The First of the Tormented Souls
|
As Jack awoke, he looked down upon the land below to see that he was above the Prasian Training Grounds, a large facility used by the Praessers to break in their new recruits. He decided it was about time he did something to help stop this war, even if he had to take sides with one of the opposing factions. He got out of bed, went out to the waterfall for a shower, dried himself off, pulled on his clothes, and ate his breakfast ration for the day. He then moved over to the Flight Stone, and when he touched it, the huge island-ship came to an abrupt halt, just next to a large hill that overlooked the Grounds. He grabbed a large crystal from atop his desk, and placed it into a small hole in the side of the island. The area where he had put it began to change. He grabbed the crystal, put it in his pocket, and held onto a small recess in the pillar that was forming as it began descending towards the ground. It stopped roughly three feet from the ground before he let go. As his feet touched the ground, he saw a small group of soldiers coming up the hill towards him. He could tell by their faces and by the guns pointed at him that they were not used to visitors. But in his usual way, he just smiled at them and raised his hand. "Greetings! I'm Jack, I wanna help out with the War. Need a pair of extra hands?" |

((They dont have guns, they are a keyblader army xP)) The golden armored squad held Keyblades at the ready, the tips of their jackal shaped helmets glinting in the sun. The captain, noted by a varying emblem on his belt that clearly didnt match the rest stepped forward, his weapon how ever was not present. "Well we usually accept new recruits because if we didn't, Caliga would have far greater numbers then us. So yes we could use a pair of hands. However frankly Prasians aren't as stupid as those Caligans think us, so we need to take preventive measures, hence the armed unit you see before you. Before we let you in HQ you need to answer a few pre-lim Qs." He greeted with a slightly gruff voice, evidence that behind the helmet he was a male. His hands held behind his back and standing with an upright posture he continued to ask, "What is your intent of joining us? Whoa and what exactly are you? Which world do you hail from? And what kind of vessel is that? HQ haves half the mind to shoot it down." |

He looked at the man's attire, straightened his back and said in a manner quite unusual for him: "I had wanted to end this blasted War without there having to be needless bloodshed, but now I see that that is an impossibility. A War cannot be won without there being casualties, so I came here, as to become one of the best 'bladers this side of the Abyss. As for my name I am J.A.C.K., a Tormented Soul, a member of a group of individuals possessed by the Guardians of the House of Torment. I hail from a far world of which I remember little, and as for my vessel that you see before you, this is my island-ship the Imperium, upon her lies the Great House, the largest and most important House of Torment, because all of the other Houses are linked to it. Though the name be gruesome it is a place of untold beauty, untouched by the flames of War." He touches the pillar and it begins to rise back into the side of the crystal. Then he bowed courteously and continued: "You now know of whom I am, might I ask your name sir?"

"At this point nothing really counts as gruesome. I am Optio Kruger of Second Reconnaissance. Don't let the rank fool you, Reconnaissance are the boys first into the fray around here." The man stated plainly. "I hope you have a place to put that thing, otherwise its going to get torn down overnight for the same reason Caliga doesnt have a giant death ray pointed at us: both sides dont like the large projects each other works on and we both have the power to end it. And boy does this look like a project if ive ever seen one. And before you get all fussy about indestructibility we hear that all the time and when youve seen a guy pick up the heart of a world and condense it through shear will you know nothing is indestructible. Not with their Sovereign and our Umbra. Give me the willies they do." Several of the other soldiers nodded briefly to themselves. Apparently this 'Sovereign' and 'Umbra' had quite the reputation in the war and no doubt would this be all anyone present would hear about them in due time. "Well either way my Legionaries and I shall escort you to base camp to check you out and assign grouping." |

As the group of soldiers turned to lead his way, Jack pulled out the stone in his pocket once more and shined a brilliant light from it onto a large red gem inlaid in the side amidst all of the green, blue and grey of the "ship"'s "hull" and it flew off on it's own, as if it were a cloud, but no one saw or heard it leave, save Jack. He righted himself once again and turned to follow the 2nd Recon. to the facilities for his evaluation to take place. Upon reaching the facilities, he curiously asked: "What is my evaluation composed of, sir? And what, pray tell, are the Sovereign and the Umbra?"

"Your evaluation i and mental and health check to make sure youre suitable as well as to figure out if your a spy or whatnot." The Optio answered and then paused as his security clearance was double checked. It being accepted the group moved on. "Sovereign is the Caligan top dog. That and ironically the single greatest wielder of the forces of Light. Bastards got his mind all warped and thinks they're the good guys. Hes infamous for his Gungir, spears of light he materializes and pierces his enemies. And Umbra is head of our dark-wielding troops. She is often considered the most powerful dark-user and though we dont often trust her, still gotta admit her Draupnir seems to make her unkillable. When one comes out on the field so does the other, then no side sees either of them. Good thing to or we would all likely be dead." Kruger chuckled. He himself wasn't sure if he was joking or speaking literally. |

*Then when do we get started?? Jack said after they were inside the facility. He held out his hand and a large crimson ball of energy came from it, it transformed into a peculiar shape, and when the light faded, his Keyblade was in his hand. "What do I do first sir?" He thought for a split-second and said: "And might I be able to meet Umbra somehow, after my training is completed?" He stood idly by, spinning his Keyblade by the chain, while he waited for a reply to his questions. |

"You'll meet Umbra if you meet Umbra, no one really has much say over the matter but herself." Kruger stated as a few men with simple uniforms and the simple of a leaf on their clothing came in in a hurry. They were the medics and in charge of physical check up. Prasia wasn't concerned with initial fighting ability but if one was suitable to their training requirements. |

"Alright, what do I do sir?" He said as he leaned against a wall. "And more importantly, what are they going to do?" |
