You've just now seen that? Besides the fact that it's absolutely innaccurate. It was an interesting read a few years ago.

The 18,000 "heavy guns" figure is closer too 12,000 from all the other sources I've seen for example. But yes, the artillery force of NK is impressive. It's about all they have however.

They say the T-62 uses a 155mm gun.. yeah it's a 115mm.

It says the only anti-tank missile the USA has that can penetrate NK tank armor is the TOW-II. First they exaggerate NKs tank armor. Secondly, hello, FGM-148 Javelin anyone?

They say "A-10's will be inneffective due to all the air combat going on." Then say "North Korean Su-25s will aid the advance". Yeah... conflicting logic.

How good are North Korea's special forces? In September 1996, a North Korean submarine was stranded near Kang-nung and the crew were forced to abandon the ship and land on South Korea. The sub had two special forces agents who had finished a mission in South Korea and were picked up by the sub before the sub ran into a rock. The two men fought off an army of South Korean troops and remained at large for 50 days, during which they killed 11 of the pursuers.

Also false. The true version is here
Quote:

In September 1996, North Korean Special Operations Forces (SOF) infiltrated the South Korean eastern coast near the town of Kangnung. The North Koreans, numbering 26, abandoned their stranded submarine and rushed from the beach into the surrounding hills. What followed was a two-month bloody manhunt for the infiltrators that left all but two of the North Koreans dead. During the manhunt, 16 South Korean soldiers and civilians died and 27 were wounded.

26 North Koreans. Not two special forces.

Not to mention what it states about NKs nuclear and long range missile forces is complete guessing an conjecture that reads almost like North Korean propaganda.

As far as the air-defense portion goes. It lists the massive numbers NK has, woohoo, it also conveniently ignores the age of so many of those systems and their incompetence against modern RCIS and stealth aircraft.

All in all the entire article falsifies or guesses (with extreme bias) as to the effectiveness of NK's equipment, and also ignores the fact that most equipment is decades old, and treats it as if it is first-rate equipment that will be fully effective. As well as treating US forces as idiots (dogfighting with 2.5k lb bunker busters loaded...), and NK forces in the luckiest positons possible.

But what was definitely true is the intelligence about North Korea. The biggest problem is that we don't know how much of what they have or in what condition or quality. Our knowledge on North Korea is severely limited. It is in everyone's best interest to avoid war and this is one of the reasons for it.

Okay, back in WW2 The brits had a computer that could decipher German Enigma encryptions but they didn't use the intel in fear of the German's changing their codes. That is the same situation the US finds its self in, we probably know what they have and probably know the capabilities we just probably don't publish those things because it would cause a literal witch hunt in North Korea for Operatives.
