GNS. Real. Current. News. Tonight we'll be looking at the morale of various forces involved in the ongoing conflict between the Reavers of Kantus and allies, and several large Edictus alliances. We have managed to get four reporters out to the front lines, where they will be bringing us news on the war from several perspectives. First we go to Hal Stromm, live from the planet of Little Boots. Little Boots is an Edictus world in the Mushroom Kingdom alliance. You're on, Hal. Thank you. I'm here on <static> the outskirts of a city that was recently bombarded from orbit by Reaver fleets. The bombing seems to have stopped, and no Reaver fleets have been spotted over Little Boots for a while. How bad is it there, Hal? It could be worse. A few large cities were bombed, but King Puffington, the ruler of this planet, thinks the planet will recover and the Mushroom Kingdom will prevail over the Reavers. Interesting. Have you heard any more statements from him? Well, he claims that the bombing has stopped because he fought off the Reavers with some assistance from other Mushroom Kingdom fleets. He also has stated that Little Boots is suffering for its devotion to free speech. He claims that had he been less vocal with his stances in interplanetary communications, Little Boots might have been ignored altogether, but he values free <static> speech more than his planet's infrastructure. I'm out. Thank you Hal. Morale seems to be about neutral on Little Boots. It's obviously been lowered by the bombings, but the leader is clearly charismatic. He's being bombed for it. Next, we will take a look at the planet Domain. Domain has recently appeared on GNS as the target of a failed Kantus raid. When reporter Bay Ishingsen last contacted us, Domain was the galaxy's strongest non-Homeworld planet. In less than a day, however, Terminus Est has crushed Domain's massive military, underscoring the power of Kantus fighters. Mr. Ishingsen had recorded an interview with Aurum, ruler of Domain, but much of it is no longer relevant. At this point, we cannot know what is happening on Domain, save that it is being bombed heavily, which is interfering with communications. The interview will be made available on emotrâ„¢ for historical purposes. Morale is almost certainly low on Domain. On the Galactic Republic's front, Shanoa is holding out against Reaver bombing raids. The planet's fleets were decimated by Reaver attacks personally spearheaded by the Reaver Emperor, Brehon. The raids abruptly ended without much damage being done, and reporter Isaac Woods survived unscathed in one of the smaller cities. Isaac? This planet is doing fine. It's had some damage to its infrastructure, but should be able to rebuild quickly. It doesn't have much left in the way of fighters, though. So do you think it might be in trouble if the Reavers come back? I do, but the people here don't. They expect to win without much difficulty. I'm getting out of here. Thank you Isaac. It's a few minutes to the :11, so we'll be back then with our interview with Brehon, Emperor of the Reavers. Intrasense Initiating... Cheated by get-rich-quick schemes? Had your money snatched by that Edictus prince who wants you to hold his credits in your account? Call the law offices of Bernard Masloff, open on Earth, 21 Delsanjo, and several major Edictus and Arthran core worlds. Hi, Will May here for the Pocket Electrician. With this one simple tool, you can fix broken circuits, reconnect wires, and even restart a shorted-out system. The secret is tiny electrical welders inside the tube. First, the welders connect the two ends of the circuit. Then, a durapolyethylene seal is applied. making the circuit safe. Watch as it restores power to this office building! But wait! Order now and we'll double your order! That's right, two Pocket Electricians for the low price of 19 credits. We'll also throw in a free Durasealer! The Durasealer can apply that same seal to ANYTHING! Call now. We're back with your news at every :11. Today we have a live interview with Brehon, Emperor of the Reavers. We go to Jon Hesenmayer on Brehon's flagship. The GNS logo fades in, filling the screen, then shrinks to an infinitesimally small point in the center. A room on the flagship of Bulaklak's fleet becomes visible. The walls are painted red as (perhaps with) blood, and several skulls have been placed around the room in an odd pattern. Directly ahead is the imposing Brehon himself. Hesenmayer, barely visible but clearly audible, speaks first. First question. What would you say morale is like among the Reavers? Extremely high and proud. Each Reaver has done their part and they get to see the fruits of their training. Yes morale is VERY high. We have shrugged off so many taunts and belittling. I know they are pleased and justified in showing their responses in battle. I see. So you expect a clear victory? I expect nothing. I can only go off what currently is. Even if something were to happen to create massive casualties for Reavers, the pride is not where we are, but rather seeing the fruit of hard prepatory work. To assume victory at any time is an act of foolishness or bravado. I tend to not subscribe to either. I see your point. Do you see the Reavers being able to deal with powerful Edictus worlds like Domain? While our plans for Domain were rendered void by the powerful actions of our allies, we were prepared for a long fight. But seeing as Domain has lost 350 points of strength and is now in range of (and being hit by) Reavers in a joint effort even as we speak, it's no longer a concern. Reavers were but the first spearhead. Kantus united under KLIT are the actual players in this conflict. I am first in battle. I will not ask troops to do what I will not do. This is the same for my allies. To lead by example eliminates confusion and lack of understanding. All of Edictus has borne witness to this now, whether they choose to acknowledge it or not. So taking that same concept, Domain was simply a target that required intense planning and contingencies. While I would have liked to see that into fruition, it was better for our ally to handle it while we shouldered MK, SoL, TGR and TA. So do you have plans for the Mushroom Kingdom and its allies in the event of a Reaver victory? As it stands, my plan for Mushroom Kingdom is to continue to beat on their planets until they make the move to recant their aggressive actions. Everyone is accountable for their actions, I will hold them to that truth. Let me clarify on my comment and add in Terran Alliance (TA). While they have not declared or stated intentions, their members have attacked Reavers. Attempts at communication with their Leader has been met with nothing at all, no response, no anything. As such they were added to our target list to protect Kantus planets. I see. While I know there are those that paint us as the aggressors, Vilien declared and was attacked. MK didn't declare but attacked a member of our block. TGR attacked our members and when questioned stated: "We support the treaty with MK". SoL declared on Reavers. TA has not declared, but certainly attacked Reavers. They are ALL accountable. Thank you for your time. One last question: If Kantus unites the galaxy, what will come of the Reavers' custom of consumption of human flesh? I am not sure such a thing is possible (the uniting of the galaxy). It is in our (all humans, regardless of faction) nature to find fault or reason to promote personal agenda's. Until that stops, unity is impossible. So really our feeding habits can't be extended past how the world is now. Additionally, as Kantus, we will never allow someone or something to use us as slaves or workers or their means of labor and entertainment. With that being known, I don't expect to see Kantus, let alone Reavers, allow another faction to have rule or say over us. Thank you, I'd say that concludes our interview. Intrasense Terminating... This interview will also be made available on emotrâ„¢. That's all for this update. Tune in next update for more war news. |

The Reaver reign of terror will be brutal, merciless, and will involve lots of hard labor for non-Kantus alliances. Cheers! Also, great job here, very entertaining. These reports will be sanctioned to run on Salusa Secundus primetime, right before "Funniest home invasions". |
