Hey, what's up?
![]()
|
Hey, my second RMT for LC. This team was made after i got #1 in the ladder, for fun. It was actually really successful for a bit, but not as good as my other two teams i made before it. Sunny Day is actually quite fun with all of the Croagunks and stuff running around. So here it is. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Team Global Warming: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() Stunky (M) @ Heat Rock Ability: Aftermath EVs: 252 HP/12 Atk/244 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Sunny Day - Sucker Punch - Explosion - Taunt --- Summary: When i built this team, i was looking for a faster lead, with the ability to take a hit and Taunt. So i looked around, and looked over a couple, but when i came to Stunky, i knew what i needed to Set up Sunny Day. Taunt+Sucker Punch is a deadly combo, especially with STAB. It can also take a hit, well not an Earthquake, but a hit. I usually keep him alive if i Can, in fact, i rarely use explosion because a late game 8 Turn Sunny day is so useful. As well, Sucker Punch makes him a great late game Clean up. Moveset: Sunny Day is rather obvious, Im using a Sunny Day team. Taunt+Sucker Punch to shut down set up leads. Explosion to break down walls and Bring in my main sweeper. EVs and Nature: EV'd to outspeed what it can, and take a hit or two. Its STAB is usually enough to make Sucker Punch hurt. Explosion as well, always hurts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() Bellsprout (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Chlorophyll EVs: 76 Def/200 Spd/200 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Growth - Solarbeam - Hidden Power [Fire] - Sludge Bomb --- Summary: Bellsprout is my first sun abuser, and all out attacking Wall Breaker Sweeper. It can basically 2HKO anything with a LO Solarbeam, and makes it much easier for my later pokemon to sweep. It doesnt mind the pokemon that use Protect to Stall out the Sun, as they will get hit harder the next turn. Moveset: Growth seems odd, but i already have a Sleep Powder on the team, and this allows me to take advantage of people using Protect or Switching. Solarbeam Hurts, and is stab. HP fire gets sun boosted, and also hurts. Sludge Bomb hits Houndour. EVs and Nature: EV'd for Max Speed/Max SAtk, but put the rest in Defense to possibly take some sort of Priority attack that i need to. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() Oddish (M) @ Oran Berry Ability: Chlorophyll EVs: 156 HP/116 Spd/236 SAtk Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Sleep Powder - Sunny Day - Solarbeam - Synthesis --- Summary: My second Sun abuser, and Set-up. Oddish has very good defenses, So it always gets a Sunny Day off. If i have to take a hit first, It works out fine, because i can just Sleep the Opposing Pokemon and Synthesis 75% of my health Back because of the sunlight. Solarbeam is extremely Powerful too. Moveset: Sunny Day is Obvious, as is Sleep Powder. Synthesis takes advantage of the sun and Oddishes above Average Defenses. Solarbeam for PAIN. EVs and Nature: The EVs are sort of Abstract, but i used all that i could. The HP gives Oddish slightly more hit-taking ability, and the Speed makes it outspeed the 20 Speed Pokemon and Choice Scarfers who beat them at 21. Modest and Max SATK to hurt. Considering slightly more defensive EVs...but idk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() Houndour (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 236 Spd/200 SAtk/40 SDef Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Solarbeam - Dark Pulse - Hidden Power [Ground] - Fire Blast --- Summary: Houndour is my third sun Abuser, though isnt completely reliant on the sun. Houndour is really important on Sunny Day teams, because of its amazing ability; Flash Fire. Flash Fire allows me to take the Fire Attacks aimed at my Grass sweepers. Moveset: Solarbeam is great coverage with Fire, and has 120 BP. Fire Blast and Dark Pulse for STAB, and Hidden Power Ground for other Fire Types, such as Ponyta and Houndour. EVs and Nature: Max Speed, to outspeed other Houndour because i want them to stop blocking my Solarbeams and HP fires. Max SATK is obvious. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() Cranidos (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Mold Breaker EVs: 60 HP/236 Atk/212 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Stone Edge - Zen Headbutt - Pursuit --- Summary: Cranidos is my second Scarfer, and a great one at that. I basically picked Cranidos because he is really good, like really good. It also supplied me with some useful resistances to Fake Out and an Extra Fire Resistance just incase. Moveset: Best Coverage with this set, and i can trap certain Pokemon with Pursuit. EVs and Nature: Max attack, and Max Speed to outspeed other Rampardos, etc. 60 Remaining EVs went into HP. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() Mantyke (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Water Absorb EVs: 76 HP/36 Def/196 Spd/200 SAtk Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Agility - Hydro Pump - Ice Beam - Hidden Power [Grass] --- Summary: Wait, before you yell WTF MANTYKE ON A SUNNY DAY TEAM!!?!, read this. Mantyke has a great ability to take Ground Attacks and, of course, Water attacks. When the Sun isnt up, Carvanha loves to come in and Aqua Jet Cranidos and Houndour, which would KO both of them. Mantyke can take this easily, while also forcing them out and getting a sweep. THe surprise factor with this set is unbeleivable, no one expects it and its Powerful enough to take out 2-3 Pokemon with an Agility late in the game. Its also one of my Switch ins to Croagunk, if Oddish is weak, or if its a Sludge bomb variant. So basically its my Late game sweeper, but weakens its counters early in the game with its great switch in power. The Sun draws out its counters too, like some Munchlax. Moveset: Agility set from the analysis (Which i wrote, and actually based that set off of this). HP grass hits Chinchou who likes Switching in, while Hydro Pump Murders things. Ice Beam hits the odd Grass switch ins, like the increasingly popular Paras. EVs and Nature: Max SAtk+Speed. Remaining EVs in HP because Mantyke is so bulky. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for reading, Rate/Hate/Steal! Edited by HeYsUp, Apr 12 2009, 09:07 PM.

your team has literally nothing that can switch into Diglett without having to predict what move it will use. If you predict wrong you lose Mantyke to Rock Slide, your Grass Types to HP Ice, and any of your other pokemon to EQ. For this I would suggest using a Pure Grass type over Oddish or Bellsprout, and possibly switch Cranidos for Koffing or Bronzor. You also have major problems with TR team staples, such as Cubone, Trapinch, and Munchlax and Koffing and Bronzor can help there as well. Consider a Dual-Screen lead to switch in your Sunny Day'er from to make it easier to set up the sun. EDIT: You also have problems with Croagunk 2HKOing your Grass-Types with Sucker Punch and EQing all of your Dark-resists and using Mantyke as setup fodder. Edited by Kannon, Mar 8 2009, 08:49 PM.

Hey, what's up?

I dont know what you mean, "nothing can switch into Diglett". Of course not, i cant switch if im Arena Trapped. But Oddish can survive an unboosted EQ, and HP Ice Tickles them both. And Croagunk is not a problem for any Sunny Day team due to dry skin. Mixgunk cant 2HKO Mantyke with Sucker Punch either (does ~45%). Where as Ice Beam does around 80% to Croagunk, so its really a non-issue. Edited by HeYsUp, Mar 8 2009, 09:21 PM.

This looks as if it's a really good team, but there are a few changes that should be addressed. I personally like Flamethrower over Fire Blast, as well a more defensive EV spread on Oddish. Special Bellsprout is also outclassed by the Physical set. Just my two cents!

Thank you sir. Ill try a Physical set in the sun, but SolarBeam outways the 1 Attack point, as well as having HP Fire and a secondary STAB move. Fire Blast OHKOs certain Pokemon that FF doesnt, so its personal preference I guess. |

Flamethrower is better, in my opinion, because you don't want to miss and you have enough power already. Under the sun, it's pretty beastly already. If you're concerned about special attacks, though, if you're using Special Bellsprout you might as well be using Eggxecute because it has a better STAB, higher Defense, and Explosion. Koffing over Manytke seems to make sense because Mantyke is slowing your Sunny Day team down while doing essentially the same thing.

Exeggcute has base 60 SpAtk. Bellsprout has base 70 SpAtk 60 maxes out at 1 point lower then 70. If your using Exeggcute it's because of Explosion. It doesn't have room for STAB on a Sunny Day sweeper set. Edited by TPM, Mar 25 2009, 11:07 PM.

I could try Koffing, but it cant fill the role of *Sweeper* though. |

Cybie still has much to learn. Eggy should only be used over sprout if Munchy gives you hell. This team is good not much to change |

i miss addie ;_;

Munchlax does wall this team to hell. Nothing can take it on except Cranidos or a Stunky Explosion, and neither of those can switch in on Earthquakes. Also, don't call people newbies. |

Protect variants get 2HKOd by Bellsprout, and Oddish sleeps it if it comes in after a kill. Munchlax cant switch into anything other than Hidden Power Fire, too be honest, because Sludge Bomb+SolarBeam OHKO even Oran Berry Munchlax (still 2HKOs protect Variant). Munchlax is not the biggest issue in the world tbh. |

Well some people consider Pokemon that much better due to explosion, but there are really only 3 usable Chlorophyll Pokemon. |
