Periodically, we will choose a book to read and discuss together. Discussions will be posted every week on certain chapters of the book. For participating in at least half of the discussions, you will receive a Community card worth 3. I would like to start the first book at the beginning of June, so I would like to take suggestions for the next few weeks, then we can vote on the book, leaving about 2 weeks for everyone to get a copy. So, I'd like for you to suggest a book here. Please make it one that you've never read, perhaps one that you've been wanting to read but haven't gotten around to just yet. Please give the name of the book, the author, and a description of the novel, perhaps copied from Amazon.com or something. You may offer as many suggestions as you like! |

I think we should do female authors, or at least do a female author for the first book. Some contemporary writers I like are Libba Bray, Meg Cabot, Sarah Dessen, Maureen Johnson, Carolyn Mackler, Sarra Manning, and Louise Rennison. Anything by Maureen Johnson or Sarra Manning I would recommend especially, because their books tend to be cheaper/not books in a series, as opposed to the others I listed. |

I would be interested in reading a female author's book. Are there any ones by any of the authors you listed that you haven't read yet that you could give us some titles or brief descriptions for? |

The only Maureen Johnson books I haven't read are Devilish and The Bermudez Triangle. I've read all the available Sarra Manning books that aren't in a series. Sarah Dessen will have a new book out in June, Along for the Ride, for the future, perhaps? We could start with a classic, like a lesser known Jane Austen? I've always wanted to read Mansfield Park. |

I've also always wanted to read Mansfield Park. The classics are some of my favorites. I also want to read Rebecca by Daphne Dumaurier, so there is a possibility. |

Rebecca is good, I wouldn't mind rereading it. I rushed through it the first time. |
