Hello Kendra and the rest of you ladies. I feel retarted on this site. I cant seem to manouvre through it. But I will keep trying. The girls and I will be joining Scott in Vail for the next two weeks, we are actually staying just outside Vail in this little podunk town called Minturn. Say a prayer that we dont get cabin fever. - Jules

Julie: why are you having problems? You seemed to post here just fine. Like I said this is a no frills board.

Ok, here's what's going on with me. I'm having bad back problems. I helped move furniture in my house about seven weeks ago. Ever since then my back has hurt. I couldn't go to work for a few days. I have been going to the chiropractor ALOT. Ususally it helps (actually it did but I still have pain) but this time not so much. I have had back problems all my life. I got x-rays and as originally known, I have a bad structure problem. So I went to the regular dr. He looked at my x-ray and said you have Spina Bifida (split spine in latin) so one of my vertebrae is split in have horizontally and overlaps itself. Below that is a hole where there should be bone. I also have a spine that does not curve enough in the lower back. Also a couple of the bones off the vertebrae are crooked. I don't know the name of these. So yesterday I had an MRI. I won't know results for awhile because my dr. is on vacation next week. So I'm scared. What if this pain lasts the rest of my life? Can I keep working? It hurts mostly to sit. Although it hurts all the time sometimes. It comes and goes. Sometimes it hurts alot then a few minutes later it can feel better. I am on Celebrex (anti-inflamatory) and he gave me some pain pills too. I haven't taken any of those yet. I won't unless I have to. I don't want to start popping pills for the rest of my life. This is something that obviously won't go away and I'm not sure anything can be done about it. The dr. said I'm at high risk of injury and all the things I do at work I shouldn't be doing. He said even picking up a piece of paper I can injure myself. So you see why I'm scared. I've known about this since I was 18 and have had flare ups before but a coulple of adjustments and it went away. This time it's not. I don't know what else to do. Even sitting here now hurts. My chiropractor doesn't think it is too big a deal but I usually bounce back pretty quick. So that's my story for now. I don't want to have to go on disability or something. I'd rather be able to work. I'm gonna have to see what happens I guess.

Hi Kendra, sorry to hear about your back! I've had problems in the past and I can say there is nothing worse. What's the lastest?

Well it's getting alittle better. Only hurts on one side now. It's mostly my leg. I'll see the Dr. next week and see what the results of the MRI are.

So I did something saturday night again to my back. I went to a different chiro. this time and he is an accupuncturist too. So I got that and it has helped so much in just one visit. I was in alot of pain yesterday. Just in some pain today. I'm going to regular dr. tomorrow to try and get the results of the MRI. I'm going to ask him if he will ok disability, just until I'm better. Working is so hard. The chiro. thinks it's a injured disc. If that's the case then I shouldn't be working right now. I'm really sick of being in pain.

So if anyone is reading this besides me here is the latest. I have a disk herniation that is 7 mm sticking out. So I'm still going to the chiro/accupunturist and it's helping. I'll be off work for at least a month at this point. I have to lay down alot which I'm already sick of but what am I gonna do?

Diane, umm that is the point here, to say something! LOL You aren't stupid! My back is getting a little better. The herniation is not going to go back in though. So I have to keep the inflamation down so I am not in pain. When you herniate your disk not only does it push out into the nerve it also tears. So there is alot of healing involved. It takes a long time, usually months. At least I'm getting the right treatment now.
