We watch prime time news on TV, read the papers, listen to the news on the radio while driving to work and read about current events online. We are surrounded literally by good and bad news everyday. From all the news we are exposed to day in and day out we form opinions which often go unspoken. This is your chance to voice your opinions about some of the news you come to know. From everyday news we draw lessons which shape our opinions. The opinions that you post here should contain those lessons learned that you draw from the news.

Let me start with this:

NEWS: The lines of people buying the new Apple iPhone 6 on the first day it became available was about 10-block long. There were also FOUR MILLION pre-ORDERS. One man waited 44 hours in line for an iPhone 6 to try to win back his wife. If that's the state of his relationship I doubt giving her an iPhone 6 will help. Australian Jack Cooksey waited in line overnight to be the first to buy Apple's new iPhone, only to drop the phone on LIVE TV during an interview with Channel Nine. The new iPhone 6 models cost as much as P117,585 in Pinas. Gold iPhone 6 units are selling for upwards of $3,600 on Chinese black market. You must be really stupid, even if really rich, if you spent $2,700 on a phone. But what do I know. I don't think I will ever understand this Apple iPhone madness. If you get one, let's hope you don't drop it. :harhar: If you're changing your iPhone 5 with iPhone 6 just for an inch let's hope your girlfriend won't do the same.

LESSON LEARNED: It's OK or acceptable to camp out for an iPhone 6 but it's crazy & obsessive to camp out for tix to a band concert.

NEWS: A cop in Pangasinan a few weeks ago massacred people in a school there.

LESSON: Don't borrow money from a cop or anyone who owns a gun. If you really have to, pay him back on time.

NEWS: Impeachment of Corona, PN0Y

LESSONS Learned from all the IMPEACHMENT Cases Filed in the Senate and House of Reps:
Only misdeclaration of SALN (attention Corona) is impeacheable. But not for doing something unconstitutional by someone who is supposed to protect the Constitution. Gotcha! So DAP and Betrayal of Public Trust are not an impeachable offense. People, wake up and smell the coffee! Maging aral sa inyo yan! HeHe...One other lesson, Congressmen do not even have to read the impeachment complaint before signing as long as the pork keeps coming.

Our kids should also get a lesson from this impeachment:
Listen up kids. If you become the president and someone tries to impeach you, you can avert the impeachment. It's ok to be bad just make sure Congress is yours.

Another lesson for all of us after the other PN0Y's impeachment proceedings in Congress:
Our "democracy" today is insufficient in form and substance.

NEWS: Cong. Umali wants to impeach CJ Sereno and 5 other SC justices for displeasing the House. Cong. Neil Tupas admits some Supreme Court justices may face impeachment for illegal use of judicial funds. Here come Noynoy's attack dogs.
LESSON LEARNED: What power can do to men with little minds and tall presidents.

House security accosting protesters after the voting killing the impeachment complaints vs PN0Y

NEWS: Cong. Quimbo said about the impeachment:
Quote:

It's never a numbers game. If it were, we could've dismissed (impeachment complaints) to form.

Tell that to Gloria, Mister! :rollonflr:

Lesson learned from Cong. Quimbo and his ilk: Congressmen can lie through their teeth about anything even when the truth or reality hits them upside the head.

Post your own LESSONS from the news, Filipiners! :ty:

NEWS:
Person with disability and guide dog refused entry to mall
http://www.rappler.com/move-ph/67569-people-disability-service-dog-mall-access
The man involved in this story is a foreigner (Mark Cohen) and he was refused entry to Robinson's Dumaguete because he was with Happy, his assistance dog. "It's very unusual for anyone here to see a Guide Dog or an Assistance Dog. People are only starting to realize that there [are] PWDs who need wheelchairs, walkers, white canes, or specially trained and certified assistance dogs," Cohen said.

Meantime, back in America:

Starbucks apologizes for not letting woman's service dog into store
https://tinyurl.com/qdv66db
Starbucks has apologized to a 24-year-old woman who said she wasn't allowed in a Rochester-area store because she had a service dog. Kaplan suffered a traumatic brain injury in a traffic accident, and the dog helps her cope with memory issues and anxiety. A Starbucks official told Kaplan in an email that he wanted to personally apologize. Per existing law, the dog could not be barred from the facility.

LESSON LEARNED:
Mall officials are a curious breed in Pinas. They don't know how to apologize. In America, business and mall owners bend over backwards to please their customers. In Pinas, the customers bend over backwards to please the mall and business owners. Many mall and business owners or management in PINAS have no clue what FULL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION is. They don't appreciate their customers. They just want your money. Take for example most SM, Ayala and other MALLS -- they charge mall visitors parking fees instead of thanking them for patronizing their malls by providing for FREE & SECURED parking. What's more disgusting is they don't even give free parking to SENIORs and PWDs. In the U.S. no malls charge for parking. They're just more than happy to have you visiting their malls because the more foot traffic they get in their malls the more revenue they will reap.
