I'm far too used to the standard OU metagame and needed a change of pace, so I wanted to try Little Cup. Only problem is, there are some illegal combinations in LC that are commonly used in the NFE tier. I'm more used to NFE movests that are above level 5, but I really would like to try my hand at a LC Team instead. On top of that, it would help me get past the LC tournament in PBR. Help me please? I'm kinda new at this. 1. Murkrow is considered Uber (teir list: http://s1.zetaboards.com/The_Little_Cup_Forum/topic/538191/1/) although it won't matter in PBR. 2. body slam and Belly drum are illegal on poliwag. 3. Fake out and reversal are illegal on makuhita. 4. illegal moves (minus moves learned over level 5) http://z3.ifrm.com/114/106/0/p69834/LC_illegal_movesets.txt I may be wrong, someone will correct me if I am though. I'm well aware that Murkrow is Uber, though this is one of only two lists I've seen that list him in the Uber tier. Other lists have the other five, but not Murkrow. I figure if it's PBR it won't matter, cuz people use whatever they feel like, but I will find an alternate for real competitive play. For Poliwag & Makuhita, do you mean the two moves individually or together? I can live without Body Slam on Poliwag, but Makuhita kinda needs Fake Out and Reversal to work the way I need it to. I'm not sure if either of these violate "egg breeding" rules or "over level 5" rules. Edited by Nintendude331, Jul 1 2009, 03:27 AM.

You cannot get them. Maybe fake out is a d/p only egg move and reversal is emerald move tutor. |

Fake Out and Reversal are both level up moves for Makuhita. And Poliwag is ok so long as it's w/o Body Slam? |

Bellywag is okay, but it's pretty bad now that Croagunk (which is REALLY common) kinda walks all over it with Priority. Makuhita is too slow to do anything with that set, for the most part. Its best set is Fake Out / Bullet Punch / Ice Punch / Close Combat @ Flame Orb or Toxic Orb, as it provides solid priority and doesn't rely on Makuhita's crap speed. Murkrow is Uber, and therefore banned. |

Hm... I'm gonna look into Croagunk now. That intrests me. And I know Makuhita is too slow. This is a FEAR set I'm testing for it. Fake Out for some priority damage, Focus Sash to hold on from whatever attack would kill me, then Reversal for big damage, and Bullet Punch for KO. Rock Slide is mostly filler. I'm still testing it, and I have no idea if the moveset is legal or not for LC. I say again, I know Murkrow is Uber. I'm going to find a replacement for him for competitive play, but on PBR's Wifi it doesn't matter. |

Makhuita is a bit meh you're much better off using Mankey or Machop who can deal damage without having to be low on health first. |

Just for refference, EVs don't work the same way as the do in OU. You might want to read the EVs in Little Cup guide to get a bearing on how they do work. |

It seems that you are waaaaay to behind and not in check with the latest mons. Firstly, Bellywag requires you to take down every priority mon on their team+ get a turn or two free. makuhita is not gonna work, especially with the n number of priority users which will KO you on your sash. I cant say anything about Murkrow, I joined after it was banned, but the general consensus is that SubKrow is the best set for it. Also you'd need a lead that is either a) something that sets stuff like SR or screens(Bronzor) or even weather up(Voltorb) or b) something disruptive like Fake-Turners(Meowth) or more specified ones like LeadDour. Murkrow would be fine, and something like a ScarfMachop with Dynamic Punch / Payback / Ice Punch / BP would be good for cleaning up. Meh, take my advice at your own risk. |

The main difficulty for me is the "standard" of any battling environment. 6 pokes, some of them looking exactly the same as all the other teams out there, duking it out with the same sweepers, walls, resistances, and so on. It gets a little repetitive after a while. While I will take your advice into account for the "standard" LC environment, and I will because one day I'd like to try my hand at the standard LC environment, I am looking more for LC contenders in Pokemon Battle Revolution. PBR changes the rules a little, as there are no tiers, no "standard" metagame, and only 3 to 4 pokes are used in a match. This, to me, is an extreme test in intelligence and knowledge of the game. Anyone can use anything in any way. You need to be ready to take on absolutely everything you can think of, seeing as there are no tiers and no normal movesets. My aquaintance Overhazard on YouTube uses a Littles Team on PBR that is illegal in standard LC rulings because it uses Yanma and a Clamperl with Deapseatooth. Yet despite that, she's taken on opponents ranging from NU to Ubers with it and destroyed them. (Yes, she's a girl too.) She uses her favorites and through good prediction and knowledge of how others play the game, she is one of the best I know. That's the kind of team I want to make. The main problem is that there are no forums/groups for PBR at all. Smogon and Serebii are no help at all because they only focus on the sheer power of the fully evolved OU metagame, but Little Cup Forums has provided a good basis for me so far. That's mainly what I'm looking for. Plus, I only asked if the sets were legal, not if they could contend in the LC Standard. EDIT: Before I forget, the only reason that LC Pokes can contend with Ubers in PBR is because all Pokemon enter battle at Level 50, with Stats and EVs kept in the calculations. Well then by your definition it isn't LC at all and we wouldn't really know how to help you :/ We all play on shoddy battle, with level 5 pokemon using our metagame and that's the only way as we know of doing it. |

I will be doing LC in your metagame eventually. I just want to get a slight feel of how they work through PBR's random Wi-Fi lineups and PBR's own version of LC. Once that is taken care of, I will be focusing on the "standard" and coming here for it. So don't worry, as I do intend on possibly apprenticing under someone in the Tutors subsection. I still need to find a place like this for PBR. That would be the most helpful thing ever. |

For competitive battling, the best place is almost easily ShoddyBattle. You dont need to spend/waste time breeding for the perfect mon, just enter the stuff and you're good to go. You require more skill there as since everyone has anything at their disposal, its your team building and general skills that shine, rather than patience to breed endlessly or pay to get a PokeSav. So, like Kannon said, we cant help you with your metagame although, if anything goes you could easily use SD Scyther or Sunny Day Tangela |

Yeah, if there are no restrictions on pokemon, I'd abuse the hell out of Scyther and Tangela for certain, as well as Sneasel, Yanma, Meditite, Clamperl etc depending on your team. |
