Larki's current form Larki was smiling while he walked playing his Biwa. An assassination where he could put the body on display? Well now then that was going to make Pride happy. A bloody piece of art. The shadow was practically twitching with anticipation. Larki had accepted a mission from a woman named Vera. Good or bad it didn't matter to him all he wanted was the ability to make a few extra credit and get on with his life. Be it for good or evil really didn't matter for him either. Though he suspected that more killing would be done when there was someone dead someone that may or may not have needed to die. Money was money and since it was dark out then Pride could keep himself mostly hidden. Larki was glad his Kitsune hanyou form was in effect for tonight also the increased intelligence and reasoning skills would be crucial to this mission. His black tattered cloak was hiding him as he walked across the district to the house he was going to visit and kill. Reaching up as he knocked on the door soundly but not loudly to make people come out and check what was the racket. Edited by Youko, Jul 28 2010, 09:31 PM.

Michael Burne was sitting nervously in his armchair in the living room. On his left was a short, stout man, seated in a collapsible chair. The short man was quietly inspecting a dagger in his hands. On the other side of the room, back against the wall, stood a tall but lanky fellow with scruffy hair and a baton holstered at his side. In fact, these two men that accompanied Burne were temporary body guards, hired to protect the vulnerable Mr. Burne after the deadly attack on his home the night before. Burne's bedroom wall had been destroyed during a scuffle between his old body guard and the assailant. Now, his room was cordoned off by plastic curtains. Hopefully we'll get that wall all fixed up soon. That should get my mind off the attack. At least they won't be coming after me again. Burne rocked slowly back and forth in his chair, watching the television quietly, with several lights on in the house. Suddenly, there was a knocking at the door, which caused Burne to jolt up in his chair. "Who's that?" he exclaimed. "Easy, sir," said the tall body guard. "I'll get it." |

Larki smiled as His hearing heard scuffling behind the door. Putting his Biwa on his back He smiled and waited an Eye appeared on the Shadowed wall by him. "Pride check and see if the Man is in his room asleep or if it is abandoned and be descreet about it." Larki's voice was but a whisper to the shadow as it took off and He took off his hood to show his Childish face His fox ears twitching on either side of his ead as He walited for the Man walkign to the door. He smiled softly as the man opened the door glad for his Still very Much Preasent Urchin appearance. "I am sorry to bother you tonight I was just a bit Hungry and was hoping I could pay for a Meal by playing my Biwa to the Owner of this house. If you want to search me I am more than willing to let you all I have is this on me." He reached into his pocket and pulled out the Metal he had grabbed that he used for the Sparking rock that came out with it to start a fire. "Other than my Flint and Steel for my Fires to warm myself at night, my Biwa and these clothes on my back I have nothing." |

The guard stared straight-faced at the lowly-looking urchin. In truth, this particular guard was a member of the Haven Police Force, and his work had made him very experienced and perceptive - though he was otherwise something of an average man. He looked outside and noticed that no one was around on the streets tonight. "You want food, do you? Well, answer me this: what's a street pleb like you doing up in Sector 9?" The tall guard raised an eyebrow at Larki. He didn't really have anything against the poor, he was just suspicious that someone unable to afford a meal was wandering around in Sector 9 in search of food. Usually, the security patrolling the Sector wouldn't allow the homeless to roam the streets. |

Larki smiled and thought about it a bit. "Well to tell you the truth the people I did pass just thought of me as a minstral walking through heading to home. None of the Guards paid me any attention. That is what you are talking about right? Me being a street pleb means you expect the Guards to be all that observant about a boy wearing a cloak?" Kouri smiled and looked at the man. He had passed a few Guards on the way here and none of them really paid him much attention rather than asking him what his business was. "Sorry to make it seem a bit unrealistic but the Guards around here accept me saying I am just traveling through as sad as it is." Kouri smiled as he jumped in surprise as a loud crash came from the Room that Pride had gone into. "Oh no did someone fall? that sounded painful if they did I hope noone got hurt." He was truely not expecting Pride to do something like that so his surprise was sincere and he could use it to make the man that was suspicious play off it. Pride on the other hand swore a bit out loud before darting under the bed to hide there just in case someone came up to investigate the Vase he had knocked over in his entrance and carelessness in pieces on the floor in front of the dresser. |

The tall guard nodded slowly as Larki explained himself. It was possible that he was telling the truth, as Sector 9 wasn't inaccessible by any means. After all, someone had managed to destroy part of the house the night before without being detected. Burne was sitting on the edge of his seat, hearing some words being exchanged at he front door. He hoped that the guard would return soon, as he didn't like the idea of his protector being distracted. The short guard that sat next to him was still fiddling with his dagger. Suddenly, there was the sound of shattering glass. Burne collapsed off of his chair and into a ball, gasping in fear. The short guard shot up and gripped his dagger, beginning to glance around for the source of the sound. "It came from the bedroom," Burne whispered. The short guard looked over at the plastic curtain that covered the whole in the wall of the bedroom. He cautiously began walking over to the curtain, pulling it open and stepping into the room. "What was that?" said the tall guard at the door. He turned his head and shouted into the house: "Have you got it covered, Maurice?" He looked back at Larki. "I'm sorry, sir, but we really don't have time for this. Take some coin and be on your way." He tossed a few coins onto the porch floor. |

Pride smiled as He saw the man walk into the darkened room not even turning on the light as it used a tendril of shadow to knock into a stand just out of his view as if someone were hiding behind the bed.. If the man was stupid enough he might just be able to lure the other one into the house allowing Larki to complete the mission. Larki smiled and bowed to the man. "Thank you for your kindness Sir I don't think I have net someone so dedicated to their job in a good while. If I may ask what is happening? I don't need to fear for my life from something here do I?" Larki let a bit of Fear sep into his Voice to add truth to his claims. He was scared a bit. Scared that this man was going to watch him like a hawk. He needed to get his Two Khukri he had hid in some shadows. not that they would be noticeable but he couldn't make a clean kill unless either this man left or stoped paying attention long enough for Larki to end his life. The short guard, Maurice, dashed around to the side of the bed where the noise had been made, brandishing his dagger. However, he found nothing there, and he was struggling to peer through the darkness. Meanwhile, Burne was curled up uncomfortably on the floor in the living room. The noise in the bedroom and the man at the door made him nervous. "Damn it!" he called to the guard at the front door. "Jon, just sound the alarm!" John shrugged at Larki. "Look, just keep moving and you'll be fine. I need to go take care of a few things inside." He closed the front door on Lark, but neglected to lock it. He drew his baton out of the holster, and made his way towards the kitchen. In the back yard, just outside the kitchen door, there was a clockwork alarm that could set off a very loud ringing sound to attract attention to the house if anything was awry. |

Pride smiled as one of his tendrils grew teeth and shot out from the bed gnashing it's way through the mans throat and crushing his voice box. Pride smiled as he didn't want the man to alert someone with his voice but grinned as a tendral Sliced through his Short Stubby little legs as Pride let him fall to the floor with a loud Thump svering his wrist off as he dragged the dagger under the bed blood now pooling from the mans three sumps that were once his hand and shins and from his throat filling his lungs with blood with each breath. Larki smiled and sent a shadow around to the Alarm system. Having found it while walking around and scouting the place out. He couldn't have something messing with that now could he. The shadows around it finding a few rocks that were big enough to have to force into places in the gears making them not turn and thus not activate the alarm. Larki took the time to grab his twi Khukri out of the shadowed step by the house before opening the door silently and slipping in making his way to the closet making sure that he gets in before the coward of a man on the floor curled up could uncurl to notice him as he heard the thump of the man in the room. Pride was doing his job of distracting now all Larki had to do was make it so he could assassinate the Man. as he slipped into the closet he enshrouded himslef with shadows making it so if the man opened the door for something he could not see Larki till it was too late. |

Jon made his way out the kitchen door and to the left. There was the alarm, ready to be rung. He wound up the handle manually and released it. However, the rocks that had been placed between the gears held all of the clockwork still. "Oh, what is it now?" Jon asked rhetorically, pulling a lighter out of his pocket to illuminate the alarm construct. He examined it closely, noticing the rocks in the clockwork. He reached in and pried them out with his fingers, but one was stuck and wouldn't budge. Jon sighed and held up his baton, hitting the rock a few times in an attempt to get it out. Inside, Burne slowly uncurled himself when he heard a light thump through the floor. "Hello? Maurice, what's going on over there?" He stood up and felt fear rush through him. "Jon?" Still no answer. "Look, who ever is there, just leave me alone! You promised I wouldn't be bothered any more! I gave you all the information I know!" |
