Team Bulldozer The main aim of this team is to draw out an opponent’s priority users, take them out and begin spreading paralysis to aid the sweep of my favorite Pokémon, Cacnea. Even though I aim for a Cacnea sweep, this is not always the case as my other Pokémon are quite capable of trucking it on their own with the right support. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/plmfa/100.png Voltorb @ Focus Sash Ability: Static EVs: 236 Spd/ 240 SAtk Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef) -Taunt -Thunder Wave -Thunderbolt -Explosion Role Summary- I consider Voltorb to be one of the best supporting leads is LC because it can fit many roles. My main goal with Voltorb is to prevent an opposing lead from setting up Stealth Rocks, paralyzing the lead, then exploding or taking it down with T-Bolt. I usually save Voltorb because I need a Pokémon that can spread paralysis around the opponent’s team quickly. The leads that give me quite a few problems are Bronzor leads and Fake Out leads. When facing Bronzor I usually just taunt it then switch out to something that can take an EQ, but against Fake Out leads, I switch to Gastly to take the Fake Out, and then work around the situation from there. I switch out from Fake Out leads because my sash could aid in the spreading of paralysis around the opponents team. The paralysis support is a boost to my next Pokémon....... http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/plmfa/331.png Cacnea @ Life Orb Ability: Sand Veil EVs: 236 Spd/236 Atk/36 Def Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) -Swords Dance -Seed Bomb -Sucker Punch -Brick Break Role Summary- This is the absolute star of the show. A single SD skyrockets its attack to a massive 38 and with LO that 38 becomes a beastly 49! That is an easy 2HKO on every single Pokémon in LC. It usually doesn’t come out until the priority users are dealt with and paralysis is spread around. Once the conditions are favorable, Cacnea can wreak havoc on the opposing team. One Damage Calc- Max Atk Cacnea (Brick Break) vs. Max Hp/Max Def Bronzor = 56%(Min) ->64%(Avg)->72%(Max) [A clean 2HKO] If I can get a smooth 2HKO on the best wall in LC, then I have no problems with the others. Cacnea is an absolute beast with the right support. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/plmfa/50.png Diglett @ Focus Sash EVs: 236 Spd/ 36 SAtk/ 236 Atk Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def) -Stealth Rock -Sucker Punch -HP Ice -Earthquake Role Summary –Diglett IMO is one of the most potent revenge killers in LC. It is in the highest speed tier with only 3 Pokémon, so it doesn’t have to worry about getting out sped but only the occasional speed tie. Sucker Punch for obvious priority, Earthquake for the STAB and HP Ice for Gligar. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/plmfa/458.png Mantyke @ Oran Berry EVs: 194 HP/ 196 SAtk/ 120 SDef Ability: Water Absorb Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) -Surf -HP Flying -Ice Beam -Protect Role Summary – Mantyke is one of my important Pokémon because it draws out Croagunks who are the bane of Cacnea’s sweep. Tossing Surfs around anyhow is sure to draw out Croagunk sometime soon, so HP Flying on the expected switch-in and instant-KO! With the bulky spread I created, a Max Special Attack Croagunk’s +2 Life Orbed Vacuum Wave can only 4HKO but 6HKO after Oran Berry. I decided against any Defense EV’s because a Sucker Punch coming off a MixPlot Gunk (those seem to be the most common) can do at most 13 HP of damage (56%). This is really the glue of the team because it draws out most priority and deals with it appropriately. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/plmfa/239.png Elekid @ Shed Shell/Life Orb EVs: 92 Atk/ 160 SAtk/ 240 Spd Ability: Static Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def) -Hidden Power (Ice) -Thunderbolt -Quick Attack -Cross Chop Role Summary – This is MixKid, the fastest non-scarved Pokémon in LC (Alongside Diglett and Voltorb). It is purely epic. HP Ice is for Gligar and Dragons who want to rain on my parade with Outrage. Thunderbolt is for obvious STAB and dealing with Water types, Quick Attack is there for obvious priority and Cross Chop is for any Munchlax who thinks they can wall me. If any of my main sweepers gets knocked out, Elekid comes out to clean up the mess. It’s more of my clean-up sweeper. Shed Shell for escaping from those pesky Diglett’s Arena Trap, but I’m currently debating this over Life Orb because I lose out on some KO’s which could turn the tide of the match. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/plmfa/92.png Gastly @ Choice Scarf EVs: 76 Atk/ 196 SAtk/ 196 Spd Ability: Levitate Naive nature -Sludge Bomb -Thunderbolt -Shadow Ball -Explosion Role Summary- This is my scarfed revenge killer. It’s as plain as that. Using a choiced Pokémon always takes a level of prediction, but if used correctly, it can wreak complete chaos on the other team. It can also function well as a late game sweeper, after the priority users and Pursuiters are dealt with. This is my first LC team and it’s been doing okay on Wi-Fi, and I’m moving it to Shoddy soon, so I wanted to tweak it first because I hear LC on Shoddy is much more competitive than on Wi-Fi. So rip this team apart, point out every flaw, give your opinion on how to fix that flaw and the reason why you chose that solution. But no flaming, trolling or retarded comments like “Cacnea sucks, use Cranidos cuz it RULEZ!!!” |

22nd Time is always the Charm
|
you may be wondering why this hasn't been looked at yet... we moved to smogon, however once my coursework is done over the weekend i will have a look at it anyway and say some additions as it looks like a thorough read, just as a note when you get into lc on shoddy yes it is more competitive, but it also changes alot, every week a new poke is on the market so teams that you make may be out of date some sets on shoddy you might not be able to get in wifi as you need like all games so my lookover will be primarily for shoddy use but can be used in wifi if appropriate ways are found. just glancing at it, the team on a whole look great, i'm not just saying that, a great basic team that follows the lc fast metagame with all 20 speed users on there too, that might be your weakness i'll go into more depth later |
