Choice Scarf: Crabhammer Return X-Scissor Rock Slide Choice Scarf Hyper Cutter/Battle Armor Jolly/Adamant 36 HP/236 Atk/36 Def/196 Spd Krabby is rather slow, but can reach 15 Speed, 22 after you give it a Choice Scarf, enough to outspeed any non-Scarfed Pokemon. In addition, it's high Defense lets it easily survive priority moves. (Adamant Diglett's Sucker Punch is a 3KO.) However, it is extremely vulnerable to special moves. Crabhammer and Return are your main attack moves, and are unresisted in LC, while the other moves are filler, but get some useful type coverage. Jolly lets you outspeed Scarfers with 21 Speed, but Adamant increases your Attack by 2 points. Swords Dance: Swords Dance Crabhammer Return Rock Slide/X-Scissor Life Orb Hyper Cutter/Shell Armor Brave 236 Atk/196 Def/76SpDef IVs: 0 Speed Very simple. Dance up and sweep. Once again, Crabhammer and Return hit everything for neutral, and the last move is filler. The EV set is if you use Krabby in Trick Room, which is your best option if you're not using Choice Scarf or a Salac Berry, though you could use a version of the Scarf set's EVs, but in either case, you want no HP EVs because you want an HP of 19 to reduce LO recoil. End-Flail/Sub-Salac: Endure/Substitute Crabhammer Flail Swords Dance Salac Berry Hyper Cutter/Shell Armor Jolly 36 HP/236 Atk/36 Def/196 Spd Swords Dance, Endure a hit or Sub down, activate the Salac Berry, then sweep with Crabhammer and Flail. TR Attacker: Crabhammer Return X-Scissor Rock Slide Life Orb/Choice Band Hyper Cutter/Shell Armor Brave 236 Atk/196 Def/76SpDef IVs: 0 Speed This is similar to the the Swords Dancer, except without Swords Dance. You could move the SpDef EVs to HP if you're using Choice Band, because then 19 HP is not required. Other Options: Rock Tomb is an alternative to Rock Slide if you aren't using TR, as it can slow down opponents, putting them at Krabby's level. Brick Break gets different type coverage. Facade with Toxic Orb is possible, but other Pokemon do this better. Krabby has a usable array of support moves, such as Knock Off, Amnesia, Haze, Tickle, Swagger, Rest, Sleep Talk, Captivate, Protect, Toxic and Rain Dance, but a defensive set is a waste of Krabby's high Attack. Natural Gift and Fling give Krabby a one-use move of a different type, but prevent you from using a "real" item. Opinion: Krabby is a powerful attacker with great defence, but is let down by horrible Special stats. He does best in TR, with a potential 9 speed, but can also function otherwise, with a max 15 speed. With the 2nd-highest attack in LC, and a high physical defence, Krabby is not a threat to take lightly. Counters: Elekid, Gastly, and Staryu are extremely fast and KO with T-Bolt easily, but beware if you're in TR. Abra is similar, but with Energy Ball. In TR, Porygon is faster and again KOs with T-Bolt. In general, any super-effective or even neutral special attacks from a half-decent Special Attack stat will KO it. Chinchou and other bulky waters don't take too much from his attacks, and many have T-Bolt to KO. Edited by npchimcharftw, Aug 19 2008, 05:05 PM.

Combine the SD sets, and just put a mention in about an alternate spread in the EVs section. With 19 HP, you might want to put a Life Orb set, as opposed to the inevitable CB set. |

The formatting is off. Using the standard formatting makes the guide look a LOT better. For your reference, the standard formatting is: Set X: Name of Set.
Item: Ability: Nature: EVs: IVs (if applicable). Comments: Presenting your guide in this way not only makes it look more smooth in comparison to the others, but also makes it much easier to read. Get a sprite here for the top of the page. Formatting gripes aside, there's a lot that can be improved upon. First off, 15 will round to 22 Speed. 14 rounds to 21, which is necessary to outspeed all non-scarfers, so you're presented with a choice. Jolly will outspeed scarfers that only aim for the 21 benchmark. However, Adamant adds 2 points of Attack, which lets Krabby's STAB Crabhammers hit even harder. Generally, Adamant is better, but Jolly will surprise some people that expect a speed tie with a 21 speed scarfer. The comments are WAY underdone. Mention what Pokemon each move covers that the first two don't. For the stats, use EvilBob's stat chart program. Writing an analysis about a Pokemon when you don't know what its speed is seems rather amateur, and it doesn't reflect well. Do all your homework before writing an analysis. Include a SubSalac set with Swords Dance/Substitute/Crabhammer/Return. Rock Tomb should go in OO, as if it nails an opponent on the switch, it'll bring it down to a level where Krabby can outspeed it easily. Edited by Seven Deadly Sins, Jul 14 2008, 04:56 PM.

Sorry, but it really seems like you haven't used Krabby, like, at all. You don't list the shortcomings of the Swords Dance "sweeper" (Hint: His Speed blows!), you don't list how he's actually fairly frail excluding some priority (look at his Special Defense!) Also, you don't have any idea how Flail might work. You want your Defenses higher so you can get in a Swords Dance, then Endure! |

I'd have to agree with SDS on the formatting. If we're trying to make these look as professional as possible (and by that I mean making them look up to smogon standards), it's best to use the widely accepted format of Name: move 1: move 2: move 3: move 4: item: ability: nature: evs: Also needs more Trick Room focus. if I've learned anything from Mag's TR team, it's that Krabby operates well in it. |

Sorry with the whole formatting thing, it's just that the way I have it now is the way Dixie put it in my Chimchar analysis. I'll change that now. |

Coopers suggested formating is more widely used (and so better) than SDS's. |

That's similar to the End-Flail set, so I just put Substitute as an option over Endure. |
