[SET] name: Mixed Attacker move 1: Thunderbolt move 2: Ice Punch move 3: Cross Chop move 4: Psychic / Fire Punch / Hidden Power Grass item: Life Orb ability: Static nature: Mild / Hasty evs: 196 Atk / 76 SpA / 236 Spe ivs: 0 HP / 1 HP [SET COMMENTS] Elekid is a Pokemon that is very well rounded with a respectable Attack, Special Attack, and Speed stat. Potentially able to hit 11-12 types for Super Effective damage makes Elekid a prime candidate for creating chaos and disrupting teams. Thunderbolt will easily take out any water types such as Staryu and Seel, as well as flying types such as Taillow and more importantly, Murkrow. Using a combination of Thunderbolt and Cross Chop, Elekid can tear quickly through most teams. The last attack depends on what you worry more about. Fire Punch will hit Bug types, although Psychic will be able to hit Posion and Fighting types such as Croagunk. Since many Bug types are also poison, Psychic may be the best option. If you fear Wooper and Rhyhorn, then Hidden Power Grass would be a great option as it easily takes care of both of them. Hidden Power Grass also deals with Hippopotas who can counter Elekid. The IVs depend on if Hidden power Grass is chosen. If so, be sure to give Elekid an HP IV of 1. This is crucial for Life Orb as it limits recoil only to 1 HP a turn. [SET] name: Speedy Gonzales move 1: Thunderbolt move 2: Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Grass move 3: Cross Chop move 4: Psychic / Ice Punch item: Choice Scarf ability: Static nature: Hasty evs: 36 Atk / 236 SpA / 236 Spe [SET COMMENTS] This set differs from the mixed set, as it uses a 28 speed stat to completely outspeed most of Little Cup. Still hitting 12 types super effective, although this time this set is mostly focused on Special Attack. Elekid can completely fool the opponent by using its wide variety of attacks and blazing speed to net you a few kills. [SET] name: Meditate move 1: Meditate move 2: Ice Punch move 3: Cross Chop / Fire Punch move 4: ThunderPunch item: Life Orb ability: Static nature: Jolly evs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe [SET COMMENTS] Meditate is a fantastic move to abuse on Elekid, especially as most of Elekids counters can be OHKOed after 1 Meditate. Ice Punch and ThunderPunch will hit everything in LC for Super-effective damage and Cross Chop will OHKo threats like Munchlax after 1 Meditate. Fire Punch can also be used to OHKO Bronzor. [OTHER OPTIONS] Elekid also can run a Choice Specs or Band set, but that doesn't make great use of Elekids mixed sweeping abilities. Focus Punch is a decent option but Cross Chop will OHKO Munchlax anyway so it is not necessarily needed. Charge Beam can be used to boost Special Attack. [EVS] Just focus on Speed, Attack, and Special Attack. Elekid has no defenses to make use of and should be much more concerned with building up its attacking power. [OPINION] Elekid is a very potent sweeper in Little Cup, and should never be underestimated. Elekid is about as diverse as you can find in Little Cup and it coupled with High Speed and Attack, a threat to watch out for. [COUNTERS] Wooper is Elekids best counter. Able to OHKO Elekid with Earthquake, while being immune to his most powerful attacks. Chinchou also makes a decent counter, as only Cross Chop will cause it trouble. Rhyhorn can somewhat counter although Hidden Power Ice will make short work of him. Switching Diglett into an electric attack will always allow Diglett to kill Elekid without a problem. Bronzor also can take an attack and OHKO back with Earthquake. Minor Edits, spelling and wording. ~Dixie Edited by kd24, Aug 5 2008, 05:46 PM.

Counters are a bit thin at the moment, as we discussed wooper can be a good counter should you invest in defence and it OHKOs with EQ, Chinchou can switch in anything but cross chop and cripple it with Twave, Bronzor can take two/three hits from it and probably OHKOs with EQ. A +Speed nature is also an option since it can hit 20 speed which outspeeds stuff like Murkrow (SPunch can make this irrevelant), Staryu, Magby and I think Gastly and Misdreavus. A pure physical set may also be a good addition, it could make use of subpunch too although you may want that in other options along with charge beam |

I think HP Grass is a good option on both sets, Grass probably has better type coverage in LC. |

Added in the counters. Hidden Power Grass also can take out Rhyhorn and Wooper so I am adding that. Thanks guys. Also I wish to get more input on a pure physical set and a Focus Punch set. For now they both will be in Other Options. |

i'd like to see a set dedicated to a pure physical set still, ice/electric/fighting is THE most comphrensive tri-type coverage provider and the last attacking move is basically filler anyway. And it does hit stuff like Bronzor hard after a meditate. I'd just add a bit into Opinion about great type coverage and pad it out a bit, the Voltorb comparison is unwarranted IMO, I'd drop it. this should be approved soon, just needs minor additions. Sadly the EVs on the first set are not possible. To max attack would require 252 EVs exactly, which does not allow you the luxury of putting anything into special attack. Also, wouldn't a Hasty nature be better for the Scarf set? You'd hit 20 speed, which really does make you faster than anything in LC, and you'd only lose a special attack point. |

Gah, I hate the phrase "breaking walls", especially since in LC walls can be broken in repeated hits anyway. Just say that its wide movepool allows Elekid to hit many Pokémon for Super-Effective damage. |

There should be an IV listing on the first set. Elekid has the ability to lower his HP to 19 with no HP IVs (or one if you're using HP grass) so life orb will only do one damage each turn instead of two.

3 HP is better for the first set, it gives HP grass power 70 not 69. How would SubSalac/Petaya or Specs/Band sets work? Opinion needs expanding, Counters needs revenge killers and.... EVs needs a bit more explanation on why to use low HP ivs. |

I don't really remember what I meant, I think I just wanted to write an Elekid analysis. |
