How much hope do you have indeed for the Philippines to change for the better? We just had an election and we voted for a new president and voted out most of the old politicians. There is now a new majority in Congress. What else do we need for change to happen so we can see improvements in our economy, how the government conducts business, in improving the plight of the poor, in increasing employment and foreign investments, in beautifying and greening our environment, etc? Post your thoughts and suggestions? Read what a foreigner posted about what he thinks of our country:
I read this too....really embarrasing:

Most Filipinos will agree that many things need to be done to better the country but I think the main problem is the "bahala-na" mentality most have. This is how it has been for them and they accept it. Maybe it is fear of being too outspoken as one has a tendency disappear in such cases. If greed and corruption are not at least reduced or addressed, I don't expect much change ever happening. Very unfortunate as so many deserve much better. We also need to change our Constitution as that 60-40% restriction against foreign investors is not seen as an incentive by investors. The president needs to also have sound and creative economic policies to get the economy going and at the same time help the most destitute of the poor. Our government agencies need to have more computerized systems so people wanting to get involved in business do not have to physically go to the government offices to apply for applications to start a business, apply for clearances, etc....online applications should be an option to business people. |

With Duterte heading our government I now have better hope that things will change or move in the right direction. I'm so glad N0Y & his gang are gone. But there are still LP politicians in our midst (in the Senate, the House of Reps, in our courts and media). VP Leni could be a president-in-waiting. Let's pray for our president. In a few weeks of his presidency there are so many things he has done already. Compare that to the last pwesident. No comparison at all. |

I have renewed hope now for things to improve overall in our country now that Duterte is at the helm. Never again will I vote for any yellows, with the exception of Lacson. |
