Gligar (M) @ Lum Berry Ability: Hyper Cutter EVs: 236 HP/76 Atk/156 Def Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Roost - Earthquake - Night Slash --- Lays down Stealth Rock, takes WoW/Hypnosis and tries to KO in response. Roost is there so I can win against Pokemon like Bronzor which can't hit me hard but can't recover. Kabuto (M) @ Oran Berry Ability: Swift Swim EVs: 196 HP/236 Atk/76 Spd Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Rock Slide - Aqua Jet - Ice Beam - Waterfall --- Kabuto is here because of the huge threat of Murkrow. I figured my team needs a Rock type so here it is! Squirtle (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Torrent EVs: 212 Atk/4 HP/156 Def/84 SDef Brave nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Ice Beam - Waterfall - Fake Out - Aqua Jet --- Hopefully Squirtle is going to hit its targets before they hit it using its priority moves, after that I aim to take enough damage to get into Torrent range and finish stuff off with Waterfall and Aqua Jet. Mankey (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Vital Spirit EVs: 116 HP/196 Atk/196 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Close Combat - Earthquake - Punishment - Rock Slide --- I just added this to take on non-lead Meowths easily and to give my team something fast. I like it. Diglett (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Arena Trap EVs: 36 HP/236 Atk/236 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Sucker Punch - Shadow Claw --- This is a trapping revenge killer that works very well. Not much to say. Misdreavus (M) @ Salac Berry Ability: Levitate EVs: 28 HP/240 Spd/240 SAtk[/i] Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Substitute - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Fighting] --- I changed this slot yet again, it is now a Substitute + Salac Berry Misdreavus. I basically combined Chris and alive's ideas. There are probably issues with EVs and Natures, please tell me about them as soon as possible! As you can probably tell, my team needs some serious revamping! Thanks in advance for any rates. Edited by Earthworm, Jul 14 2008, 02:15 PM.

Aqua Jet > Toxic on Squirtle. Murders all the Rock/Grounds. Poison is almost useless in LC, as there's no time for stalling. I'd put Shadow Claw > AA on Diglett, because right now it's set-up fodder for SubCM Misdreavus. |

i feel a little stupid trying to fix your team after you just beat me >.< but whatever, you asked. first things first, your evs need fixing. in LC Evs work differently because the pokemon is at such a low level it takes many evs for it to raise one stat point. for more information on EVs in LC look at this. gligar:im kind of unsure about gligar being a lead. i see that you've added lum berry since our match, which was probably a better idea for a lead gligar. i dont know about the sp. def EVs though, what exactly are you trying to stop? i dont think you'll get much use out of counter most attacks directed at gligar are going to be special and will probably 2-3HKO. roost could be an option since you don't have oran berry. duskull: i dont usually see duskull outside of TR teams so its a little cool to see him like this. honestly, you'll catch a lot of people off guard with this, and he seems to function well, i would keep him. squirtle: another silly little creation of yours. i don't know how effective this is actually going to be. aside from the little wynaut stall you had toxic probably won't be very useful. counter and mirror coat are kind of one time options, and you'll want squirtle to last. I'd say throw this set out and add the pri-urtle set mankey: mankey is a fantastic choice, whoever showed it to you is very smart>.> but there is one small thing... anything that you would hit with earthquake can either be KOd by close combat or is frail enough to OK with close combat/ rock slide. diglett: diglett works, not much else to it. although, yatch berry isn't good. SE weakening berries, especially on frail pokemon like diglett or abra, are no good. most people wont go out of there way to make sure they hit diglett with a ice beam, they are just going to try and hit you with a powerful, neutral hit, which will probably be more that enough to kill you. you probably could go with choice band to assure the KO on some of the tougher walls. abra: abra is okay in LC, but with no immunities and very frail defensive stats, he kind of gets pummeled easily. it works much better with a pair of specs or a focus sash. there is one thing I've been wanting to try, if you want to test it out maybe... Abra (M) @ Salac Berry Ability: Inner Focus EVs: 200 Spd/240 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Calm Mind - Substitute - Psychic/Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Fighting] just like any other sub salac. psychic for stab shadow ball for superior coverage. of course, you don't have to this, but its much cooler then any other abra you could use >.> I'm bad at writing conclusions... over all this team isn't bad, it will definitely catch some of the players who are used to standard stuff(like me) off guard. but you need to watch out if they catch on to some of the sets. for you first LC team isn't not bad. good luck in the tourny^_^ |

Team looks pretty solid atm, but I think that sub gastly, particularly Sub/Hypnosis/Shadow Ball/Tbolt (which I use heh, not sure about how common it is) could cause problems as could Specs and Scarf variants. At the moment, I think Duskull contributes the least to your team, Munchlax could help in that respect as could Murkrow as you can always sacrifice a sub breaker and kill it with pursuit. Also LO Murkrow could hurt your team too, so Roost on Gligar could be of some use over Counter, especially if you take out Duskull as well (as it will be your lone fighting resist) and Stone Edge over Night Slash could just shore up that weakness. You get walled by Bronzor as a result, but you can stall the fuck out of Gyro Ball with Roost if need be ![]() Another thing you may want to try at some point is to use Swords Dance Gligar--->Squirtle (or Buizel) since you can get Squirtle in safely on a BP with its Water/Ice resists and can cause mayhem if stuff is weakened with LO Aqua Jet. |

Gligar's OK. If you kept the SDef EVs you could survive random Ice attacks, but whatever. +SDef -SAtk is Careful nature, not Brave. But you should be using Brave anyway. Ice Punch is a requirement on Mankey for Gligar. Dump Rock Slide, Ice Punch is better in every way. Life Orb Diglett is for pussies. Be a man and use Scarf Diglett. Seriously, you don't have the right EVs at all; his Attack stat isn't maxed. Everything your Abra is doing is done better by Misdreavus. Misdreavus is way bulkier, has STAB on Ghost combined with HP Fighting for an unresisted combo, and doesn't have much less Special Attack. In fact, that exact set with fixed EVs and Shadow Ball is what I use right now. Overall, I think your team is good. Logged |

fine use misdrevus. as for mankey, I've always gone with close combat + rock slide when using scarf because of the needed power. when going choice band/life orb its much better to use brick break + ice punch for the coverage since you already have a boosted power. well that just my opinion. |

Edited heaps of stuff again, thanks for the rates (I still need more :D). Edit: Changed stuff again, should Kabuto be Naive or Jolly if I want a +Spe nature? Edit: I am not really liking how well Squirtle is functioning, I might try Murkrow there later. Edited by Earthworm, Jul 14 2008, 04:13 PM.
