![]() This is GNS. Real. Current. News. Coming up: Photographs of senior Delta officials accepting envelopes from alliance lobbyists, including for an otherwise respected alliance with peculiar friends, have surfaced recently. We explore a possible scandal as we investigate the contents. An Earth Congressional subcommittee has passed twenty billion credits of discretionary spending on shorefront property development in Mongolia. Investors are now rallying in the Mongolian land market for a share. Our financial AI will be here to answer your questions on emotrâ„¢ and dispense advice to investors. Alarming numbers of journalists from major agencies have been diagnosed with greater than normal levels of Fraunhofer's syndrome. GNS senior officials are considering instituting stricter intrasense protocol for safety reasons. We will listen to your suggestions on emotrâ„¢ and discuss what sort of changes we may see. A disturbed man brought accelerants onto a maglev passenger tram, poured them onto seats, and lit them on fire. Check with us and our correspondents to find out why. After the news at :11: Our first story is a piece on the Snow Ravens by one of our correspondents: *CAW!* The Snow Ravens. Former members of the Mushroom Kingdom and formerly the Neutral League, these recently turned Kantus worlds are creating quite a ruckus. Accusations fly over the extranet regarding actions they had every right to take. Recent actions by the Chancellor, unopposed by the Arthran, are generally believed to be the reason the Snow Ravens left the Edictus and gave up on neutrality. One of the Snow Ravens' Khans agreed to an interview. So, would you like to remind our viewers why you left the Mushroom Kingdom? The original members of the Neutral League left the Mushroom Kingdom because we were displeased with the government's lackluster approach to strategy and complete ignorance of some of the wiser members, including ourselves. How was your time as NL? As the Neutral League, we attempted to avoid the influence of other planets and alliances. We fared decently, but were repeatedly approached by the Mushroom Kingdom regarding various agreements that would have breached our neutrality. We were forced to keep our space nominally Edictus during this period, to avoid attacks, but the actions of the Edictus alliances and finally the President of Earth made this impossible. Which of the Chancellor's actions convinced you to join the Kantus? President Nethun declared that Earth would be launching attacks on anyone Earth's government decided was a threat to Edictus. This can be variously described as witch-hunting, a tactically foolish show of force, or a concerted effort to eradicate planets who are not blindly loyal to Edictus. I believe that President Nethun's declaration has set Edictus back years in credibility. Have the Kantus accepted you? Yes, they have accepted us fairly rapidly. Kantus respected our neutrality substantially more than Edictus did, and that respect continued when we moved and became the Snow Ravens. The Kantus League of Irrational Terror accepted us as a member fairly rapidly. How soon did you become the Snow Ravens? We became the Snow Ravens when we switched factions. We moved and dropped our neutrality simultaneously. How long did it take for KLIT to approve the admission of the Snow Ravens? Less than a day. Do you believe it would have been unanimous had they taken longer? Yes. Does anyone harbour ill will because KLIT didn't wait for them? KLIT is a very unified bloc. This issue has not damaged our unity one iota. What inspired the name? The Snow Raven is a bird, probably of Terran origin, (but even I do not know that for certain) found recently on a certain frozen, inhospitable planet that was settled and abandoned some millennia ago. It is a remarkable animal. It is a true survivor. It wastes nothing; it picks the bones of a carcass clean, then eats the bones. Like our namesake, we pride ourselves on being ruthlessly efficient. We have built ourselves up from nothing. Are any of these birds kept as mascots? No. We no more cage them than we cage ourselves. I understand that you like to imitate the snow raven's call. Would you care to demonstrate? Certainly. The Khan presses a button on a hidden tape recorder. *CAW!* Excellent. Do you render it purely out of respect for the bird or is there a deeper meaning? It is our war-cry, a signal to each other, and a symbol of our unity, among other things. How do you feel about the use of human skin in fashion design? We do not use human skin in fashion design. The Reavers have that field covered. Have the Snow Ravens attended any Reaver festivities? Not to date. We may in the future, though. Have the Snow Ravens made any conquests yet? Not yet. We have attracted quite a few planets to our cause recently, though. There were seven worlds in the Neutral League. There are currently twenty-nine under the Snow Raven banner. How did you recruit so quickly? If anything, Earth recruited these planets to our cause. I doubt we would have found so many willing to join with us under a new flag if Earth had not blustered about its plans for purges and retribution. Why do you believe the Chancellor has taken this course of action? Earth is clearly lead by the insecure and poorly run overall. The state of its clients in some regions is evidence of that. This is just yet another rash decision by Edictus in order to justify recent losses. I believe the King of Man summed it up nicely. Are the Kantus better? Kantus is run remarkably well as compared to Edictus. I respect the Arthran, but they are being relegated to a third place. Nathanial Demeter is clearly not in control of his clients if they are becoming protectorates of Edictus worlds. Several major Arthran alliances are little more than Edictus puppets. Protecting the Edictus was a secondary priority for the Arthran, was it not? The Edictus are weakening their mission by drawing off Arthran worlds into pacts with Edictus alliances which will, ultimately, result in them being led to their death by President Nethun. I honestly do not see why the Arthran do not move to secure their borders. Devoting yourself to advancing with an enemy at your rear leaves you vulnerable, and I would expect the Arthran high command to know this. What do the Snow Ravens think of the Jedi Knights? They are little more than an extension of the Galactic Republic, and a prime example of how Edictus alliances are weakening Arthran. If their first loyalty is to their sovereign, who is primarily aligned with Edictus and the Galactic Republic, they are already at least, useless, and at most, a serious threat, to Nathanial Demeter. Thank you for your time. Not a problem. That was an interview with one of the Snow Ravens leaders. GNS will return shortly after this commercial break. *CAW!* Here's to a bright future to our friends whether they be furry, feathery, or canaballistic! We can always use a little "ruthless efficiency." |

We would like to make it known that only the founding members of the Neutral League were members of the Mushroom Kingdom. The majority of the planets in our alliance have not known their yoke, and have joined us recently, in response to Earth's actions. We are by no means limited to former Mushroom Kingdom worlds. |
