Welcome to LC Forum's Rate My Team (RMT) section! Here you can get your team evaluated by the community. Things are pretty laid back here, but there are a few guidelines you should follow:

  • Only post teams here! Fairly obvious, but it has to be said. Only post teams or things directly related to the RMT section in this forum. There's a specific warstory section for those, a Guides section for team-building guides, tier discussion somewhere else... use this space as it is intended.
  • Try to limit the amount of teams you post. That means that as a general rule, a user can have a maximum of 2 active RMTs at a time. This is meant to discourage impulse team-building without thought and immediate posting of the results repeatedly. It's annoying. Of course, this isn't meant to discourage you from posting a new team if you've had some inspiration while using your current team. Just don't post new RMTs every day.
  • Don't gloat too much in your post! It is annoying if people post as if their team is perfect and that they're putting it up here as a public service to the masses. Don't post like that. You can say "My Gligar takes hits well and really supports the team", but don't do "MY Gligar set is so perfect it's the only reason I'm the best battler ever blah blah blah". Remember, RMTs are primarily for getting suggestions, not for looking good.
  • When rating a team, BE RESPECTFUL of new players and try to know what you're talking about. If someone thinks that Magnet Rise Magnemite is legal, don't flame them, help them! If a newbie is being so stupid that they deserve punishment (they almost always won't actually be), mods will take action.

These of course are ALL guidelines. You won't get punished for posting a third team right as your first team has been abandoned and is falling off of Page 1. If you like your Venonat set, I won't go "THATS TOO MUCH GLOATING GRAHH YOU HAVE TO HATE YOUR TEAM!!!". Generally, just don't be stupid and you'll be perfectly fine. Use common sense and enjoy your RMT section!

- Chris & all the other Moderators

Mods: This is a rough draft. Don't hesitate to make suggestions and edit! Non-Mods, feel free to suggest stuff too. If you don't think a rule is fair, speak up! We won't bite!

Dont gloat too much? lol when exactly do you cross the line of being proud of your team and start gloating. I think we need to make sure that is set. I will give you 4 guys using a venonat and what each one says about him:

Guy 1: Venonat fits perfectly in this team and does a great job of sleeping and baton passing. Its hard to find another Pokemon that does this as good as Venonat making him a perfect addition to this team ;)

Guy 2: Venonat is simply incredible. He can fool people into thinking it is a straight out attacker but in reality he sets double status >=). Toxic Spikes and Sleep Powder are so painful. Seriously nothing is better then Venonat when it comes to double powder and baton passing.

Guy 3: Venonat is honestly the best Pokemon you find in LC. He is amazing and I would never replace him. He can completely overpower LC. Really what is there to say? Sleep, Sub, Agility, Baton Pass is so evil =P

Guy 4: Venonat is a pretty solid pokemon to the team as he covers my grass and fighting weakness. Combined with Murkrow who takes his agility passing and resists grass and is immune to psychic makes him the perfect pokemon to add to this team.

Are any or all of these guys crossing over the line?

No gloating should be in general stuff like "This team put me to #4 on the ladder and is unbeatably perfect. It has no flaws and I will never lose with it."

Of course, that is an extreme example, but you know what I mean. People that act like their team is already flawless aren't doing it right; this forum is for advice and suggestions, not for trying to make oneself look good.

Guy 3 is the only one I'd consider as "breaking the rule".

do you think we should have a rule that say when someone is "done" with their team, in other words are not using it anymore, then they should make a post saying so allowing a mod to lock it to prevent someone from bringing back a dead thread.

Nah we will just delete their post and lock the topic if someone does a mass bump on a thread that was dead for quite sometime...

Avoid deleting posts that you'd warn for unless it's like porn or something, that way they can't say we made it up or something.

I'll lock stuff if people ask.

Can we avoid totally idiotic teams?
Like, Diglet @ Leftovers with Magicarp and Feebas on the team.

And completely New players.
like, if theyre so new they've never played before and they're posting a team.

New players we want to encourage. After all, they're the ones that need help the most, right?

Stupid teams like Magikarp / Beldum will be case-by-case, but fit within the idiot rule.

i agree with the top thing. stupid things like that should not be tolerated.

as for newer players, i would like to give them an out line of a team, just locking the topic doesn't seem like a good way to expand on the community. of course, if they say something like" your teh stupidz n00b. hoppip will kick your azz!" then locking the thread would be reasonable.

Nono, by what I ment is they're posting atopic before even playing single match. I don't know.. I think "lurk moar" is a reasonable response. :P Totally kidding, but yeah.

Shouldn't teams have to follow some sort of format? Most experienced people will do this anyways, but it can't hurt to put it as a guideline.

Also, gloating is a farily vague word as people have pointed out. Case by case works, but should this place ever get active... well, case by case isn't the funnest way to do things.

If I want to run a Beldum/Hoppip/Feebas/Sunkern/Magikarp/Bidoof team I will. If you want to give me good advice, I'll follow it. You shouldn't lock topics for people being new to the metagame and thinking that Hoppip is usable. You should lock topics for people either consistantly failing to take good advice, when a topic gets old, or if there is some forum rule breaking going on (ie: flaming, porn links, spamming).

Following this up, there should be a Raters Guidelines topic. They're different.

most experienced players use the format given when you export the text from shoddy battle. we could ask them to do this, i mean, where else would they be making their team?

i wasn't saying that you should lock the thread if that person uses hoppip, but if they are defiant about the fact that their team will not do very well, especially in a negative manner, then the topic should be locked.

Hoppip has it's options. I think...

incase people didn't import, remind them of a format.

Alive, that's what I said as well. My logic was if they're replying in a negative manner, they're probably breaking some other rule anyways. Not that I can find the rules this forum has. =/

PirateDelux, yeah, but not great options. I'm sure you get my example anways. Just replace Hoppip with [sucky LC pokemon].
