BOBBY XORDRA Kaliendar. JIM SWORDSMAN (Marvin Cuprous). TRUE RED FAS Gli and TOTHIN Kanos. Bar patrons. Barkeep. Xordra led the group to a bar closer to the outskirts of Babel than the Golden Raven. He knew that it would be a much less conspicuous place to convene the founding of the Brotherhood of Anti- He made sure to get seats in a dark back corner where they would be less likely to be overheard. After they had all been seated he said, "First order of business, are we all aware of the plan here? About officially founding the anti-corruption group known now only as the Brotherhood? Tothin I know you may not be aware of all of this since you weren't with us in the sky islands, but I insisted you came because I'd heard great things about you through my sources. Too bad, though, about the Jaidi."... ((I figure before the Negotiator shows up we should give the Brotherhood the official name Brotherhood of Anti-Tyranny or B.O.A.T. I'm sure someone will use the joke "I'm on a boat!" in relation to this. Then once we get the concession to join, the cause of the Brotherhood, and its name sorted out, then the negotiator can finally show up to supply the Orphan (the official mobile HQ of the Brotherhood))) Edited by Bobby, Sep 25 2013, 02:46.

On the way to the Golden Raven before Xordra explained his idea, Fas and Tothin were catching up on everything that was going on with each other. In the midst of this, Fas mentioned, "I'm going to help you, but I need to tell you one more thing. I learned about it when Kradenosama gave me a book to read about my tribe back in Otoya. There is this power that people in my tribe Epoirg had. The power was inherently within and very rare. It is released by the person after they put markings on their face. The color and design of the markings alters the effect of the power, and it doesn't matter what is used to make the markings, just so long as they are made." "Cool!" Tothin exclaimed, but then realized that he was drawing far too much attention to the group and lowered his volume. "Do you have this power?" "That's the thing," Fas sighed. Her brow wrinkled. "I don't know. It is said that only the ones fit for ruling had it. Only the chieftains lineage. The strange thing is when deciding who would be the next chieftain in our tribe, we would first rely on who the children of the previous chieftain were. Then from that, only one would be able to access this power. It did not matter if the child was the eldest, the youngest, or anything in between. Every child was tested if they had it when the youngest was at least 10, all at the same time. Legend had it that the one who had that power would be the best fit to rule. It was interesting because that solved any potential power struggle since only one person in a generation had it." "You're the only child of a chieftain, so you must have it then," Tothin responded. "Have you tried it?" "No, I'm not so sure I have it," Fas answered as she bit her lip. She adjusted her golden hair. "I am the only child, and I was far too young for my father to have told me when he was killed. I looked in the book for a case when a chieftain had an only child, but it never happened before. My father was killed before he could have any more kids, whereas the other chieftains lived much longer and were able to have several kids." "Well you should give it a shot," Tothin suggested happily. "I'm not sure what the power does, but what's the worst that could happen? Best case scenario, you have it, and you become even more awesome. Worst case, you don't have it, and you stay the same amount of awesome. Either way, you're awesome, and a great help in a fight." She smiled briefly at his flattery, but then turned serious. "But if I don't have it, then I was never really fit to rule my tribe, and therefore have no right to carry on their legacy. Carrying on the legacy of Epoirg is something that has driven me throughout my whole life," Fas finished. She quieted down after this, and Tothin realized that he hadn't thought about that. He felt that it was best for Fas to figure it out for herself, and so he did not speak to her for awhile lest he disturb her. After Xordra asked his question at the table, Tothin was surprised by Xordra's sources. He had never really tried to showcase his power, and certainly did not know that people were watching him. Who exactly was this Xordra guy and how did he have sources? Despite these thoughts, Tothin was the first to speak, "I'm in. After no longer being a part of the Jaidi, I need something like this to be able to help and protect those who need it. Having no clear direction of what to do next, this is just what the doctor ordered for me." Fas hesitated. Did she really have any right to carry on her tribe's legacy at all? "I'll do it too, but I think we need more answers before we start. Let's see if we can find those." ((I like the "boat" jokes that the name has the potential for, and I like the name "Brotherhood of Anti-Tyranny". The only things are that 1) the acronym would actually be B. O. A. because Anti-Tyranny is hyphenated, and 2) it makes it seem like that taking down tyrannical rulers or regimes is the only thing that they do which is not true. In fact, the thing in Sky Island is not tyranny. Like I said, I like the name, but I'm not sure it's the best option. If everybody else likes it, then I'll agree with it, but I'd like to hear more options, and I'll try to come up with a few myself.) Edited by True Red, Aug 4 2013, 20:45.

![]() "I'm in, I guess. Tyranny is tyranny. Maybe I am a little too close to this conflict...it might be time to cool my heels a bit." A chuckling was heard from the back of the room. "I'm afraid it's not as simple as all that." The Swordsman sighed. "When are you going to give it up? This game is getting old." "Oh, I agree, but I've still got one hand left to play, my boy." Julqq said, sitting in a chair. He snapped his fingers and a small grumble of jet engines turned into an unbearable groan. Suddenly the wall behind Julqq disappeared, torn down in seconds by an entire platoon (26) of Elephantine guards from the Air Force, missile packs on their shoulders aimed squarely at the Brotherhood. The Swordsman stood up and drew a sword. "That it? Really?" "Nah," Julqq said, snapping his fingers. Suddenly a full complement of Elephantine scouts rushed in, screaming and flailing with short swords. "Have fun!" |

BOBBY +SHEYLE. ![]() JIM +JULQQ. +Elephantine Guards (Air Force) & Elephantine Scouts. Xordra smiled and started to speak when his force senses alerted him to a powerful entity suddenly appearing in the room. "Shit," completed whatever he was going to say. He stood up as the guards destroyed the wall and used both hands to make a loud magic-enhanced whistle. He staggered a bit for a second and it was all he could do to put up a magic barrier to protect himself from the flailing swords of the Elephantine scouts. Suddenly there was a screeching, like that of a hawk but far louder, and suddenly a huge hawk swooped down from the sky and tore apart three Elephantine guards from the Air Force in one landing. "Sheyle!" exclaimed Xordra. "Glad to see you again, girl." The bird gave a perfunctory squawk then returned to maiming the other guards. The guards turned to face the giant bird and Xordra quickly called someone on his phone. "Yeah, we've been compromised. Bring the ship here as soon as possible. We need air support. And the big hawk is a friendly."... ((Xordra was calling the Negotiator. CW, if you could post next, that'd be grand ))

A man's voice answered Xordra's phone. "What? Who is this? How did you get my number? Look, this is a private line. Never call me here again." He hung up. The Elephantine guards continued approaching, but then they stopped. One pulled out a phone of his own, answering it. "Hello? Uh huh... Uh huh... Uh huh... Okay. Got it. On our way." Putting his phone away, the guard addressed his fellow soldiers. "Just got word from the boss. We've been reassigned. Let's go." Grumbling, they all put their weapons away and walked off. When all the Elephantine guards were gone, a voice spoke up from across the bar. "Xordra Kaliendar?" a woman's voice asked. Sitting on a stool at the bar was a woman in a black pantsuit. She was African-American, but with white hair tied in a functional pony tail and green eyes covered by glasses. A black briefcase leaned against the stool she sat on, a glass of scotch and a lit cigar sitting on an ash tray sat on the counter in front of her. She waved Xordra over, a stern look on her face. "Greetings, Mr. Kaliendar. May I offer you a drink?" she waved down the bartender from where he hid in the corner. "Barkeep, please get Xordra a glass of your finest scotch on the rocks." She turned back to Xordra. "Now, Mr. Kaliendar... You don't know me, but I know you. I am known as the Negotiator. Rest assured, I am not here to kill you. Rather, I have a business proposition for you. I represent a very private and very wealthy group. They've noticed your actions at Angel Island and Saupolis, and are quite interested in your particular set of skills. What I offer you is a rather simple proposal. My clients would like to fund you as the leader of a new peacekeeping organization. You are free to personally select anyone you want to join, and are free to do what you want with it. Rather informal, really. More like a brotherhood than an organization. My clients will fully fund your group and even provide you with supplies and a base to use, stocked with a full staff on their payroll. They won't give you any orders, but they will use their information network to bring opportunities to your knowledge for you to make use of your skills for the benefit of mankind. Imagine it. Your own crew, your own team, your own base to call your own, and nearly unlimited funds and resources at your disposal, all for the purpose of doing some good. What say you, Mr. Kaliendar? Would you like to take advantage of this opportunity?" She reached into her jacket pocket and removed a roll of paper, which she unrolled to reveal it was a contract, with a wax seal and golden border. She also produced a golden fountain pen. "You need only sign on the dotted line, and I will send word to my clients. It's as simple as that, Mr. Kaliendar." The entire time, her intense green eyes were trained on Xordra's own, a small frown on her face. She was obviously a businesswoman all throughout, and probably took things far too seriously. |

<<((This is before the arrival of the Negotiator))>> While the group was being swarmed by Elephantine scouts and threatened by the presence of the Elephantine air force, notes of a song faded in, audible even through the din of the screeching, flailing mass that had entered the room. Though the scouts never stopped swinging, a veritable army of citizens of Anthem stormed up in a mass charge, led by three familiar faces. As they got closer, the music got louder, growing into a strong-but-not-deafening wave, pushing the rebels forward in a great throbbing mass. The Swordsman was shocked. The citizens had done barely anything since the fall of the Tower, what brought them here, now? What kind of power would give them this kind of resolve? Just before reaching the line of soldiers, El Corona did a quick crouch and then a massive leap into the air, letting loose his wings, now a brilliant blue at the heart which faded into a strong red at the tips. He drew his sword, which looked hotter and more refined than ever before, and swung it directly downward, slicing an Air Force guard cleanly in half. Samuel grabbed a small box from his back with a handle, and swung it downward to form a sectional, yet solid, adamantium shovel. Charging at a guard with a yell, he swung the shovel into the armored midsection of the guard, fracturing and severely denting the armor in that part. He did a quick spin and struck again, finally shattering the armor, causing it to fall to the ground with heavy clunks. Samuel dropped his shovel and punched at the newly formed hole, lifting the heavy up with the force of the blow. He fell to the ground a foot or two away, face down on the concrete. Adrian ran forward with a perfectly focused expression on his face. He had a strange sort of skeletal suit on his back, extending down his arms and his legs. With the addition of this new power, in addition to his previous strength, he handily scooped a Guardsman, suit and all, into the air, and drove him to the ground. He then fell to the ground after him and ripped the guard's helmet off with a grunt, a shower of sparks, and a chain of wires, like the roots of a weed. The soldier's suit, without the constant retinal authorization of the helmet, sent a bright blue electric shock through the shell of the armor, frying him from the inside. With the hole the three had made in the line of Air Force guardsmen, the mass of people charged in and more or less slaughtered the entire complement of scouts. Within fifteen minutes, the entire site was clear of Elephantine. Swan walked up. ![]() The heavy that Samuel had fought, in a sparking and stuttering suit of armor, cracked in most parts and outright broken in others, tried desperately to crawl away, a solid trail of blood dripping from his mouth. Swan walked up, took a look at him, and put a bullet between his teeth. "Have a nice trip, kid! We'll be here when you get back!" Swan shouted to Swordsman before facing the rest of the group in the bar, "As for the rest of you...everybody gets one." He turned to the group of rebels. "Let's move on, gang! It's time we put this island right!" The crowd erupted into a cheer and left, taking the corpses and suits with them. <<((and now, after...))>> Edited by Jim, Oct 20 2013, 10:51.

Tothin noticed the guard scouts about to come in with the force and sighed as he stood up. Fas, on the other hand, was surprised, but immediately sprang to action and took out her hookshots. When Sheyle came out of nowhere, Fas was wary, wondering how something like that could surely be friendly. It seemed like a wild beast and those were certainly hard to train, especially with its size. "Heh," Tothin laughed. "You never cease to amaze me, Mr. Kaliendar. I never know what'll happen next with you! Good show." When the scouts were utterly decimated by Swan's crew, Fas was relieved and put away her hookshot. Tothin was too busy having fun at watching how the scouts were defeated to feel relief. When the Negotiator showed up, Fas said, "That's our cue to not do anything since Cyberweasel89 likes to only interact with Xordra when Marvin and I are in a topic under his control. I learned this much in the Sky Islands topic. There really was no reason for either of us to be there. Now that the god modding Negotiator is involved, I don't see how this topic will involve us anytime soon." "So, what do you want to talk about?" Tothin asked. "Well, I though about it more, and I will try to see if I have that power that I spoke to you about before," Fas explained. "I realized that regardless of whether I have it or not, I am the only survivor of the Epoirg tribe. That alone means that I have a right to carry on its legacy. Who cares if i am fit to lead it or not?" "That's the Fas I know," Tothin agreed. "Welcome back." He turned to Xordra and said, "After learning from my investor dad and the black market, I can tell you that this lady is all business. That doesn't mean to trust her or distrust her. That's up to you. All it means is to make sure you know what you want and stick with it no matter what happens." Edited by Bobby, Feb 24 2014, 12:48.

((CW, I like your Negotiator character. She seems cool. What doesn't seem as cool is sending Jim's elephantine guards away without first consulting him. He had plans with them to make this an effectively epic ending to the first part of the South Pole Revolution plotline. He's actually writing a story using elements of the South Pole and has more or less a master plan in mind for things related to the South Pole. Granted, we can usually get away with god-modding unclaimed characters such as the elephantine guards without consulting first, but in this case Jim effectively uses them as pseudo-claimed characters that can't just be sent off. I think Jim handled the veritable hijacking well. Now to the story after the big fight and once the Negotiator has talked to Xordra...)) Not sure what happened with the phone call, since he dialed the number previously given to him by one of the Negotiator's people, he watched as an army of civilians with a few familiar faces rushed the guards. And in no time Swan's army had defeated and stripped the elephantine guards of their armor. The tide of the revolution seemed to have turned. Xordra listened to the Negotiator's words and nearly smiled in elation, but he knew how to keep a poker face. "Miss Negotiator, I would love to sign the contract. On the condition that it is as you described. Part of what I want to do with the world is eliminate corruption. Since money and power corrupt and what you're offering is essentially just that, I am reluctant to sign this. In addition, people like your wealthy group are commonly the cause of the highest levels of corruption. The fact that they're private makes them especially distrusting. But so long as I have your word that I will have more or less free reign as far as how I use this brotherhood, I will sign it." With that he put the golden fountain pen to the paper and signed his name. Before he let go of the contract, he offered it to Tothin, Fas, Gorgie and the Swordsman, since he knew that they would be directly involved with the Brotherhood's actions as well. After all, Xordra was not a leader; he was an idealist. ((assuming everyone signed it...)) He returned the contract to the Negotiator and said, "I expect us to be informed of the development of our acquisitions." With that, he stood up, patted Sheyle on her head, sent her off, came back in, bought a drink and then before he could drink it, collapsed into his seat, his earlier use of bankai as well as all the excitement afterwards and the momentous decision becoming too much for him. "Well, we've got ourselves a Brotherhood!" exclaimed Gorgie, giving a toast to the new group then drinking Xordra's drink.... |
