The Institute's finnest
Ooc: Sorry for taking so long, parents. IC: The ship's engine clanked clumsily as it positioned its self into a stable orbit around Traverse Town. The pilot was just gathering a few supplies into a brown satchel when a loud gong-like sound indicated it was ready to teleport him down to the town. Stepping onto the platform he hugged the satchel tightly, this process always made him feel uneasy, and with a flash he found himself on a busy street near a old shop. Sighing with relief knowing he is in one piece, he took out his PDA to review his reason for coming, "Dear Institute, please send help, find Mr. June in Traverse Town for details.". This message was forwarded to him from The Institute. They claimed it wasn't worth their time but Garret believed that it was a perfect opportunity to work with the natives and build a relationship. Placing the PDA into his coat he began strolling down the street humming an unrecognizable tune while scanning the faces of the crowds for no one in particular. Having spotted a man in a red stripped shirt Garret ran up and stood in his path. "Excuse me sir but where might I find the residence of a Mr. June?" He asked with a smile. After the uncomfortable explanation, Garret jogged off in the direction indicated by the stranger. Garret soon found his way to the right house and rang the doorbell. The door creaked open reveling a short middle-age man with buzzed blond hair peering out through the barely opened door. "Whata want boy, I'm waiting for a very important visitor." He growled. "Well that's me sir, I am Captain Danton from the Institute, may I come in?" "Oh I'm sorry, yes yes please!" Opening the door he frantically shook Garret's hand, "I'm Mr. June, the one who sent for you." He lead him inside into the parlor where the man offered him a seat in a fancy wooden chair, which Garret accepted happily. The room was quite eloquent with a grand fireplace lighting the entire room giving everything within a red hue. "Now lets just get directly to the point." said Mr. June as he sat in a chair across from Garret. "Recently our town as been subjected to thefts, some major some minor but all still upsetting." Garret leaned back in his chair, stroking his chin quizzically. "Well what has gone missing that is so important that you think you need the Institute's help?". Mr. June scoffed at my question obviously having been insulted by it. "It's not the importance of the objects but the principle that matters, the people want justice.". Saying this he stood up and walked to the fireplace, leaning onto it as he stared into the flames. "The people are frustrated. The thought that law and order is fading from our society have some the townsfolk feeling uneasy and by not being able to find and prosecute this criminal, well, it doesn't help." Mr. June closed his eyes and grunted angrily. "No one can find the suspect, not even a single clue." He looked up towards Garret, "Will you help bring this criminal to justice?" Garret shifted in his chair and inhaled deeply. "Well..." He lightly scratched his cheek as he thought. "I guess I could see what I can do." Garret agreed with a smile. "Great!" Cheered Mr. June, "I can't thank you enough Captain!" Jumping to his feet Garret popped his neck and stretched. "Yes yes you can thank me by giving me a complete list of all reported items missing." "Oh yes of course." Mr. June disappeared into the back room but quickly reemerged with a small envelope. "Here's the details and everything since 5 o'clock yesterday." "Perfect" exclaimed Garret and he snatched the envelope and placed it in his pocket. Garret spun on his heels and headed for the door. "Do you need me to assist you?" Mr. June called after him. "Nope." And with that Garret closed the door behind him. "Ok lets see what we've got." Garret said to himself while he opened the envelope as he walked. "First things to go missing were the arms and legs of 14 statues that were on display for an art show near the fountain. Odd but whatever, I'll head there first." Garret quickened his pace. |

The First of the Tormented Souls
Being lost once again, Jack wandered into into an open area with a fountain, he looked around to get his bearings on his map, when, out of nowhere, an odd guy ran into him. "HEY! Watch where you're--- Garret? Is that you? HA HA HA! It is you! It's me Jack! I used to live in Arkhold when I was younger, we used to train together, don't you remember? You told me (imitating voice): "I'm going off in search of a bigger challenge, this stuff is WAY too easy! I'm going to do whatever it takes to find out what makes the world the way it is, & nothing's going to stop me!" That was the last time I saw you, then you went off somewhere... I've had my share of adventures while I've been away, but you, my friend, you're the youngest Captain in the history of The Institute! You made it buddy! But I'm sorry G, Arkhold is no more... It's now referred to as "The City of Broken Hearts": the broken city of Amaran... There were attacks that happened just after we left, hundreds of thousands of Heartless & Nobodies have taken over Arkhold, our city needs help!" Realizing he was still on the ground, he stood up & dusted himself off, then continued. "On another note, I've been tracking the movement of all the Institutes people, but I just found out about you being a part of this... I've reason to believe that the Institute is trying to artificially create Guardians, which greatly disturbs me... Then he looked around. "What odd statues these people make..."
