[SET] Move 1: Rain Dance Move 2: Surf Move 3: Ice Beam Move 4: Energy Ball Item: Life Orb/Damp Rock/Oran Berry/Focus Sash Ability: Swift Swim Nature: Timid/Modest EVs: 36 HP / 36 Def / 196 Sp. Atk / 36 Sp. Def / 196 Speed [SET COMMENT] If you prefer an offensive Lotad is best to choose dran berry over damp rock. The offensive Lotad is pure power in rain, with the offensive move set is sure to take down an entire entire team. Oran Berry will be there to also help against sucker punchers and will be excellent revenge kill. Either nature can be used for the offensive Lotad.LO can be used for an extra power boost to your move set to OHKO Pokemon if Foe carries oran berry. Damp rock can be used for extending the Rain's Duration which means to damage opponent for a longer period. Oran is to avoid OHKOs from sucker punchers such as Murkrow and Croagunk. Focus sash can also be used to prevent OHKOs. [OTHER OPTIONS] As far as a special attack Lotad goes it can also be physical by making give it waterfall which covers most of them. Return is one of them. Zen Headbutt to counter fighting types and maybe a sword dance Lotad. All which makes it a physical, and sword dance to give it an extra boost. [EVs] Like more special attacks speed and Sp.A are most important to Lotad. 236 in Sp.A and 236 in Speed makes Lotad in rain even more stronger, giving you an good chance of a revenge kill. [OPINION] At first Lotad is much, but when it gets rain up it will be overwhelmingly strong and nearly unstoppable. But i can be demolished by pokemon with Priority moves which it can't really take a hit from them is they carry life orb. But don't think its a bad pokemon when it gets the rain up, it will bear overwhelmingly strong. [COUNTERS] Lotad can easily be countered by Glameow after Glameow hits fake out then follow it up with quick attack which will possibly 2HKOs it. Edited by eric the espeon, Apr 16 2009, 04:30 PM.

I spoke to you on shoddy about adding different sections. For that set... No need to mention Leach Seed, and GK does not do well in LC with all the light Pokemon. Energy Ball is better. Swift Swim is the only Ability you need to mention. For item choice.. Mystic Water is not that good, replace with LO. The other two are somewhat viable, along with maybe Focus Sash. The nature choice should be Modest/Timid Not looking over the evs right now. Defensive options are the ones I took out as it if not a worthy strategy in LC. |

Those EVs make no sense. All of Lotad's base stats end in 0s, which makes them good for EV'ing, because 36 initial points = +1. A better way to EV it offensively with Damp Rock would be: 36 HP, 36 Def, 196 Sp. Atk, 36 Sp. Def, 196 Speed. You would have max Special Attack and Speed and +1 to each defenses. Of course, judging by this thread's date, this analysis can be presumed deceased; plus, it was rather poor in the first place. |

Fixed EVs, and yes to get up to the standard of our completed analysis would require a almost total rewrite. |
