Many of you will know that I've been working on the Smogon LC guide for about 7 months. I've managed to create a stable basis of work for it that can be built on and I know the structure of the guide. Here's the deal though, I can't do it by myself and I've had little time to work on it for say weeks at a time rather than a couple of hours here and there on a Saturday evening. I'm going to make a concerted effort to work on this but I need your help. Those who make consistent contributions to this will be acknowledged on here with badges and will get their name accredited in the final article. Here is what needs to be done, perhaps you can volunteer to writing individual sections and cleaning things up. Move Legality section - Check if the information is still relevant to Pt and help make changes, for example I know the Mankey CC + Ice Punch example isn't now applicable to Pt. As this is a short section grammar changes may be helpful. All in all, not much needed here. - Completed by Dragonite24 EV Distributing - Certify information is correct. No need to check grammar for now - Completed by Dragonite24 Standards - Don't worry I will do this Offensive Threat List - Most of it is done already. Just add/remove pokemon to the list in the same formation whilst cleaning up any awkward English. Speed Tiers - don't know the status of eric's work but look into it and make a smaller version of what can be seen currently in UU. Item Analysis - basically list what items are useful in LC, and explain why Leftovers isn't so good, Sash, Oran Berry and 14 Speed Choice Scarfers etc. I think Cooper (?) / EM (?) made progress on this Common Strategies - Quick summary of Rain/Sun and other theme teams and their main tactics and players. Not expecting more than one paragraph per type of team. May include bits of Vader's lern2littlecup guide. Grammar can be checked afterwards and during HTMLisation. I will still help with all sections but please volunteer and help!!! This guide is very important for LC's accessibility. Edited by Dixie, Mar 30 2009, 05:40 PM.

We could ask Swinub and Wild Eep to come and have another look, if they are still around.
This is the main part I am not so sure about, is there any chance it could be moved to a place not between the other info as it will be so long?
Would it be possible to combine with the Standards section?
I need someone to work with on this, I can do much of it but a decent LC player to bounce ideas off and check if certain Pokes are worth including would really help. Also I plan on adding a Priority section as it is so common in LC. It would be possible to have a shortened version for in guide that will be replaced by its own guide at a later stage, since other metagames each have an article for Speed Tiers.
Yes, there is a guide on it. Probably could be cut down a bit if its going to be part of a larger guide.
This is very important, the most important thing we are doing next to the analysis because it has a very good chance of getting on Smogon quickly once it is ready (they already have a guide, this would be a replacement) and be a great draw to potential players. |

I will gladly help with whatever is needed most, what are some of the things I can do? I'd say im very knowledgeable about the current Metagame. Edit: From what I remember, I think some of the Pokemon listed have had their "Standard" sets changed as well, so we should keep that in mind (I think Elekid was one). You can help with the offensive threat list; make a list of what is missing and what is outdated. Common Strategies seems like the best job for you as you've already started on the basic LC guide.
I think you could do Item Analysis I'm don't know how much LC you've played but you could certainly help out by making sure Move Legality is correct. Edited by Dixie, Mar 25 2009, 09:18 PM.

Ill get started on the item analysis. The items in question are: Choice Items, LO, Oran Berry(refer to leftovers here too), Lum Berry, and most importantly Focus Sash, am i missing anything? I could mention the weather items are used only on their respective teams, and light clay is rarely used, because many Pokemon are KOd too easily trying to get the barriers up. |

Scarf, Oran and Sash are the big three. Specs, Band and LO are used on a few things, Lum is rare on leads and Leftys has a couple of users. Light Clay/and the weather rocks are used on teams that need them.
