Cuban forces have begun detaining soldiers that wished to continue orders issued before the death of Raul. The amred forces have mostly turned around from Guantanamo Bay and begun rounding up the current legislative members, high ranking army officials trying to combat this new resistence, and those still moving to attack the United States has orginally planned. While the civilian populace has remained rather quiet, the military is quickly cleaning its own ranks of those still loyal to the communist party and its agenda. A brief firefight near Guantanamo occured but the rogue unit surrendered when the other remaining forces there fired back upon them to keep them from moving towards US positions. Reports of lieutenants and sergeants shooting their captains, colonols, and generals become commonplace as it seems lower officers and privates have begun decapitating the communist heads of the Cuban military. Lieutenant Franco seems to be orchestrating alot of the military coup from Raul's former office with the help of his fellow officers and extensive netowork of friends in the military. His popularity amongst his fellow has proved a huge asset and the less indoctrinated privates are quicker to release communism's grip over them then the senior officers. |

The Cuban military begins to scramble however mechanics have sabotaged the starters to tanks and aircraft were drained of fuel. Soldiers attempting to get vehicles operational are quickly shot or overpowered by other troops at the bases loyal to the military coup. With the difficulty at determining loyalties, soldiers begin growing paranoid of their comerades. Death tolls number near 1,000 however civilian casulties and damage to the country remain almost non-existant to this point. |

Fighting has broken out in the Escambray Mountains as soldiers loyal to the old government who escaped capture by their squadmmates, have begun retaliatory attacks. With tanks being either sabotaged or out of service due to poor maintenance and lack of funds over the decades, the war is almost entirely based on infantry alone. Revolutionary forces ensure missile forces were taken care of and secured where they will not be used. Aircraft are also being protected on the ground and not used. Tanks will not be repaired until after the conflict to ensure they do not get captured and used to resist the revolution. Seeing the violence from military forces fighting one another, civilians have mostly remained quiet, most likely because they do not know who will win and will thus not support either side until it is more clear. Revolutionaries have dispatched a company of men to engage the loyalists in the mountains however terrain will make combat tough. |

Fighting in the central mountains has left nearly 500 dead on both sides of the conflict. The resistence pocket was wiped out by the revolutionaries and the military has seemingly been purged of most opposition. The military has effectively created a panel of high ranking officers and a group of lower officers whom helped get the revolution planned and set into motion. These men have begun taking charge of national affairs. It is uncertain what entity exactly will assume full control of the country as a power struggle for recognition still ensues. Salvador Mesa and scraps of the former government have begun bidding for power as he is the highest in the order of succession left in the party either alive or undetained. The military was not about to permit this threat to develop. Lieutenant Franco and his men quickly visited the hideout of Mesa and eliminated the competition.
