Heavies (or Elephantine Guardsmen) The Elephantine Guard are a pay-to-play police force/SWAT team hired by the city of Anthem to keep watch over its city and its denizens. They consist of both heavily armored troops and lightly armored troops known as scouts. Both rely on adamantium mined from the North Pole for the critical parts of their armor. General info: Heavies are enlisted men from various places around the world. Few, if any, are native to the island. The operators are heavily trained in secret camps hidden in the swamps. Little is known about the personal lives of operators. Their suits are manufactured by Capital Industries. Scouts are typically either conscripted or indentured because of debts. Many are unwilling but the Guard have Pavlovian methods to convince them to do their bidding. For example, if a scout were to start to back away from a fight, they would be given a strong electric shock. They must have at least one heavy with them at all times, but are only dispatched in quick response scenarios. Otherwise they perform routine sweep and kill operations throughout the city. They are trained in parkour and krav maga. Most are insane and cannot be reasoned with. Men, women, and children can all be scouts. Armor/Movement: Heavy troops are slower, have a smaller range of motion, and are mostly mechanical. They have thick, heavy armor (known as HEPHAESTUS (HEated Photon HArnessing Energy Sustaining Tactical Uniform Suits) armor) all over their body, with hoses and pipes galore (which are either made of or shielded by adamantium, eliminating them as usable weak points). There are no weak points on heavy armor itself, except perhaps for the visor/glasses, which is thin translucent adamantium (still almost impossible to scratch, let alone break through) or a blow to the head with a blunt piece of adamantium, which weakens the structural integrity due to sympathetic vibration. This effect can be compounded with an electrical signal that matches the same resonance frequency. The helmet resembles a cross between that of a Brotherhood of Steel paladin and a Killzone infantryman. Their armor looks like a cross between that of a Brotherhood of Steel paladin and an Xtacle. The suit is power armor, which is between plate armor and an Iron Man suit in terms of ability. Goldenrod armor tests the user's DNA and registers it with that specific armor, so that if anyone else were to put on the armor, they would be electrocuted and killed. Scouts only have adamantium over the most vital parts, eg a facemask/helmet (no back), torso plate/shoulder guard (w/back)(think like a cross between a bulletproof vest and football shoulder pads) and elbow and knee guards, as well as adamantium bracers. Their suits have no mechanization whatsoever. Armaments: Heavy troops are almost always armed with bladeshields (often called snap shields because of their motion or heart blades because of their shape) which resemble, in shape, energy swords from Halo 2. They are made of adamantium, sharpened on the edges, ending in a point at the end, vaguely heart-shaped. They have high pressure pneumatic actuators which the operator can activate when in imminent danger of an attack, which rise within a second and let out a very loud clicking sound when fully up (ratchet lock)(thus the snap). They can cut through almost anything, and have exposed lasers on the side, which are for the most heavy-duty jobs. Those lasers are also a detriment, because when they are directly reflected back to the source, they cause critical failure within the suit and often an explosion, but at the very least a complete and permanent power down. Almost all heavies are equipped with a side-holstered .50 magnum, which is rarely, if ever, used. The holster is locked and unlocked by the operator, and thus the gun cannot be stolen. Scouts are armed with heart blades vertically cut in half (back side sharp) for mobility. Said shields are not pneumatic and have no deflection capabilities. They may also be armed with a wide variety of weapons salvaged or stolen from enemies, ranging from switchblades to assault rifles. Appearance: Heavies vary in color and are either hunter green, matte black, deep blue, dark red or goldenrod for elite soldiers. They have advertising on their bladeshields, torso, back, and often on the back of their helmet. The torso advertising is typically like what would be on the quarter panel of a NASCAR racer: Many different, smaller advertisements commingled together. The back advertising is a full-back spread. The shield advertising is always the same company and reserved for the biggest spenders. The helmet advertising is given only for special events. The visors are always either red, blue, or green. Scout armor likewise varies in color. They have advertising on the torso and back in the same way as heavies. Heavies: Chain of Command Corps: Heavies have four corps: Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Defense (there is no flight capability in any HEPHAESTUS suit). Army: The Army contains all light infantrymen and footsoldiers, as well as a smattering of specialists, which are extremely rare. The Army color is hunter green. The division logos are all based on playing cards, and the top tier, the Knights of Honor, have the king of hearts as their logo. They initially chose the playing card theme. Their suits are goldenrod, much more heavily armored and defended, and capable of twice the attack force of the average heavy suit. They are absurdly rare as they mostly consist of top-tier soldiers such as captains and majors. Knights are unique in that they have much more autonomy than any other unit, serving as paladins and military policemen, or peacekeepers, or desperadoes. They are the only unit in the Elephantine with a definable moral standpoint, which can range from lawful good to chaotic neutral. They can be called by characters to assist, provided the distance is reasonable. They can, however, mutilate characters on a whim, and will do so if provoked. The bottom of the pile are the Attackers of Chaos, whose logo is the ace of clubs, a division consisting almost entirely of scouts. Marines: The Marines contain all heavy infantrymen and front line soldiers. Their color is matte black. Their armor is typically less thick and more mobile. The division logos are all traditional Marines, skulls, diving eagles, lightning bolts and things of that ilk. Their elites are known as Riders of the Storm, who have the thinnest armor of any heavy and thus extremely good range of motion, agility and speed. They are also often armed with electric tear gas guns, which shoot out canisters containing a mix of smoke and metallic dust which create a spark after a second or two, causing lightning within the smoke which can disable or injure those wearing metal armor. Their armor is also goldenrod. Their lowest tier are the Maggots, which are suicide scouts who go in when the odds are impossible to either distract or annoy the enemy. The Maggots are the largest division in the army by 50%. Navy: The Navy are all spec ops soldiers, trained in extraction and other very specialized operations. Their color is deep blue. Their logos are all crests and shields. Their top soldiers are known as Tidals, and they perform extremely dangerous extraction missions. Their armor is absurdly thick and sluggish, electrically charged to repel enemies and with extra space to store a passenger. Their armor is...you guessed it...goldenrod. The lowest tier are the Floaters, which are coastal headhunter scouts who do low-grade assassinations of local upstarts. Air Defense: The Air Defense troops are used for air and ground defense from airplanes, tanks, things of that ilk. Their armor is dark red. They have small shoulder-mounted missile launchers which pop up from their shoulders and create large explosions. Depending on the operation, these launchers may contain tank-busting missiles with armor-piercing tips and large areas of effect, heat-seeking missiles, or standard ballistic missiles for extreme riot control. Though they cannot fly, they have flaps that allow them to glide from a helicopter. Their logos are typically designed by the unit in a pop art way. Their elites are known as Baylor's Brawlers, with a nontraditional logo of a heavy mask crossed with twin sabers behind it, the quote “Kill them all” in Latin above the logo and “Let God sort 'em out” in Latin under the logo, all in front of a shield with gold edging and red velvet body. Their missile launchers are much, much larger and fire heavier ordinance which is used to demolish small to semi-large buildings, bust large machines such as Demo's massive backhoes, and shoot Ulysses-grade jets (gargantuan troop carriers with six engines) out of the sky. Their armor is goldenrod as well. The lowest of the low are known as Scramblers, scouts with disposable shoulder-fire missile launchers intended for guerilla warfare. Ooga's current form is contained within a standard heavy of this division. Edited by Jim, Jul 29 2011, 21:03.

Burn it up'n tear it down Raze this city to the tarnished ground While the war pigs falsely weep The city will lie in a golden heap - "A Dream", Me "Total slaughter, total slaughter. I won't leave a single man alive. La de da de die, genocide. La de da de dud, an ocean of blood. Let's begin the killing time." -Vash the Stampede | |
