KD24 banned Tangela

This is my second team I've made for Little Cup, and it's worked out pretty well for me so far. Bronzor @ Heat Rock Ability: Levitate EVs: 220 HP/4 Atk/148 Def/68 SDef Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Sunny Day - Stealth Rock - Gyro Ball - Earthquake Staple starter- it lays Rocks or Sunny Day, then Gyro Balls and Earthquakes until it goes down. Tangela (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Chlorophyll EVs: 76 HP/200 Spd/200 SAtk Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Solarbeam - Wring Out - Hidden Power [Fire] - Sunny Day There's really nothing that can effectively take this monster on. In sun, it has 30 speed, which outspeeds most everything. Solarbeam is a one-turn move that hits like a truck. HP Fire is boosted by the Sunny Day to make excellent coverage. Wring Out is really a filler move to cover fires that would otherwise hamper a sweep. I'm contemplating changing it up a little to Sludge Bomb and HP Rock/Ancientpower, as they cover most everything that resists Solarbeam. Houndour (M) @ Focus Sash Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 36 Atk/236 Spd/236 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Nasty Plot - Fire Blast - Counter - Dark Pulse Eh, it abuses Sunny Day a little bit, and it hits pretty hard. CounterSash catches a lot of CBers off-guard, which can help. Magnemite @ Life Orb Ability: Magnet Pull EVs: 156 HP/116 Def/236 SAtk Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Magnet Rise - Thunderbolt - Explosion - Substitute With the ubiquity of Bronzor in LC, Magnemite on average gets two kills- one when I off the Bronzor, and one when I explode on the switchin (with a sub up). Rhyhorn (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Rock Head EVs: 236 Atk/236 Spd/36 SDef Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Rock Polish - Earthquake - Stone Edge - Megahorn Rock Polish Rhyhorn will open HUGE holes in a team if it gets a setup turn, making it amazingly useful. It helps provide much needed physical attacks on this team. Wailmer (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Oblivious EVs: 116 HP/196 Spd/196 SAtk Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef) - Water Spout - Hydro Pump - Ice Beam - Earthquake Wailmer can hit really damn hard with Water Spout, and Choice Scarf gives it 22 speed to outspeed most non-scarfed foes. Ice Beam covers Grass-types and Dragons, and EQ is filler and may be replaced soon with HP Electric. |

Back. Will see in the next week or so how much I can contribute.

I think Magby can cause you many problems with a mixed set, I'd look at replacing Wailmer for a reliable fighting resist/magby counter. |

I would think you would want explosion on Bronzor over EQ so you can get to tangela ASAP, although I suppose Heat Rock takes care of that. You don't seem to have many things taking advantage of Sunny Day. I can't think of anything to add off the top of my head, but only having 2 Pokemon taking advantage of it in any way seems like a waste of an item and moveslot. |

Tangela is so absurdly powerful in the Sun that you really don't need anything else covering it. Anyway, Rhyhorn has been replaced with the following: Duck Dinner (Munchlax) (M) @ Choice Band Ability: Thick Fat EVs: 236 Atk/36 Def/236 SDef Brave nature (+Atk, -Spd) - Return - Pursuit - Surf - Fire Blast With Stealth Rocks down, Pursuit will completely negate Choice Scarf Psyduck, the only counter to Tangela. It comes with great SpD, resists Ice and Fire with its ability, and hits hard with a boosted Pursuit. I ran damage calculations- Psyduck has 21 HP- SR does 3 damage each time Dux switches in, and boosted Pursuit hits for 15 damage minimum. The rest of the slots are standard CB Munchlax fare, though Fire Blast hits Bronzor and Surf hits Rock-Grounds. |

So, uh, yeah, obviously when Tangela gets banned you can almost directly substitute in Exeggcute and do the same thing. HP on Wailmer could be Grass for Chinchou. |

This team has been scrapped. I really started this team just so I could get Tangela banned, because I was tired of seeing EVERYONE using it. |
