Intrasense still on...

It's 11:11, so you get twice the story. This is GNS. Real. Current. News.

In the aftermath of the widely-covered Domain Incident, Earth and Secunda issued conflicting claims about the vessel in question. But now, we bring you the latest chapter in this story- another GNS exclusive.

President Miranda Nethun, leader of Edictus, today gave a speech before the government of Earth regarding the Domain incident. Earth will no longer, she claims, sit passive while threats to Edictus exist. In short, unfriendly planets who have long sat in the shadow of their homeworlds and exclusively fought Earth's client planets may now have to deal with Earth itself.

Naturally, Kantus had a response, and that response is now being delivered to the galaxy exclusively through GNS. The King of Man himself gave us the following interview:

Half of the field of view fades into an image of the King of Man, who sits up straight in his chair, though it appears only as a slight waver through the extranet connection. Our anchor Alphonse Baruch and the King of Man are several light-years apart. Security is tight on Secunda and they wouldn't let Baruch in for a face-to-face interview, which is different from recent days.

So, Mr. King of Man?

Titles are rather unnecessary. I'd prefer it if you didn't call me anything at all.

Understood. Let's get this underway, then.

You may begin your questions.

Surely you've heard President Nethun of Earth claiming there will be retribution against those impinging on Edictus sovereignty. Will Secunda tolerate Earth acting against Kantus worlds based on the Domain incident?

Certainly not. I should first assuage all Kantus that this little tirade the President is performing is akin to a dog on a very short leash barking as loud as he can.

So you don't see a threat to Kantus worlds, or you think the threat is not large enough to worry Kantus?

The threat is certainly real - even though the Edictus lacked the will to create their own versions of our cleansing weaponry, the obediently conditioned Arthran did a fine job of stealing it for them. What I will say is that any assault on our client worlds by Earth will be met with an appropriate response. We value our Kantus alliances who are doing the right thing in cleansing the rotten core of the Edictus from this galaxy.

So do you then consider the Arthran more dangerous than Edictus? They've been rather quiet, as opposed to the Edictus leader and some of your client planets.

In all honesty, the Arthran are pursuing the most strategically viable option available to them - hope that conflict between my kingdom and the Edictus comes to a head and we wear each other down. Rest assured that any efforts of the Arthran are being defeated preemptively by our excellent Throne World Intelligence. Our great rivals of Aura, unfortunately, will meet the bitter end that is befalling the Edictus. A slow, steady decline into oblivion.

One of your faction's alliance leaders, Prefontaine, has been promoting an agreement to not destroy planets outright. Are you familiar with this document?

I do familiarize myself with concepts being engineered in my domain, and I have read this document. I must say that of the many good things that man is, he is not familiar with what it means to be Kantus. To be Kantus is to sweep away the chaff of injustice, of oppression, of indignity. Not those who oppose us, but merely those who oppose humanity and the right of man to live without imperial dominance. All well-meaning Kantus strive for this goal by any means necessary. That is, indeed, one of the reasons why I have slowed our rebellion just in the slightest - to see what the common Kantus man can do, to see whether or not they can be the catalyst of the crumbling of the Edictus and Arthran that I had predicted for so long. I was in the right; their brave actions are doing it as we speak.

I see. So you do not perceive Kantus to be as bluntly aggressive against all who are not within your territory as the Edictus forces have shown themselves to be?

We certainly are. To be Kantus is to embody aggression. If not physical, then emotional or logical. The struggle against imperial injustice is what the Kantus Rebellion was built on. We choose, for periods of time, to bring physical aggression to the proverbial table. The Edictus, as I have told you before, is akin to a dog on a short leash. He attempts to show his anger for those he cannot attack. I expect these incidents to become more frequent as the Edictus nears destruction.

I fear I worded that improperly. But your reply has answered my question anyway. Well, many thanks for your time. GNS certainly appreciates it.

And I thank you in return, for the opportunity to give my thoughts to the Kantus who need it the most. My final words are to stay strong, my people. Our victory is assured. It is a shame your cohorts in the Delta Network could not attend this session as well.

The picture of the King fades away as the GNS studio fills the screen once more.

Well, there are things you just can't get anywhere other than GNS, and this is one of them. We'll be back after a brief break.

CRUSHER 52! We've gone all the way to the edge of Aura itself for this epic mixed martial arts smackdown! It's a super-high-gravity challenge! If their opponents don't take them down, the gravity will. Live on the 19th at 8 PM Galactic Standard time and available on memory archive for a low fee.

Despite the fact that the historians agree that all but two of the major empires of Ancient Earth were ruled Kings, and not Emperors. (See: Japan, Napoleonic France) I would point you to the directions of Great Britain, Prussia, the United States, Spain, Russia, Pre-Republic Rome... Do I need to go on?

I'm surprised the King of Man gave an interview. That's the first one since the beginning of the Kantus rebellion.
