Can anyone explain to me why Azurill and Marill have completely different Egg Move lists? It's pretty lost on me right now.

SDS, Ice resists Water. Ground doesn't resist Rock.

GoldenKnight says hi

Marril makes Azurill eggs with that incense, so Marrill has a different list, being treated as an entirely different Pokemon.

Back. Will see in the next week or so how much I can contribute.

Needs mention of Aqua Jet, Ice Beam for bulky grassers and Light screen in other options.

Also make clear that it doesnt get STAB on Waterfall

your EVs are completely nonsensical. HP only needs 196 EVs to max out.

Do you mind if I go through it and fix some stuff up? there are quite a few small errors (caps, spelling, odd sentences ect... and a couple of set changes)

What I like about this analysis is that you use the word "Azurill" in every sentence. It serves as a helpful reminder of which pokemon I'm reading about, just in case I forget. Thank you very much for your concern. However, I feel other people might not understand and think you just lack a mastery of pronouns. Maybe you could substitute "he" and "it" in every couple of lines?

Right, I think I helped it a bit... but there's still a good deal of stuff to fix. Could someone else try to fix the rest from here? Just copy the whole thing and make changes on it.

SB12, I am not trying to be mean or anything but you made a LOT of mistakes in that thing, the format is very off, there were quite a few Capitalisation and spelling errors, your sentences are a repetitive mess, the sets themselves needed much improvement and... yea. On Smogon you would have got an infraction, but here I am just asking you to read a few of the others and be more careful with those things if you do another one.
But it is possible to get a decent analysis out of it so all hope is not lost.

[SET]
Name: Huge power Attacker
move 1: Return
move 2: Waterfall
move 3: Protect
move 4: Sing / Sleep Talk
item: Focus Sash
nature: Adamant
EVs: 196 HP/196 Atk/36 Def/36 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

The Attack boost Azurill gets from Huge Power makes it different from any other LC pokemon, and lets it hit a max of 24. Waterfall and Return hit every Pokemon in Little Cup for at least neutral damage, so you will do a lot of damage. Protect can be useful to scout an opponent's movepool and let you make the appropriate switch. The last move is pretty much filler as Azurill has a very shallow movepool, but Sing is a good option. Focus Sash is listed as the main item as Azurill is so frail and slow that it wont last long enough to do damage without it.

With a 20 Base Speed, one should focus less on sweeping potential and more on survivability.

[SET]
Name: Trick Room
move 1: Double Edge
move 2: Waterfall
move 3: Sleep Talk
move 4: Sing
item: Life Orb
nature: Brave
EVs: 196 HP/196 Atk/36 Def/36 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Azurill is an amazing pokemon under Trick Room due to massive power and terrible speed. This is the same spread as the pure attacker, except for a low speed, no Protect (you're going to go first and the last thing you want is to stall out the effect), and Life Orb becomes preferable due to your increased survivability.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Choice Band/Scarf can be used in place of Focus Sash, but are not advantageous in most instances. Iron Tail is a decent option but it provides no additional coverage over Waterfall/Return. A SubSalac set with Belly Drum could be used, but doing so would leave you wide open to any priority attack. Light Screen is a horrible option, don't ever use it. Ice Beam can be effective against bulky grassers. And let's not forget that Azurill learns Encore, which could be utilized successfully with a proper element of surprise.

[OPINION]

Azurill has a great ability, but horrible stats and no movepool to speak of kill any potential it might have. It simply cannot survive long enough to make an impact. Under Trick Room however, Azurill can shine.

Remember that Azurill does not get STAB Waterfall, it is in fact a pure Normal type, not Water like its evolution, Marill.

[COUNTERS]

Bronzor is only 3HKOed by Waterfall and resists Return, and can easily take advantage of this to set up or kill. Defensive Koffing is only 3KOd by Azurill and can burn it with Will-o-Wisp which also breaks Focus Sash. Stealth Rock will disable Focus Sash and with the lack of usable Rapid Spinners in LC, Azurill will have to suffer through it.

Azurill's low Speed and Defences will most often be its downfall, opening the way for a multitude of revenge killers.

Under Trick Room you must beware of bulky pokemon like Munchlax that can outslow you.

I'm not going to lie and say I didn't completely rewrite a lot of this, but I believe I managed to keep the spirit of the analysis. And I put it into smogon format.

Brilliant, I will edit that into the OP and then we can check if there's anything else needed.
