Do you tip or are you one of the people in this worst tippers list? I'm sure you have heard how the Canadians, women and old people are known for being chintzy or tight-wads. And whoever popularized the phrase "Dutch treat" must also be thinking that the Dutch are tight with their money. I have also heard others say how the Jews are the same. These are not my opinion and I recognize them as racial slurs. Gay men say lesbians are the worst tippers but I don't know that first hand. I mentioned these because I am going to talk about tipping and how some people are worst tippers than others. Don't flame me but I think some of the worst tippers are Filipinos & African-Americans. I know that from experience. I was in the service industry at one time and I have not met Filipinos or blacks who are generous tippers. They were all cheap. The Chinese are even worse. If I have to deliver or serve food to people and among them are Filipinos, blacks and Chinese, guess what I would do? They would be the last bunch I'd deliver to or serve food to because I know what to expect from them as far as tips. ZILCH! NADA! ZERO DOLLARS! WALA! MGA BWISIT KAYO! heheh...sorry, I got carried away.

Someone said that world famous golfer Tiger Woods has been voted the world's worst tipper. He has millions and can not leave a tip???!!! It is time someone put him in his place. I've delivered food to some local TV celebrities and they all at least gave me a fin ($5) for tips. But John Cusack, the Hollywood actor, was a non-tipper. When I delivered food worth over $100 to his penthouse, I was drenched. But he didn't bother to even give me a dime for all my trouble. I also heard that basketball legend Michael Jordan and other basketball stars from the BULLS like Scottie Pippin & cross-dressing Dennis Rodman are pretty much non-tippers. I read a recent interview of basketball star from Arizona Charles Barkley in which he said that Michael Jordan doesn't tip. I saw this comment in YouTube:
Quote:

Zac Efron is a HORRIBLE tipper.

There are other notoriously bad celebrity tippers listed here:

The 10 Best and 10 Worst Celebrity Tippers

There are surely some good apples in this rotten Hollywood bunch, including Johnny Depp. While shooting Public Enemies, in Oshkosh, WI, he and his party enjoyed a meal worth $2600. He reportedly left behind a more-than-generous $1500 tip. Looks like a few of Hollywood's elite could stand to learn a thing or two from this gracious guy.

In a book titled "Keep the Change" authored by Steve Dublanica he makes some interesting claims about who generally tips well and who doesn’t. Among the supposed bad tippers: Lexus drivers and rich people. Good tippers include businessmen, pickup truck drivers and anyone who has had to work for tips before. A Las Vegas insider pegs Charles Barkley, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as the most generous, while Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan and Diana Ross are said to be among the worst celebrity tippers. Keep in mind Vegas has its own rules, and almost anyone who helps you with anything is expecting a tip of $2 or more.

To avoid awkward encounters, it’s useful to know when to tip. If you want to keep the valet happy, don’t wait until after you pick up the car – tip him as you hand over the keys. And it’s best to tip hotel maids each day rather than in a lump sum at the end of a stay. It’s difficult not to feel for the fast-food deliverer who earns less than minimum wage and pays for his own gas & insurance. Plus you must also consider the beating it does to your deliverer's motorcycle or car -- the wear and tear costs a lot of money to your food delivery person. Consider this: if you leave the hair salon with a chopped-up 'do or your order arrives with all the cheese stuck to the top of the pizza box, it isn’t far-fetched to suspect someone was dissatisfied with the last tip you left. Also know that a lot of food industry workers are students. They deserve our help...unless they give you crappy service. Grounds for a good tip is excellent service.

If you still refuse to tip, do watch this:

Cheap tippers should stick to fast food restaurants, such as KFC, Churches, Hartz chicken, Popeyes and McDonalds, to name a few..If you can't afford a few dollars to help someone keep their car in shape and filled with gas (especially at $3 per gallon) to deliver pizza to your fat gut, you don't deserve pizza. What you deserve is a swift kick in the a$s. If you want pizza, get on your car, pay your own gas and pick up your own food. We had blizzards and zero degree weather and these same cheap people are ordering delivery more than ever and STILL WONT TIP!!!!!!! Gee, I wonder why your food is late and cold? If the employer were to cover that tip you are NOT willing to provide, the cost of your order would double. A lot of servers work hard and actually prepare everything but the entree for you themselves. If you've any doubt over the concept of tipping you should'nt eat out. Just get them to go. If you are a good tipper and you are a regular customer of a restaurant odds are you haven't eaten any pubic hairs, spit, phlegm, genital sweat or pee yet. Hurray for you! You're a class act. There are good tippers around. I very rarely go out to eat, but on the occasions that I do I feel the need to tip very well - 30% or more if service is excellent - average. I tip that good because I can only imagine the bull crap that waiters and waitresses put up with. Know this: servers remember faces/tips. If you're leaving bad tips or no tips at all, next time you go to the same restaurant you'll have something extra with your steak or soup du jour.

TMZ reported that President Obama "dropped over $200" on a burger lunch for him and a large group of campaign volunteers at Ted's Bulletin Restaurant in Washington, D.C. -- and that he "tipped more than 35%":

The Commander-In-Chief slapped down some plastic to cover the bill. Good for you, Mr. POTUS!

Tiger Woods Regains No. 1 Ranking ... For Tightwad Tippers
From: http://www.thepostgame.com/blog/dish/201108/tiger-woods-regains-no-1-ranking-tightwad-tippers

Tiger Woods might never return to the top of the World Golf Rankings, but at least the disgraced former star has earned a No. 1 ranking in something.

Woods, despite a net worth of $500 million, is the worst celebrity tipper in America. Eldrick's excuse: He never carries cash. Woods is said to have made a woman in Las Vegas tip for him when they went out. While playing $10,000-a-hand blackjack, Tiger re-pocketed a $5 tip after realizing he tipped her early in the night.

The golfer isn't the only sports star making the Miami New Times Short Order blog list of "Top Ten Cheapest Celebrity Tippers":
http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/shortorder/2011/08/lebron_to_usher_to_sean_penn_t.php

The story was put together by Lee Klein of the New Times, who says he compiled information from more than a half-dozen sites devoted to tipping.

"The same names kept coming up again and again," Klein says.

LeBron James was one of them. The King was given a gift from the gods in the form of basketball talent, but leaving a gratuity is a different story. James, with a net worth of $120 million, turns into a cheapskate when the bill arrives. The Miami Heat star is ranked fourth on the New Times list, thanks in part to a generous $10 tip on a $800 bill from a Cleveland steak house he made stay open until 4 a.m.

1. Tiger Woods - Claims he never carries cash. (Not even credit cards?)

2. Madonna - Once left an $18 tip on a $400 bill.

3. Barbra Streisand - Famous for leaving $10 tip for $457 tab.

4. LeBron James - Didn't ever get tipping talents, left $10 on an $800 bill.

5. Jeremy Piven - Left signed Entourage DVD as tip. (You make us, Chicagoans shrink in shame! I would also like to add the name of John Cusack. I delivered a big box of hot steamy Chinese food at his penthouse. It was raining hard and I was drenched. He gave me ZILCH for tips. Not even some words of wisdom. His sister is also well known for being cheap.)

6. Usher - Once left his autograph as a tip.

7. Mariah Carey - Famous for diva demands and no tips!

8. Sean Penn - Left $0 on a $450 tab in New Orleans.

9. Bill Cosby - Once left a $3 tip on a $350 bill.

10. Racheal Ray - Promotes less than 20 percent tip on her show.

There you go....The Hall of Shame of Chintzy Tippers. I wish they have a televised event for this too.

Do you know how much food servers make daily in RP? I've been tipping since I was a teenager. I wish more Filipinos learn to be more generous. Filipinos are some of the cheapest people I have ever served or delivered food to in the US. Same with the Chinese. They are even worse. Yeah it is not part of their culture but if they are living in the US they need to learn coz if I were still a delivery person, I would refuse to deliver to them. Hispanics and African-Americans are the next cheapest people I've had the displeasure to serve.

One time, a friend of mine (she's white) served a group of Americans and Filipinos in a very prestigious and fairly expensive Japanese restaurant in Chicago. She really served them well. When it was time to pay the bill, the Filipino dude who I guess was treating the big group paid the bill and left a 25 cent change. The waitress felt insulted and sobbed and told the story to the Filipino manager of the restaurant. What the Filipino restaurant manager did was run after the group and in Tagalog said this to the Filipino dude who paid the bill and left a quarter for a tip: (Translated in English) Bro, you left this (as the manager handed him the quarter). Needless to say, everyone was embarassed including the cheap tipper. The manager said they were all looking like lobsters (red in embarassment) so each of the people in the group pulled out their wallets and gave the manager several more dollars to tip the waitress.

In the Land of the Rising Sun (Japan) tipping is not at all practiced. In fact, service personnel might even feel insulted when tipped. I think same is true in China. I've often heard from some friends in the U.S. who are in the service industry that Asians, Filipinos included, Hispanics and Blacks are bad tippers or NON-TIPPERS. I've heard some embarrassing stories about Filipinos not tipping after having a very big or expensive meals in nice restaurants. Filipinos need to learn to tip. Bus boys and waiters really do not make a lot. They do rely on tips. I think in the U.S. waiters make only $2.50 to $3 an hour. I'd like to say this to people who eat out, get their hair styled or get massaged:
There are three things in life one cannot avoid. And that would be death, taxes and tipping.

If people gave you a good service show them your appreciation by tipping them. Don't be cheap.
For a HAPPY LIFE, keep your MIND FULL and your BOWELS EMPTY. ;-)
