You probably heard by now that Lisa Hontiveros distributed anti-Marcos books to high school students. Wala na ba siyang mabola? Pinunterya na lang niya ang mga estudyante? I'm sure this was a lame attempt meant to increase the opposition to Marcos burial at Libingan ng mga Bayani.

American Professor: Sen. Hontiveros is Poisoning the Minds of Young Generation
September 6, 2016
From: http://okd2.com/american-professor-sen-hontiveros-poisoning-minds-young-generation/

American professor and former member of Mariano Marcos State University Board of Trustees slams Senator Risa Hontiveros for distributing anti-Marcos books to senior high schools students.

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Professor Mathew Hughes said Hontiveros action is a criminal offense as quoted in LA Times.

“The Filipino people voted her as senator, not an activist who poison the minds of young generation by distributing black propaganda against the former president,” Hughes said.

Hughes also added that the book is published by a person who had personal grudge against the Marcoses, and not the voice of the Filipino people.

“I think the Department of Education does not authorize to distribute such book that contains black propaganda. I think DepEd should ban the book and not allow any people, including a sitting politician to use students for their personal motives”, Hughes added.

Prof. Hughes taught Sociology at University of the Philippines – Diliman, from 1969 to 1973, and had been a member of MMST Board of Trustees shortly from 1973 to 1974 during the height of Marcos’ administration.

“The Duterte administration should seriously look into this. Hontiveros could face multiple charges like rebellion, abuse of authority, and sedition among others if this happened here in the US, Japan, or in other democratic European countries. This is just unacceptable. Marcos Jr’s highly promising election result shows that the Filipino people does not need someone like Hontiveros to lecture them about martial law. It’s clear that the Senator is using young people for personal interest”, Hughes said.

Citizen Watch Group Readies Five Administrative Cases Against Risa Hontiveros Over Anti-Marcos Book
September 8, 2016
From: http://okd2.com/citizen-watch-group-readies-five-administrative-cases-risa-hontiveros-anti-marcos-book/

Senator Risa Hontiveros’ act of distributing anti-Marcos book on high school students met serious reaction, after Citizen Watch Group respond with administrative cases.

On Tuesday, CWG legal council Atty. Pacifico Moises said his client is preparing to slap the senator with five administrative cases against the senator.

Moises said, among the charges are grave abuse of authority, political corruption, and oppression. He also said they are finalizing the other two. The lawyer also added that a separate case about Philhealth funds allegedly used by Hontiveros during her campaign period might be filed.

“We believe Sen. Hontiveros action is against her oath as a senator of this country. I think she is gravely abusing her authority. Only the department of Education has the right to distribute books among students, and even privately donated books must seek DepEd’s approval”, Moises said.

Moises also said that Hontiverous has no direct jurisdiction on students, whether in public or private schools.

Hontiveros earlier has distributed the anti-Marcos books among Quezon City high school students, and promised to continue doing so in her six-year term as a senator.

Citizen Watch Group is a non-government, non-partisan, and non-religious organization that focus on monitoring social, political, and civil welfare of the Filipino people.

“Although many believed that former president Ferdinand Marcos committed serious crimes during Martial Law, our politicians should leave everything to history and they should not influence the minds of younger generation”, CWG Tomas Bautista said.

“It is a criminal offense against the Filipino people if a politician uses his/her position and authority to gain his/her personal satisfaction, and we believe that what Sen. Hontiveros is doing is purely personal,” Bautista added.

Moises is expected to submit the papers on the Office of the Ombudsman on Monday. By then, Hontiveros camp will only be informed once the cases are filed. /Dave Salamanca – Quezon City

Our elite Catholic millennials seem to be so full of hate on this issue. But where were they when the PDAF/DAP, Mamasapano massacre, etc came out. Wala ni isang nag-rally. Mga Katoliko pa man din kayo. Didn't the Catholic Church teach us to forgive? Kayong mga pari at mga madre ini-encourage pa ninyo silang mag-rally. SHAME!

Walang wala ba siyang nagawang kabutihan? Enjoy nyo ba yung 13th month bonus ninyo? Pres. Marcos signed the 13th Month Pay into law. Japan gave the most foreign aid to the Philippines more than America & China ever did. Drop your hate. God forgave us for all our sins. Why can't you? Kayong mga pari at madre, wag ninyong turuan ang mga bata na mamuhi at maghiganti. Didn't Jesus teach us to "turn the other cheek"? Mga "people of the cloth" pa man din ang turing sa inyo pero anong ginagawa ninyo?
