The Hub began in the early 21st century, the brainchild of one Ryan Fult. It grew from Fult's therapeutic theories, when one of his patients began to develop amazing powers. There was a rush of publicity when several other patients began to develop similar powers, and Fult allowed scientists to test their capabilities. For several months, Fult disappeared from the public eye, seemingly at random.

By year's end, Fult had emerged from hiding with a religious book published by his name: an organization quickly propped up around his writings. The organization wrapped the books in secrecy, and it quickly became known that to appreciate the later teachings, you would have to have gone through the earlier steps, slowly. The few who had been following his book when initially published were found to have gone insane. The Hub took on it's name because it sought to provide a central hub, a common ground, to the world.

Nearly a hundred years later, The Hub has been under several leaders after Fult died, and has attracted criticism from various fronts. These include a small segment of people who think The Hub runs a conspiracy to silence their critics, fundamentalists who believed the source of their power was satanic in origin, and churches, who believed that The Hub did not do as much charity work as it could with the money it gained. The Hub is the third largest religion in the world, following Christianity and Hindu, and narrowly edging out Muslim.
