(The reasons for this are purely out of character, so I cannot make an in-character response to this question. Simply put, we're stuck on Edictus because A: the game does not allow for unaligned planets or alliances, and B: in-game limitations prevent us from shifting to a faction more to our liking for quite some time. Needless to say, neither we nor our characters have any degree of loyalty to Earth or to Edictus.) |

OOC: Because we started on Edictus, and there's no neutral faction. Though we've supported the establishment of one. |

Despite our official affiliation we hold no love or hate for our brethren on the Edictus faction. We're indifferent to their affairs with other factions. If possible we would choose no faction to be affliated among ourselves, but alas we cannot. |

I wouldn't worry about this, my experience over 3-4 years is that war is inevitable because boredom is the alternative and boredom will kill the game for the vast majority of the players out there. Right now we are still recovering and rethinking what happened in the last fight. After a time the people interested in actually competing in this game will push for war and greater activity. This last war guarantees that the when that happens, there wont be anything in AGE for the larger KLIT planets to eat, so whatever is up there will have to be sized up and attacked. Any other course of action turns this into a waiting game where KLIT hopes that AGE recovers from the first war and eventually manages to grow into range and again become viable competition. But to be honest, that course of action really doesn't favor AGE. It is far better to concede the upper range for now and wait until the economic bonus is actually worth a damn. I am not saying this to disparage KLIT (who I think are for the most part honorable and decent people), AGE would be pressed to do the same thing to prevent membership loss and the death of the game. Fighting is natural and necessary, without it, we will all eventually get bored of simcolony or whatever it is that certain people always seem to want to play. So to put this in a tl;dr for you all: You need war to stave off boredom or boredom will kill the game There is very little overlap between the drivers in AGE and KLIT at the moment So any war in the near future has to come at the expense of neutrals in the last conflict |

We're neutral, not passive. |
