker Punch fondly :). Not much to say except for that it rapes almost everything. Icy Wind is just there as an experiment really to beat Gligars as well as speed based pokemon without lowering IVs with HP Ice. One thing I must say to most Murkrow users is don't expect this to come out and beat teams 6-0, stop being so reckless with it and work around the sturdier pokemon before obliterating the rest ![]() Buizel (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Swift Swim EVs: 236 Atk/236 Spd/36 SDef Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Bulk Up - Aqua Jet - Return - Waterfall Dear Chris, this thing is awesome. Bulk Up isn't expected on Buizel and catches the opponent by suprise usually. Say they send in Wooper. I bulk up on the switch then bulk up again and laugh off the Earthquake and then smack it with a +2 LO Return. Ouch. Is still quite powerful after just one BU, just ask Mr Happy lol. Provides useful speed as well as welcome priority for Gligar, and ghosts revenge kills. Swift Swim is also quite a useful nature for counteracting Rain teams. And there you have it, my team. Why Sucker Punch AND Shadow Claw on a Choice Scarf Diglett? I'd suggest a Stone Edge on it just to get some extra type coverage. |

Looks like a very solid team.. I think I have faced this quite a few times (without BUzel), the one thing I see is the Speed evs on Chinchou.. do they really help? You are not exactly going to do much to other Chin (many have HP Grass) and not much lies in that speed range.. |

I never found that I could pull of ParaFusion with Chinchou... If you use the same team post Platinum changes, Misdreavus over Gastly. Don't forget that Munchlax gets Zen Headbutt for Gastly as well, plus with Hypnosis sucking accuracy wise you're better off Calm Minding or Thunder Wave / para hax stalling. wait leftovers on gastly wtf use Wise Glasses or something that sucks less. BUizel is really awesome I think. Edited by Chris, Oct 4 2008, 06:26 AM.

that's a good idea in fact wise glasses > leftovers for Pt. In normal DP Leftovers was superior for the ability to sub 1 or 2 more times. |
